    Fabulous on Fuwa - February!

    By Kaguya

Introduction   Welcome, fellow Fuwamembers, to the FuwaRecognition thread. Starting this March, we’ll be highlighting some of the best contributions made by our members each month. From snazzy blog articles to delicious forum threads, and perhaps even a few things more on the shitpost part of the spectrum, we'll keep an eye out for the cream of the crop. And then we'll gather them here. Just for you.   *holds up giant APPLAUSE sign*   A-hem, so this is the f

Tarareba

This is a moege (yes, a moege) and a nakige (think Key style, with less depth and more sex) by Aries, a company that makes 'themed' games (mostly).  In this case, the theme is 'what if?'  Basically, they set it up as a deliberate 'what if you changed these events?' scenario for the protagonist.  To be frank, Aries' games tend to rank from average down to somewhere below mediocre, outside of having some of the sexiest heroines I've seen outside of nukige and Semiramis no Tenbin, lol (this is sett

Prunus Girl - Review & Thoughts

I decided to make a blog so I can rant about all the manga I read and hopefully get more people into the medium and perhaps even discover some interesting titles. Granted not everything I will review will be positive, but I will always try to see how a manga could be interesting to other people besides myself as well. Thanks to @Kawasumi for giving me this amazing title for the blog. For my first post I'd like to talk about one of my favorite manga, Prunus Girl This light heart

Manga Chronicles Part 5: Tsujiura-san to Chupacabra

Tsujiura-san to Chupacabra Well, if Karin had good romance for shounen manga, then this one has terrible romance for a shounen manga, almost to the level of Nisekoi in terms of stagnation, but not quite. Anyways, the manga is 35 chapters in length and is made by Sakurai Atsuhita. The premise is that the MC named, basically Hikigaya Hachiman gone oh so wrong, saving a new transfer-student, who's pretty much the perfect student, from danger a few times and they start this fake-datin

**ON REQUEST** Ruri no Ie

Hmm... to be honest, I haven't played many VNs of this type, mostly because they don't really fit my tastes.  This is one of those dark horror/rape/sex training VNs that also happen to be based in the middle of the Cthulhu Mythos universe.  To be precise, this one is based on an island that mirrors Innsmouth in the mythos.  It is ruled by the Mashuu Family, and the protagonist ends up marrying the last daughter of that family, Mizuki.  He also gets stuck with an immense power and the role o

*cries* Soshite Hatsukoi ga Imouto ni Naru

... I'm going to be blunt.  It has been a while (think 2014) since any company has produced a nakige that compares to this one.  The characters, their backgrounds, their personalities, and the setting all come together to form a story of deep affection, pain, and tears that had me crying more than a dozen times throughout the VN. In terms of heroines, this VN's imoutos are the best.  Shinobu is the twisted, obsessive half-yandere, super-capable imouto who adores her niisan (with good reason

The spirit of an older gamer: Why I play games and why other people play games

I've been playing video games more or less constantly for over twenty-five years.  That's a very simple statement that holds a surprising amount of meaning, considering how much video games have changed since I first began playing them. It began with the NES, for me... with Mario, Luigi, and the ducks.  I shot ducks out of the air, I jumped Mario across gaps and on top of turtles, without ever really understanding what was going on.  As a kid, this was fun, seriously.  Understand, this

The Best Eroge Ever

Let's find out then, because I have way too much time to waste to do something ACTUALLY useful, and thus we arrive at this point, with a brand-new mistake I can lament about when I eventually get ripped apart by a group of ravenous 12-year old, overly sexually active fuccboi-weebs who can't see a difference between the totally obviously right opinion and their own. Anyways, It already seems like the greatest thing ever seen by man   I remember when I played Kusoge. I als

Sakura no Mori Dreamers (Clephas returns to the internet)

…Wow.  After the disappointments of last month, it is so nice to encounter such a great VN on my first one of the month this one.  Sakura no Mori Dreamers is a horror/mystery nakige based in a medium-sized Japanese town.  It is primarily focused on the protagonist, Shinji, and his quest to discover the killer of his first love, Madoka.  However, if you ask me if this is a story of revenge in the vein of Hello, Lady, that isn’t the case. Shinji is one of those rarest of things in a VN prot

