Introduction
Welcome, fellow Fuwamembers, to the FuwaRecognition thread. Starting this March, we’ll be highlighting some of the best contributions made by our members each month. From snazzy blog articles to delicious forum threads, and perhaps even a few things more on the shitpost part of the spectrum, we'll keep an eye out for the cream of the crop. And then we'll gather them here. Just for you.

By the mid 1990’s Warren Spector had already made a big name for himself from his involvement on the first person role playing games ‘Ultima Underworld’ and ‘System Shock’. Ultima Underworld released in early 1992. It was a technological revolution as it was one of the earliest games to display texture mapping in first person.
Spector had gotten his first taste of
Second bi-weekly update, and oh boy things happened since the last one. There's a lot to talk about, so buckle up your seatbelts.

Progress is steady, we made a new table to display it in our website, so goodbye the shitty one I did at the beggining, now it will show exact numbers and specific routes. You can check it out here: https://lunatranslationstestsite.wordpress.com/projects-2/projects/progress/ . One of our translators is having some issues right now but he'll b
Agobarrier, who was the writer of Shuffle (the work most familiar to people here) was one of my favorite non-chuuni VN writers. Ironically, his best works were all written after leaving Navel and its massive stream of liquid cash to form Rosebleu, my favorite comedy company. I started going back through his entire library of works (or at least the ones I've played and own) since I heard of his death in mid-April, and as I replay his final work, Valkyrie Runabout, I feel a need to look back on
Visual Novel Translation Status (08/20/2016)
This week title, since we had Flowers sudden release from JAST and Flowers itself will be planned as tetralogy and will be based on the season, I decided to combine the first game from Season game series (Natsuyume Nagisa and Hatsuyuki Sakura) of Niijima Yuu and Saga Planet fame (Coming x Humming!!) and Flower here (Also first Flower was in spring season for the timeline here). The reason I chose Coming for the first half part because there's a J

Current Situation:
We are trying to get this game translated, and had a somewhat functioning team back in December, where we had enough people to make decent progress. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I'm the only translator left and the group, out of the two members we're left with, and am quite busy for the year, so I'm going really slow with the translations.
What's been done?
Most of the TL progress has gone to Airi, with

In the mid 1990's id software was the most prominent company when it came to first person shooters. However a man named Ken Silverman had been producing a new game engine called the 'build engine' that would allow for more advanced graphics than id's games. Ken's build engine would be more powerful than id's tech, as it would allow for destructible environments, sectors that could overlap each oth
So , i just finished reading Shikkoku no Sharnoth -What a Beautiful Tomorrow- , and here is my opinion about it.
Story:
I like how the story begins and i liked some of the characters , the middle part of the story disappointed me , the plot twists were really predictable , and the the ending would be prefect if they had removed just one thing from it ( i will talk a lot about the later part of the story , with a lot of details , so if you still did not read the vn , it will have
Hey, another update.
First up, let's welcome our new QC, Nanon. He seems to know what he's doing, so that's nice. QC should be coming much more swimmingly.
Some nice progress was made this week, both in editing and in QC'ing, and progress overall is speeding up decently, which I'm overjoyed about.
Anyways, that's all that's happened this week, so onto progress:
Translation: 100%
Editing: 46,5%
QC: 25,5%
Proofreading: 0%
Farewell.
Video Game History - Rise of the Triad (2013)
Rise of the Triad promotional art
In 1994 Rise of the Triad Dark was released. The game was originally intended to be a sequel to Wolfenstein 3D that id Software had asked Apogee Software to make for them whilst they focused solely on Doom. But when id Software changed their mind about the sequel, Apogee had to re-tool the game into something new. That somethi
Hey, it has been a while since I wrote a blog entry. I did make one not too long ago, when the Maggot Baits TL got announced, but thanks to the forum rollback, that got purged. (Thanks a lot Nosebleed. Yeah, we know it was you!!!)
Anyways, in this blog entry I'll be talking about the guro game that got released by Bug System about 3 weeks ago, Shi ni Iku Kimi, Yakata ni Mebuku Zouo. I picked this up after @Kawasumi told me about it and asked if I wanted to read it with him, (thanks for that
First, I should say that this is a low-price VN in the same setting as Hatsugamai (one of the better VNs released this year), written by the same guy who wrote that estimable VN, as well as Senren Banka, Love Rec, Satsukoi, Clover Days, Karumaruka Circle (Saga Planets), and Aete Mushisuru Kimi to no Mirai. In other words, this guy is one of those rare, extremely high-skilled writers who regularly pumps out the highest quality moe-bait charage that so many Fuwans love but can also be loved by pe

In 1977 the videogame market was flooded with clones of the game ‘Pong’. Pong which released in 1972 had been such a huge hit that many other game companies had tried to produce their own version of the game. This led to a glut of pong consoles hitting the market meaning videogame companies had to sell their systems at a loss and consequently go out of business.
So , i decided to put here , all the reviews that i made in the "what are you playing" thread .

