  1. 5/10 It's cute, but nothing else. Yeah, he'll be all bones if he keeps that up.
  2. Again, not only is Valve pretty influential as the console market sees the PC as something completely different (even though we could totally be the only "console" and everything would be just as fine). People who're looking for consoles are the people who aren't looking for PC's. So it's not a competitor, but a partner who may actually increase the sales, hence them affording to allow cross-multiplayer.
  3. You can wish, but those two are in competition for the console market. It'd be suicidal for either of them to do such a thing.
  4. If I do, I go into "troll" mode, where I make fun of all aspects in that visual novel. That's how I managed to finish Heaven's Feel. The ending was completely wasted on me. But generally, you are correct. I tend to avoid dark visual novels.
  5. I don't need such a dark thing. I'm here for the sweet "and they lived happily ever after" ending.
  6. Asking to be bashed? How can you disprove an opinion? Isn't that, like, impossible? I'm going to have to admit that it is true that a route is a different thing from the character. And Hanako's route very nearly won out in being my favourite, but Hisao learning sign language to be able to talk with Shizune hit me right on the heart. I really enjoyed that. It was the leg up necessary for it to become my favourite route.
  7. From what I've read around the internet, it would seem my opinion isn't a very popular one, but my favourite route is Shizune's. This is because of some very weird reasons. Her character is the main reason why I prefer her route. First, the glasses. Any character with glasses immediately gets bonus points in my book. Furthermore, she has a sprite where she fiddles with them, how I really love that (I fiddle with mine all the time too, for no good reason). She's also a student council president. Could it get any better? Yes! Her personality is also not a simple stereotype. She's a mix between the serious class rep and a normal girl who enjoys having fun and winning arguments. Battles of wits and winning arguments are also something I very much enjoy doing myself. So I'm naturally drawn to her character more than the others. But here's the icing on the cake. She's mute. Yeah, that is a very important reason for me. I don't get why, but it simply fascinates me. Not saying being mute is good, or that I'd like to be mute, but I really seem to like it in fiction. Such a shame it's so rare. Mute people usually have to come up with interesting ways of communicating or act a bit differently in some situations. I like that. The route itself has nothing to do with the fact that it's my favourite. It's just the characters therein.
  8. I'm a craven, I don't go for bad endings. But I'm still a completionist, so you can see the internal conflict here. I do everything but bad endings. Where have I purposely gotten a bad ending? Fate/Stay night, but even when I did, it was so I could get bonus content. (And I didn't actually read any of those bad endings, so Take That!, game)
  9. I was about to post "How would you know?" but even I am human and am bound by bias... If the anime miraculously turns out to be better, you lose nothing by reading the visual novel first.
  10. My favourite Visual Novel to this day is Grisaia no Kajitsu. Well... I say this, but there was a whole bit I skipped, about half of Angelic Howl... I've also never done the bad endings, but who needs those anyways? As for why, it'd be for the standard reasons. Characters are awesome: It starts off great, with a superb protagonist. Yuuji keeps a straight face in the middle of all the shenanigans. He kicks anyone's arse in combat. He has a dark past. And he resolves situations in the most mind-boggingly roundabout way possible. Furthermore, his view of the world is so distorted that the way he interprets an ordinary situation can both teach you something or make your drop jaw at how he reached that conclusion. Because his thoughts are all explained. He uses logic to come up with his solutions, and we can see his logic process until he gets to the conclusion. And this is all hilarious as well. Michiru is a girl I really like. That comic relief character, who's also there mostly for slapstick humor. How can one not love her? "She's too annoying!" *gets shot* It's also really nice to see her interact with other characters. Sachi and her have a really nice dynamic. Fake Tsundere vs real Tsundere also has great potential. Makina works with all the characters, since it's usually one sided insults and Amane tries to act as the straight man, but that doesn't really work when she herself is twisted. Sachi is a cutie-pie who manages to make the most hilarious comments. Her humor is usually connected to her being overly dedicated to fulfilling all requests, lacking common sense and keeping a straight face while saying absurd things. Makina is a brat with no common sense. Spoiled would also be a fitting word. She does what she wants and says what she wants with no regards for the others. A huge pervert, or at least tries to come off as one, Amane and Yuuji usually put her in her place. Amane tries to come off as a big sister type, the reliable and "normal" woman in the academy. She might not know it herself, but we quickly notice that she isn't too good on the common sense department, either. Finally there's Yumiko. A woman with common sense, but sees no need for it. She does what she wants and she isn't particularly interested in getting along with the other members of the academy. Not that she's incapable of doing so, mind you. Warning, her route breaks her "main character". From the moment you enter her route, she switches to Yumiko2. It's a different personality based on her original one, but without the common sense and maturity. Routes are awesome: I can't really comment on this, because any piece of paper with "good story" written on it will pass as a masterpiece through my incapable eyes, but I can almost guarantee a few things: -You'll either love or hate the common route. This is because of how long and comedy focused it is. -You'll love at least 2 routes. The other 3 will vary, but you won't really be able to say that any of them is garbage to be fed to the pigs.
