  1. Yeah that stuff was kind of important though. Hidden Content Uh yeah, the true route was actually supposed to mimic the Tanabata legend. So yes, it was kind of important.

  3. Obviously, Mare is a shit I'll fight you. Anyways, even though I agree with a lot of the points raised, there's still a few hilarious misconceptions. One being how Isuzu's personality is somehow only a result of her missing the Australian night sky? I mean I hate Isuzu as much as everyone else, but that was most definitely not the reason why she ended up a foul tempered introvert, and the game straight up tells you she's anti-social because she didn't know Japanese when moving from Australia to Japan and therefore had no friends.
  4. Mangagamer people mostly post on 4chan.
  5. Along with things like Rewrite, Muv Luv, and Fate Stay Night. Granted nothing other than Grisaia got many votes, but people vote for that solely because they hear everyone say it is.
  6. I'd like to single this out specifically so I can say that $40 is NOT what most people are willing to spend on VNs, which is the whole point of this split in the first place. The last year of VNs being on Steam showed us something very important, that price is one of the biggest factors for a VN's popularity. Low-costing inferior products outsell high-costing superior products by a disproportionately large amount. Even a VN with the popularity of Grisaia isn't immune from this. It has sold only around 5,000 copies outside of its kickstarter. Therefore, SP is exploring alternative payment options. I still like my episodic idea a lot better because you could set lower price-points, but maybe that would take too much engine rejiggering to be viable, or perhaps there was a licensing issue, who knows. It depends. Even among the low priced games (around $10 or lower) there's still a big gap between those that have storylines and those that are more light-hearted (nekpara, Sakura games). It'll likely give them more sales, but I doubt it'll be anything too significant.
  7. They asked for way too much considering it's a mobile game. Not to mention the idea of a BL game where the boys transform into girls probably isn't a smart idea and turned away a few people.
  8. Pleasing your customers is also kind of important, you know.
  9. I think they're used. Though they should be in good condition unless otherwise stated.
  10. Mandarake ships internationally and has eroge, you just have to search for it in Japanese. There's a copy of Yosuga no Sora for only 4,000 yen http://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1029606642

  12. To be fair, I live in the USA and have never really heard pearl necklace used before, so it's not really a case of it being a region specific term. That said, it's probably the best substitution you'll find, despite the word being a little obscure.
  13. H-Scenes are tons of fun. Especially when the word penis is never used, and genitals are always referred to with non-decent sounding words. Then add on all the terribly strange sounding lines that make you cringe. Something like "The joy of being born a woman" or something? That one was nice.
  14. Apparently they're doing a kickstarter too? Who knows how well a kickstarter for a completely unknown game like this will go.
  15. Also keep in mind Muv-Luv is 2 seperate games. The best tier if you wanted physical copies (most people do) is the $150 tier, compared to Clannad's physical copy tier which was much lower.
  16. You literally answered yourself. Sakura Spirit has a high amount of sales because it's popular for being tit CGs slapped on a 2 hour bland story. People buy it to troll gift their friends, or whatever, because it's literally only like 5 dollars. Naturally, none of these people are going to keep buying these games because the joke dies down over time. By their 'fanbase' I'm referring to the people who keep coming back and buying the Sakura games, not everyone who owns Sakura Spirit, because many of those owners aren't really fans. For the sales of Sakura Swim whatever to top the sales of Sakura Spirit would require them to bring in sales from outside their core fanbase.
  17. It's not rocket science. Winged Cloud made sex scenes for their game because, surprise surprise, their fanbase has an interest in it. Which is also why they released a patch and posted it on Steam. I wouldn't be surprised if a good number of the people who bought Sakura Swim Club played through the adult version.
  18. I'm pretty sure any basic marketing knowledge tells you that more exposure is always better. Also I'm not sure why you consider minors 'stumbling' across as such a big deal. Most mid-teens already watch online pornography, and if anyone is lying about being 18 on the internet they know exactly what they're getting into.
  19. Then technically all CGs are unnecessary too. Visual novels aren't books. Some people prefer visual representation of things over pure descriptions.
  20. Yeah, there's apparently a history to this guy and why he no longer has anything to do with 2ch. http://www.anonymous-japan.org/fake2ch/
  21. Yeah, you'll notice there are a lot of Chinese translations out there. Mostly due to Chinese being an easy translation from Japanese, but they still have a big enough scene to get all the fan-translations they have.
  22. If you have the time and patience to go through every Sakura game you can get through a 10-30 hr moege.
  23. I don't remember them being that bad to be honest. Kosame does act like a tease, but typically any character with that type of personality will act shy around the person they like or whatever, it happens a lot. If you want extremely lewd h-scenes you're better off looking for other games. Favorite games never really do more than 2-3 scenes per heroine and they never really get too overly fetishy like other games do. They also follow a similar pattern for the most part. You'll notice the first scene always begins with the undressing CGs with a really sweet BGM, panties are almost always either white or stripped (white is supposed to be the least lewd color). They're formulaic, but it's because they purposely want the scenes to come off like that, not because they're lazy.
