Seems like you really enjoyed Kusari. One question, did you follow the release of the game, or just were curious when I opened up that thread? Because if it's the latter, I might have (involuntarily) influenced you into reading something you enjoyed. And that's good. Of course, everyone should reflect how our tiniest act influences the world, and how our absence is deeply felt in the grand scheme of things. If there's anyone feeling suicidal here, keep this lesson in mind Love

50 translated VNs you should read before you die

If my heart had wings suffered from scene butchering and terrible translation. I could have bought a game without H scenes (like I plan to buy pornless Littlewitch Romanesque version), but they turned it into utter crap. I'm a big Key fan, and began to read Rewrite, but I became bogged down, very interesting concept but poor execution in many places. Will finish reading it, hopefully this year.

I demand Virtue's Last Reward in there. Releasing soon in PC, where it will be truly appreciated, I think. You could remove crap like Sharin no Kuni or Yume Miru Kusuri to make room -
Wasn't there a Sony service where you could purchase PS4 titles for PC? Like an Origin for Sony titles. Should be expensive as frak, but more worth it than buying a whole PS4. Also due to impopularity, it probably derps a lot. Edit: It was called Playstation Now, and seems to only serve PS3 games. Whaaaat.

Hey, got this game on my wishlist, looking good. My question is, will they release the next chapters, or did precisely this policy garner them measly sales? This isn't exactly the most anticipated VN ever.
-
Yup, I suppose the writer is to blame, in this case. The director too, I guess. Edit and PS: I tend to enjoy the more elaborate novels, with 5+ heroines and an interesting concept; from Hoshizora no Memoria to If my heart had wings to Little Busters to Period. Wait... Period didn't have too much of an interesting concept, but it's fine anyways.

A Profile, together with Sharin no Kuni, killed off my desire to read any Akabei Soft games. Or at least, those from that era. I think I played one more by them, but I can't recall which now.

The heroines definitely suck. And if you remove the heroines, what remains? Kaine? Nothing?

Maybe you're missing...

A Profile is as boring and convoluted as you can get. I can't think of any redeeming quality of that game, apart from giving you a +1 on your VN reading history.

I think I left my gun nearby... there. (BANG) ... ....... ............... ............................

There's a lot of violent punks out there so let's believe Nashe's story. Actually I wish it was fake.

I regret to hear this. Yes, violence sucks *this* much. Hope everything turns out well, hang in there! Also, try the Yume Miru Kusuri approach: change schools ASAP, if you can.

Wall of text, man, not reading. But anyway... for me a dating "sim" are those with stats, schedule for the week, and that kind of shit. Like Shira Oka: Second Chances and old proto-visual novels. Visual novels have no gameplay. If for "dating sim" you understand a romance visual novel, with routes and whatnot, that's what most eroge are, I believe that you're punching the Great Wall. This kind of game will always exist and thrive. Remember that eroge is just a visual novel with porn scenes, and most romance games tend to fall under this category.

Blessings for you and your family! Namaste! -
Sharin no Kuni... ugh.

Only two, Amagami (since I saw the anime ages ago), and Steins;Gate 0 on Steam, hopefully...

There is a whole genre dedicated to tear jerking -"nakige". The severity of the tear jerking varies, though, so you should know what you are getting into. "Crescendo" had some interesting stories, the tone is bittersweet at best, also it's an old game with somewhat dated art, if it matters. For true nakige you have the Key brand, from mild "Harmonia" to "Little Busters" to "Rewrite", the heroines never truly die but tend to be throat-deep in depressing shit, this company seems to only do very short or very long games. https://vndb.org/v29 https://vndb.org/v16510 ttps://vndb.org/v5 https://vndb.org/v751

New Profile Fields [Accepting Suggestions]

Excellent idea worthy of a genius girl like Kud. That way it's easier to find potential translators for fan translations based on what languages a given person knows. That way, the project manager could contact the potential translator instead of opening a thread and wait ages for responses. They could always refuse, but then you move to the next person, then to the next... I don't know how popular Fuwa is for recruiting translators but eh, the idea is worth a shot. And the same idea carries on for the people involved in VN creation, for those OELVN projects that sprout everywhere. -
Well Norleas... it's okay not to feel empathy towards this kind of protagonist. That doesn't mean you aren't empathic, of course. Or should you feel empathy towards the gang in A Clockwork Orange? Their "antics" are displayed with a lot of detail, however. But it's also to augment the impact of the story. This kind of protagonist is pretty sociopathic, and sociopaths aren't exactly loved by society, nor do they have an easy time.

Haha! It amuses me to no end how my little thread about Natsu no Kusari influenced several people to read it and enjoy it utterly (though I haven't read it myself, lol). That's what I call "butterfly effect"! One puny mad scientist drops the rock downhill, and chaos ensues! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!