  11. I see... So Tay set up some plans in case he didn't have the time or ability to make them work himself, but he can't put them in practice because he isn't present. Now those are some efficient backup plans for his absence. More seriously though, I don't have much of an opinion on this matter. He is currently the head of the website, but he is unable to run it. Either we patiently wait for him to come back, whenever that may be, or we do things ourselves. I don't really care, since I don't have any plans to leave anytime soon nor do I have any pressing issues with the forum as it is now. (God, such an ungentlemanly young man I am. It completely slipped my mind.) Get well, Tay.
  12. Looking at that list, I honestly think that it corroborates my argument of him being a frustrated person over this thread having degenerated and the translation being in jeopardy. Perhaps he checks this site periodically and he didn't yet hear about the new thread. Annoyed and disheartened he vents in here, at us people, possible causes of this whole situation. Yet another possibility is that he favourited this topic, meaning he didn't even notice when the thread changed it's name. It's all speculation though. It does give him a tragic background and everything. And it justifies my argument, more importantly. *ahem* I'll just let it drop. Answering questions and complicating things are my traits. I just did what was natural of me and leave it at that. Had you expected anything else? I'm always mature and composed.(Don't dig up my dreadfully ooc rant pages back, that thing is horrid)
  13. Honestly, I'm terribly biased with both the voice actor, and eloquent people, so I wouldn't take my opinion as anything more than that, an opinion.
  14. Doesn't assertive mean that the person gives off a confident and strong-willed attitude? True enough, on retrospect, my attitude was more that of a routine worker just doing his job. I also like how you very unsubtly dropped the discussion. Good think Zeno's here to light it up again.
  15. HOLD IT! I apologize, when I said "Assuming" I had meant that that was an hypothetical scenario in the most exaggerated scenario possible. There's no way you stingy people would ever ignore a comment like that on your thread without backlash. I didn't actually mean that was the best scenario. In fact, I specified what I thought was the best scenario afterwards. As for how this particular situation went, I believe it's one of the best turn of events. After being insulted a good deal, he got what he wanted, and now he can finally so off. Oh? That's weird. I would've thought I was plenty assertive. On the internet people can't really walk all over you, since they can be easily ignored. (I'm also a specialist at ignoring people in person)
  16. Of course it wasn't. The chance of being praised by me is nearly null,. Unless it's sarcastically, but one would usually not be able to tell the difference. So it would essentially be a futile effort.
