Nekopara isn't all that fan-servicey really. Of course To Love-Ru also doesn't have a version of it with sex, so it's a silly comparison. If there was an official version of To Love-Ru with actual explicit sex you would have to be stupid to prefer the original.
-
The deal with Shiny Days was that a few of the Kokoro scenes were just flat-out non-consensual, instead of statutory. JAST published Littlewitch which had loli sex scenes, so it's probably just a case of the rape. Mare's sex scenes (and all loli sex scenes in Favorite games for that matter) are consensual, so there shouldn't be any problem.
-
Steam is apparently more harsh towards Japanese games than western ones regarding this. Also, there's the whole loli thing. Is there any reason to believe they are anti-loli? Also I'm pretty sure most of the staff at Favorite are loli fans themselves, so I doubt they'd be okay with singling out Mare's h-content.
-
Here is more than likely what'll happen. The h-scenes will be taken out, doing that is fairly easily, since the game script separates them from the rest of the text. All of the non-h CGs that contain nipples will be censored, with a light beam if they don't want to waste time, or with hair or something if they want it to look good. I think there's something like 4 or 5 of those CGs? If they wanted to be fancy they could try and get the Kosame and Chinami ones in, but I doubt the Mare one would be approved by valve uncensored.

It reads terribly stilted, so if you have any sort of standard, you should be able to notice that the characters don't speak like normal people. That and it was a Chinese --> English translation and was riddled with errors. https://www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/45meml/sekai_project_has_picked_up_hoshizora_no_memoria/czz7at0 If the editor is finding translation errors, you probably aren't doing a good job.
-
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they know... Hell, FAVORITE knew about it way back when it was still being translated, and they sent Staircase a C&D.
-
You have the prices mixed up. It's $5 for the digital game, and another $5 for the 18+ patch. Pretty cheap, actually, but I'm guessing this game is going to be short, like Nekopara.
-
Considering Sekai Project pays extremely high wages compared to other competitors (5-10 cents per character compared to the standard which is supposedly 1?), I doubt they'd do that. Not to mention I feel like harassing a group into providing their translation for free with legal threats is probably not a smart idea by any stretch of the imagination. Even if it may be legal, which I'm not even sure it is, it's an easy way to ruin your reputation. With the reputation problems they already have, I really doubt they'd want to do something that would probably make even some of their most loyal followers hop off.

It doesn't actually require any more work on their side, since all they'd have to do is hire the people currently working on it. The only difference is that you'd have to wait longer to release it. Hoshimemo is a pretty poor translation, all things considered. Not the worst thing out there, but definitely not something you'd want to release as a paid product.
-
Because the original translation was pretty bad, tbh.

Beat Blades haruka & Seinarukana have some question
Chuee replied to nos4r2's topic in Visual Novel Talk
As far as I know the only rape happens if you lose to enemies. And even then, I'm thinking it gives you the option to skip. -
Yuzu Soft games place high every year, it's no surprise. They also sell like hotcakes too, yet their scores on EGS remain average for basically all of their games. Most of the people probably vote based on enjoyment. I'm pretty sure they do, it's just most people probably want to vote for new titles they played rather than fan-disks.

" 皆さん知ってるんですか!? もしかして私が選ばれた理由って――そんな……コレは大勢の人にオナニー女と思われた結果だなんて……最悪、最悪です" This is great.
-
Ahaha I don't think you have any clue what you're talking about. Sekai Project releases like 5 times as many doujin games as MG does. And I'm pretty sure Himawari isn't a 'lolige' by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe you shouldn't try to stick labels on games you know next to nothing about?
-
Err, I think you're misinterpreting that. They're not speaking generally, but with the context if JAST. So, if Key ever wanted to localize any of their games with JAST, they'd love to do Angel Beats. Which is just their way of saying it's outside their domain.

Conjueror's Untranslated Visual Novel Tournament [Discussion]
Chuee replied to Maxel's topic in Visual Novel Talk
And this matters why...? Just because it uses a cliche setting doesn't mean it can't be a meaningful, and good story. -
If you're going to complain about budget restrictions, then actually figure out what works with the budget you have. There's no way in hell you're going to make a decent plot for 5 routes in a game only 2-10 hours long, plain and simple. If the norm for OELVNs stays as bad as it currently is, they'll never reach the point where they have sizable budgets to work with when creating their games.

WEE Episode 3 - Sekai Project's Unwanted Child
Chuee replied to Nosebleed's topic in Visual Novel Talk
The more games they take on, the less time and resources they have to focus on their earlier games/kickstarters that aren't fully released, like WEE. But yeah, this is the problem with Kickstarter. Since creators are under no obligation to release the finished product by a certain date, they can take their sweet time on things that really shouldn't be taking long. It happens in other kickstarters too, like the feminist frequency video campaign thing, where they're only halfway through producing the videos even though the estimated release for it was 3.5 years ago. -
Most of those are for more fetish-y characters. Most piss scenes involving lolis are for the embarrassment factor (they'll start to tear up or cry after doing it). As far as non-nukige goes a lot of piss scenes involve loli or really petite characters. https://vndb.org/c24597 https://vndb.org/c577 https://vndb.org/c3930 https://vndb.org/c1793 https://vndb.org/c912 https://vndb.org/c5499 https://vndb.org/c9359 https://vndb.org/c17038 https://vndb.org/c788

Inside. You can't say you love them if you won't cum inside. -

Conjueror's Untranslated Visual Novel Tournament [Discussion]
Chuee replied to Maxel's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Nakahiro is decent, but if you're talking about backing yourself into corners he does it a lot more. Hoshizora had that problem when they added the true heroine, basically shafting any chance of Mare having an actual route involving her (the plot of her route in the fandisk has almost nothing to do with her). His latest game, AstralAir, does this a lot too. Also from what I've heard, they had already planned a sequal to IroSeka early on in it's development. I'm not really sure why you'd decide to drop it at the end of the common route. The last section of it was probably the most interesting part of the whole common route. -
a way to make visual novels more popular in the west
Chuee replied to Lumaria's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Why do VNs have to integrate into the west? Why do they have to become mainstream? If you don't like otaku stuff then fine, don't play it, watch it, read it, etc. However it's not your place to decide what gets produced, it's the consumers. If the majority of consumers like bishoujo and moe type stuff then that's what will be produced. If you don't like that type of stuff, fine, but don't go and complain about how visual novels need to change to cater to people who don't even play them nor care about them. -
Root Double- Before Crime * After Days - Kickstarter launched!
Chuee replied to Decay's topic in Visual Novel Talk
What they have right now is probably all that's available. As far as pre-existing merchandise goes, you have the items already on there, and then maybe some telephone cards, which aren't really marketable over here. If there were tapestries and stuff available I doubt they'd be putting mugs on there. -
Look forward to the official release in 2018~