Compilation of Clannad Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (06/04/2016) For this week title since Clannad was like FF7 in term of popularity (And obviously this week image header was from Clannad, or to be exact Clannad side story), while KEY was like Square but more focused in Visual Novel, I decided to made 'Compilation of Clannad' as my devariation for Compilation of Final Fantasy 7. About the Clannad side story, from the review that I read about Clannad side story, it was contained some past from Clannad characte

Majo Koi Nikki TL Weekly Update 3

Ren   \/ Hello guys! Third weekly update. Things are progressing smoothly and everything's going accord to plan for now. Recruiting is going well, we managed to fill the position for the proofreader (might open another position for it in the future, but not for now) and a new translator came aboard, making the total of five for now. Welcome @Darbury (Proofreader) and @frogstat (translator) and thank you for joining us! Okay, so since several people have asked me this already I'll do a

Bishoujo Mangekyou TL Update 20

GLORIOUS SUMMER VACATION Anyways, I'm somewhat sad about the lack of progress these past two, three weeks, so sorry 'bout that. But to somehow (not really) make up for it, you guys get an update a day earlier. Firstly, no progress on edting/QC/etc., only translation. My break started, but that's not the case for the most, so yeah. I aim the translation to be done in a few weeks, hopefully in one or two, but no promises. It's still rather surprising that I've managed to keep up wit

VN of the Month plans: May Releases

I got asked what I was doing for this blog this month just today, by several people (probably because this is the longest time I've gone without posting since I started this blog). So... I suppose I'll go ahead and tell you. First, the two titles I'm reading on request (though I was planning on doing one anyway).  Sakura no Mori Dreamers (reading now) Ruri no Ie (yes, it is not exactly something I would normally bother with, but he was insistent... sort of like with Maggot Baits)

Gone Home is a visual novel. Deal with it.

This past weekend marked the unofficial start of summer here in the States, and to celebrate, dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster threw down the gauntlet in a major way. The hot dog, it declared, is a sandwich. It consists of bread (the bun) holding some filling (a plump, juicy hot dog). It meets the textbook definition of a sandwich. Therefore, it’s a sandwich. The reaction from Team Hot Dog was swift. “Nooo! That’s not true!” they Luke Skywalkered across the Twiterverse. “Hot dogs are ho

Himeko's epilogue translation to spanish

I know nobody cares about this type of translation in this forum (for obvious reasons, for once the novel is already translated and second nobody really speak spanish in this forum xD) I'm doing a translation of himeko's epilogue and posting it here mostly to keep track of my own translation and have a place to share it. At first it was going to be an eng>spa translation but there are some huge mistakes on the translation itself (specially on the atogaki 1980 story) and also many sent

Ultimate Homeless Girl Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (05/28/2016) Sorry for late blog post here. For the title, this week I choose ultimate title (You knew what I mean if you play Dangan Ronpa) and since the image header was from Homeless School Girl VN, so I'd use Homeless Girl (I'm not using school since the synopsis indicate that the girl couldn't attend school) from the VN title. Okay, about the VN itself, I'd read the VNDB discussion and let's just said that the girl was suffered many rape and humiliation,

Majo Koi Nikki TL Weekly Update 2

(Yes, the text still has to be edited in this one.) Hello guys. Second weekly update of the Majo Koi Nikki TL Project, and I gotta say that things are going pretty well. After passing his test, we've recruited our fourth translator, he'll take care of the h scenes in the game. Thank you @hahiru for joining our ranks! A new website has been done until the old one is restored in order to post the updates there, as well as the overall progress of the project, the members and future plans

My ramblings about stuff.

So... I can't sleep and since I was really bored I decided to write this tips about doing a translation in general (or ramblings whatever you want to call them xD ) this is aimed for those who are starting a project or want to start a new one. *I'll start by saying that If you really want to translate something just do it, don't pay attention to anyone just do it, nobody can stop you from doing it aside from yourself! (and maybe a C&D letter but that's a whole different topic that I wont

Bishoujo Mangekyou TL Update 19

Well, another busy week down the drain. Yeah, I had my last exams this week, so I only got a little bit of translation done, and others in the team got absolutely nothing done. Not that I can really blame them as they were also busy as all hell. But now that all of those things are done, I can finally focus on the translation again. Anyhoo, progress:   Translation: 7/8 script files finished, 8th one 4,7% completed (~83%) Editing: 9,2% QC: 3,1%
