  1. I don't think this strategy is going to work for them. But they are free to try.
  2. I appreciate the effort Tay but I guess I am not going to use that theme xD Too bright for my eyes, I think I got used to my usual dark Temporal Spectrum Theme and this is the way I like it
  3. Welcome to Fuwa I am still relatively new here so logically I don't remember you anyway But had to check that osu! game you spoke of ... Well, this certainly requires some serious skill to play I am not into this type of games xD As for LOL, I avoid it like the plague that it is, can't really get into it, I am not into MOBA games at all (though I find Overwatch pretty fun to play from time to time xD) ... Anyway, good luck and welcome back to the forum
  4. Happy birthday @Arcadeotic and wish you all the best on your next project
  5. Some of these have English translations, why do you want to read all of them in Japanese? Also, I think Dies Irae is the hardest here, from what I have heard about it.
  6. You are kidding me, right? You want to pay a fan-translator? Man, I understand a little bit of donations and such but paying for a whole TL is just ... simply not a fan-TL!!!! That's a payed-TL!!!! Anyway, this particular VN you are speaking of is on Steam in quite a butchered state right now and it's really sad to see Japanese companies doing this type of things to their fans ... I am not speaking about missing H-scenes, I am speaking about awful translation and you can find evidence of it and I do understand why would somebody want another translation but I believe that paying for a "fan-TL" is not that way. The best option for VN reading right now would be to start learning Japanese and then practicing it with VN reading (with help of machine translators), it's not an unachiavable goal some people claim it to be. That's where you should spend your 500$, enroll to a course and start learning Japanese! That's a far better investment in my opinion, that way you will not need a single fan-translator in your lifetime! And you will be able to read whatever Japanese VN you want, and yes, with included H-scenes!
  7. ... Me - sad ... Sorry, I made a long post and totally forgot to copy it before clicking "Submit Reply" ... I forgot that for some reason Fuwa always requires you to kind of login again after an hour of your online activity has passed (not really login, you just go through standard Cloudflare redirect) ... So, yeah, all is lost I hate this, this is the second time it happened to me on Fuwanovel but oh my, I guess now I will learn that I should always copy it before clicking "Submit" ... Anyway, I thank you for your recommendation on the book by Yurichev, I have downloaded it and will definitively check it out. As for your tutorial, I think I will try to elaborate on it some other time, I don't have energy to type it all again
  8. I have never seen you or your previous guide but I can safely say that this is probably the most interesting thread that I have stumbled upon on Fuwanovel and right now I am reading both your new guide and the previous one! Thank you very much for your effort on trying to explain the process, I am actually very interested in the problem of VN hacking Edit: I have just finished reading both tutorials ... I need to be honest with you, this kind of stuff requires some basic background knowledge on the matter for the learner, l think I am not able to reproduce what you have done (I didn't try it for myself but will probably when I get the time) ... What I find hard in your tutorial is that it actually requires a lot of background knowledge on the matter, for example, you already know some specifics about data types and what means what and that's why you can easily deduce some things ... I for example don't have that kind of knowledge and would have never been able to deduce some of the things you mentioned because I lack knowledge in that field and was never studying reverse engineering xD ... For extraction purposes I always use tools provided by others and that's all I am able to do now because this type of thing you are able to pull out is several light years far away from me Though I do find these type of things interesting, I would definitively need more knowledge on the matter, this stuff is not for beginners! XD Edit2: Hypothetically asking but ... do you have an idea how would you, for example, put the scripts or images back in the ".ykc" container? Edit3: Okay, this will be the last edit, you got me interested on the matter and so I decided to learn more and I stumbled upon this which kind of reminded me of your guide and right now I am looking for all kinds of study material on the matter ... I found some "Reverse Engineering" books but I think they are specifically written for malware analysis like this book for example and I am trying to find something with more practical approach on the matter of unknown file extraction and reading aswell as putting it all back together (yeah, I am interested mostly in VN hacking xD)
  9. That kind of makes me sad, I never heard of that ... Last thing I heard was "that she's okay and alive" (somebody posted that on this forum as an answer to somebody that asked) ... Anyway, thanks @littleshogun to pointing to this thread, and thank you @Zalor for this entertaining class of history One can feel the true nostalgia from your words
  10. I know of Fuwa's existence since at least 2013 but I never really wondered about why Aaeru decided to call it "Fuwanovel" ... But thinking about it now, if I am not mistaken here, "Fuwa" by itself has meaning in Japanese, I think it's a mimetic word to describe something fluffy or soft ... So by that logic, I think Aaeru had in mind "soft novels" (Fuwa+Novel) and if we go a little bit further, I could say "Softer Novel Translations" since the original idea behind Fuwanovel was to provide fan-made translation patches for VNs, Aaeru wanted to make some kind of a hub for all fan-translators ... And oh my, what a backlash she got I still remember people flaming her back in the day, that's why Fuwa was blacklisted as a pirate site and if you remember earlier period of this site, you know that it was providing torrents for all fan-translated VNs
  11. I had a bad gateway problem an hour ago. So it's apparently happening more often now ... @Tay what's going on? O_O
  12. Nobody here seems to mention MG's announcements here. Though I agree that it's probably nothing worth mentioning (exception being maybe the 2D fighter game though I am not interested in that one at all) ... All in all, I agree with the statement somebody posted above that all big announcements were on Otakon and AX.
  13. Oh, I see Thanks for the clarification ...
  14. What is the prize for 1000 posts on Fuwanovel? xD I am assuming it has something to do with changing that status rank title just below the username? xD I see mine says "Fuwa Senior" And your says "Newbie" (I guess that's custom input, no?) ...
  15. I see what you mean Yeah, it's a shame though that it happens but even the best writers don't always make decent products.
  16. Well, I could have kind of expected that, not all VNs are good as their anime-counterpart and vice-versa I do intend to stick with the anime (my Japanese sucks so I wouldn't even be able to read that VN anyway xD) ... But you piqued my interest right now, the writer you mentioned, Tanaka Romeo, has worked on some very famous titles like Cross Channel, parts of Rewrite and so on ... While Takahiro is the writer behind Majikoi ... How did the combination of these two seemingly good writers managed to create a bad VN By the way, it looks like Romeo is also associated with 07th Expansion since he worked on this title too.
  17. Glad to be of help Speaking of Steins;Gate, if I ever get to read it, should I go for the recently released Steam's Edition or the JAST one? Are there any major differences between them? For a second I thought you were speaking about Sakura titles but then wondered why "well-known and -regarded author" was put there ... And then I checked the VN I linked ... Maaaaaaan O__O This is by the developers of Majikoi ... You were speaking about their writer?
  18. Oh, okay, thanks for the recommendation, it actually has good reviews so I will definitively check it out I see it has both an anime and an all-ages VN with that name ... I bookmarked the show Thank you for all the recommendations
  19. No, I didn't. I didn't watch a single anime since 2015 I think (except Tokyo Ghoul that I watched relatively recently). I am more into visual novels these days, anime got me worned out and I can't make myself pickup a single title to watch these days. Anyway, I have a backlog of anime titles that I still didn't watch and I am "planning" to watch it someday. I will add that Shirobako to the list too (from what I have gathered, it's an anime about ... anime industry? xD) ... Definitively not, I don't see it happening anytime soon. I understood your point.