Well then i really enjoyed the story , even some plot twist i could predict would happen , the write somehow was still able to surprise me , i love the art , it looked like a misture of the italian renaissance art (http://italianrenaissanceresources.com/wp-content/themes/nga/images/home-unit-1.jpg) with your average anime style art , the ost was...,well i
For my first post, I'm just going to make a list of VNs I'm currently playing or planning on playing.
Currently Playing
Banshee's Last Cry
This is an American remake of a Japanese classic Sound Novel from freaking... I don't remember, but it's on Super Famicon. And I think it's already been mentioned here. Damn this VN has a lot of endings. I'm a little burnt out on it now and I had to download a guide because this game has a whopping 43 endings. I only got 6 without the guide..
Video Game History - Half Life

Gabe Newell started his career at Microsoft. He worked as a programmer on the Windows 1, 2, and 2.1 operating systems. In December of 1993 id software released Doom. Doom is a mega-hit and in late 1995 it is thought that more people have played the game then own the Windows 95’ operating system. This forced Bill Gates to recognize the potential of video games and
Elexis sinclair (hyper-sexualized villainess of the SiN franchise)
SiN Episodes: Emergence has all the elements that could have made a great game. Bombastic characters, comical gratuity both in gore and in partial nudity and a much laid back if not heavily generic storyline. If you take the final product for what it is, one 9th of a much larger game with multiple plot strands, a sprawling Universe and an internal lore, emergence comes off as rather disappointing.
Retro Review - Clive Barker's Undying (Pc)
Clive Barker's Undying box art
Clive Barker’s Undying is a survival horror game that has a deeply gothic look and feel to it. While I’m not all that familiar with Barker’s work apart from his most iconic book ‘The Hellbound Heart’ and the film adaption ‘Hellraiser’, I am very familiar with the works of H.P Lovecraft. Lovecraft is my favorite horror writer and someone who greatly inspir
First, I should say that this VN has major problems, despite the fact that I ended up enjoying it quite a bit as a whole. This is true of most VNs (obviously), but in this case, the problems are a bit more obvious.
The main problem is the number of choices... to be honest, the sheer number of choices in this VN completely breaks engrossment with it at most points. Generally, the best parts of this VN are found when the choices are over and all that is left is the momentum until the end of
Review - Fairy Fencer F (PS3, Pc)
Fairy Fencer F box art
The story in this game is in one word ‘fairies’. You see, you have a fencer who controls the fairy when wielding them in battles. Naturally you have some evil villains who want to control all the fairies for World domination or some such thing. But all you really need to know is that this game is trying to be kind of edgy, which doesn’t work out at all, because it’s about fairies. Anywa

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 cover art
If you’ve been a fan of Japanese role playing games in the last 5 years chances are you’ve heard of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. To date there is a trilogy of games on PS3, a manga series, an anime series and another manga series based on the anime. It also has 3 spin off games, 3 remakes the first two of which are alrea
Visual Novel Translation Status (08/14/2016)
Looks like we'll had late VNTS here, so let me tried to made some early VNTS Review here (Of course I'll add VNTS link if it's posted though). This week I'll combine 2 announced title from Otakon (Hapymaher and Sona-Nyl) here so we got 'The Lucid Memories'. The reason was because in Hapymaher we'll deal with lucid dream and in Sona-Nyl we had subtitle 'What A Beautiful Memories'. As promised, this week I'll combine both of my VNTS Review and Otak
Now, this is going to be a somewhat short post, despite the fact that Damekoi has turned into one of the better VNs I've played in recent years (well, for the first time, anyway). That is because Asami and Mitoko's routes split at the same point and share at least some of the same events and text, and Asami's route is mostly done by that split.
I'm going to be blunt... once you get past Himeo's route, it turns into a muddy and messy ren'ai drama. The protagonist, Osamu, is torn between hi
I want to preface this by saying that I enjoyed Highway Blossoms. But if I want to see better stuff out there in English language Visual Novels, whether OELVN or in translation, people are going to have to start criticizing the problems they have, and I didn't see criticism of the problems I found in Highway Blossoms. So, so that the creators (be they OELVN writers or translators) can learn and benefit from criticism and hopefully come back with something stronger next time around, and so that p
