  1. Considering they removed all the patches on their site, for games that will probably never be localized, I doubt they're going to put out a patch if it fails. Chances are if they fail they'll find some ways to cut the cost by a little (if it fails it won't be by a lot). Considering the release date is so soon, I doubt they've considered not releasing it. Most of the work is probably done on this, so not releasing it would mean those people would get no compensation.
  2. I don't like Chinami, but I can at least excuse her stupidity because she has the brain of a 5 year old. *insert line about semen tasting like mayonnaise*
  3. I'm sure they know that the tiers are pretty underwhelming. The problem is that a game like Root Double probably only had a limited amount of goods produced for it, so there's only a small selection when it comes to bonus items to include in the kickstarter. If they had better choices, then I doubt they'd be throwing in random shit like mugs.
  4. Even if you do hate Chinami you must admit that Chinami-ism is one of the most genius songs ever created.
  5. There's a lot of scenarios without the horrible gory endings in which he still acts like an asshole. Not that I think he's a completely horrible person, I thought there were a lot of nice moments with him in Shiny Days (mostly those with his little sister), but he still does some pretty awful stuff to people. Regarding shiny days, the main plot with Setsuna is probably some of the dumbest drama I've ever seen. As a game it's a lot more light-hearted and you won't find any gory bad endings like in school days, but there are a few really questionable sex scenes even without the rape scenes involving Kokoro.
  6. All-ages with a released patch to put the cut content back in.
  7. Yeah, Sayori is a porn artist, and Nekopara was originally a bunch of porn doujinshi involving the two cats. Needless to say, I doubt she'll ever purposefully not draw stuff because they have an all-ages version too.
  8. You weren't here during the Era of Steve, that guy is (was) the #1 hoshimemo loli protector hero and truth and justice around these parts. Anyway, all I can say about HoshiMemo is that Komomo is like one of the top tsunderes in the hallmark of VN tsundere heroines. Hands down. By far. HNGGGG But she wasn't even the best tsundere in her own game /mare Too be fair, the VA that replaced her is pretty amazing in her own right (and can be really annoying). She's played a few other annoying-type characters, including a certain, uh, green-haired kindergartner piece of shit.
  9. It's not really fan-service, just a short comedy scene. It's actually pretty funny so you might want to download a 100% save and play through it (getting all the achievement things is a pain in the ass).
  10. She was always like that. For example, in Angelic Howl there was something about her 'reading' books she'd memorized in her mind. Sorry, that's just not possible. I like her, but that's mostly just personality. As a character, she basically just screams out Mary Sue.
  11. Why would MiKandi make an official 18+ version to sell on Denpasoft's site when they're making an 18+ patch for the Steam version, and could just sell an 18+ version on their own site if they wanted to? It's not like Denpasoft gets a ton of hits or anything. It'd make more sense to sell it on MangaGamer's site, if they were going to use a third party site to sell it. I sincerely doubt this means much of anything. Someone on their reddit AMA asked them to actual release an 18+ version instead of just a patch for the steam version, and they said they'd look into it specifically mentioning that they'd talk to 3rd parties about it.
  12. I'll just leave this here for speculation *whistles*
  13. I doubt anyone at Mangagamer would be willing to localize a translation by Ixrec honestly. If they pick up any more steampunk games, they're likely going to be re-translated.
  14. Well, even if Weaboos have heard of the word 'desu', how many of them are going to actually understand what it means in this context?
  15. They do use tacos instead of just taco, though there's obvious reasons for that. Well it would make sense if all English words changed in plural form, but not all do. So the argument is that since they can still be grammatically correct by having the same singular and plural, we should leave them like that. German nouns aren't capitalized in English because English has specific rules for capitalization and leaving them like that wouldn't be grammatically correct in English.
  16. It's more about whether Japanese loanwords should be pluralized or not since they have no plural form.
  17. I remember peeking at the CGs for this awhile back and don't remember anything involving a drill. *looks* Well... that was nice.
  18. Well, actual Japanese people never talk like that to begin with from what I've heard, so it's supposed to sound a little dumb. If the sentence sounds dumb in English you're probably doing it right, since it seems like it's there to imply that the character is dumb and naive.
  19. No, there's nothing wrong with writing characters who aren't nice, and if Isuzu simply didn't want to be his friend that would be fine as well. But, the problem is her quirk involves telling you to kill yourself. Like I understand it's meant to be a joke, but after awhile it stops being so much funny as it is just really asshole-ish.
  20. PS: If you write "baka" in an English script, I hope you get some bubble gum stuck to your jeans next time you sit down. Well, I guess that applies to me. Fuck.
  21. >liking Isuzu ha ha ha
  22. Translation isn't a word for word process holy shit. Also, leaving a footnote that equates to "This word means nothing." doesn't make things any easier to understand.
  23. The reason why Spanish words are okay is because major English speaking countries also have many Spanish speakers from surroundings countries which causes their culture to sift in. As a result, almost every English speaker in say the US will now a few Spanish words like say Uno, Adios, Amigo, etc. It's basically the same thing as how Japanese has a shitload of English words in the language that people know and use all the time, but to a lesser degree. The same thing doesn't really hold true in English for Japanese save a few cultural words like Samurai, Ninja, Sushi, you get the idea. Putting in desu in a translation isn't a smart idea because the vast majority of English speakers, yes even in the anime community, aren't going to understand what it means even if they know of the word. That's what translating is. Speech quirks typically don't have much meaning on their own beyond being a part of certain speech habits. Even if the "nanoyosa" wasn't directly translated, that doesn't mean meaning was lost in the transition. Also just translate desu as yes most of the time, be creative when you can't, there problem fixed.
  24. Sekai Project stuck with mosaiced releases because adult games aren't their main business and they can't be bothered to go the extra mile for a market they don't really care about. Do you work for MangaGamer? Sekai project has only done like two 18+ releases, I wouldn't judge them as having a stance or anything. The grisaia didn't get unmosaiced because the uncensored drawings didn't exist, and I doubt Frontwing had the time to do anything to get them back in, seeing as it took them fuck knows how long to fix a few bugs for the 18+ release. Also, I'm pretty sure he does work for Mangagamer as a matter of fact.
  25. That can't be a good thing. "He came up with a theory surrounding "orgone," a supposed universal energy that drives all life, which is sexual in nature." Literally what... "And he came up with a bizarre form of therapy where he would have his patients strip down and he would prod and massage them in certain ways that would allow them release repressed emotions and sometimes also reach orgasm." Okay I guess he is weirder than Freud.