  17. Aha! Good job. Yes, that would be correct. You seem to have misinterpreted my post. What I said is that he was trying to make me believe in his single-minded opinion. So I did the same. I gave him a taste of my single-minded opinion. It was meant as revenge and payback, not to actually be an argumentative post. Unfortunately, it seems that not catching upon that fact, Cole decided to keep up with the discussion, and I am not one to drop a good conversation. A huge majority of the posts and requests on this thread have gotten what they wanted while also being nice. However, that negative minority is the one which will leave a more lasting impression? I would be inclined to agree. It did stick out like a sore thumb after all your tart replies. But when one person gets what he wants by insulting people, it does not mean that is the more efficient way. In fact, there is virtually no advantage to being rude, hence me just not understanding why people would prefer to do so. In fact, you're likely to get more backlash, as he did. Assuming everyone replied nicely to him, would that encourage this kind of behaviour? Possibly. But it still has no advantage over being nice. In fact, the most advantageous is being terse. "Just get to the point, I have no time for niceties". Insulting someone requires more effort and everything! ...That aside. I have to concede there. He got what he wanted, that is undeniable. He was also rude, that too, is undeniable. It doesn't mean he got one because of the other, but it is irrefutable that is also works, even if it has no advantages. ...You lost me here. I understand that you're making use of a stereotype, but what is it you mean when you say I retreat a lot? With this, I'll have to disagree. Saying screw you is worse than doing what he wants. While doing what he wants could possibly induce more people into acting in the same shameful way, replying to a person like that, foul-tempered as he is, would only spark an argument and corrupt the mood. This particular guy seems to be ignoring us, thankfully. The best course of action would be to ignore it. And if you deem it necessary, report it. I'll also mention, again, that self-satisfaction was the motive for that post, or I would've simply ignored him. I forgot to mention one thing (it's past the time where my brain is working at full power), trolling was one of the factors I mentioned before. Please remember that it's objective is to get a reaction. Usually, aggressive. If you assume what he did was indeed trolling, then insulting him back would hardly be the correct approach to take.
  18. The very least you could do is try again. Giving up is hardly the way to do things. What is it you meant? Explain it differently if you need to.
  19. Cole is the one trying to make me change my opinion. He has two choices at the moment. Quit and let things rest, or prove to me that his opinion is "correct", which means that it's actually a fact. It is only natural that I will make him struggle as much as possible and gall him. After all, I am aiming for the former option. It would be all for naught if I were the kind of person who refuses to change his opinions, but with a proper argument, you can convince me of a lot of things. Also, Doki is hating on this thread for a good reason. In his eyes, and from the information we can assume he had, this thread degenerated into chatter and his precious translation project was lost forever. But I didn't ignore that fact either, I told him to look at the topic title next time he posts. The post has been deleted? That means it has been socially declared as an unappropriated post, since the user who wrote it couldn't have been the one to delete it. Furthermore, he has posted two different posts, both of which included heavy insults and profanities. One is a coincidence, but two is more like a pattern. I will concede that this particular person has yet to show any positive traits or redeeming qualities. We can only conclude that he has none due to lack of information. Please note. Nowhere have I ever stated that what he's doing should be allowed. I have not forgiven him for his attitude. I simply didn't pay any heed to it, which is different. Am I protecting him? Yes, you could say that. I am trying to prove that one rude comment does not mean he is a mean person and, consequently, that he didn't deserve to have me point him in the direction of the thread he requested. You seem to believe that me pointing him in the right direction is wrong. But is it really? If, as you say, people like him should not be forgiven, then wouldn't pointing him in the right direction be a way to get rid of him? It puts you in a sour mood when you see such ill-spirited comments about this thread you love, right? Then there's an easy solution, get rid of such people. Acting dastardly toward him is not the way to go. Being a gentleman will not only increase his opinion of us as he might actually seek redemption for being so mean in the first place. Even if he does not, he got what he wants, he has no further reason for staying here polluting this thread. I'd say I was simply being mannerly and efficient, nothing else. You may want to get into the question of whether such people deserve to get what they want. Perhaps not, but that was not my point, because as I said, I care not for his attitude. I apologize for not using emoticons, but do I seem to be in a bitter mood? Because I certainly am not. But the discussion is the whole point, precisely this: An argument every now and then is good for your circulation.
  20. More evidence has been presented. Now you've got an argument. Good job. What are the circumstances behind him calling someone a "fag"? Had he been insulted or provoked? Did he have any argument of his own and added such comments for emphasis? Or did he insult someone without context? These are all factors in deciding a person's character based on a message he posted on the internet. You - as in me. can't - I cannot change - I cannot change his - I cannot change Colekitt's single-minded - I cannot change Colekitt's singleminded opinions onto - There's something wrong here. This word does not fit with the rest of the sentence. you - '' ''
  21. Have you lost your head? You can't bring a woman to this room in the middle of the night! Oh, you have lost your head.
  22. You just made a mistake on the internet. You've lost the interwebz, gg. And yes, I would've been surprised if we didn't have freedom of speech. That's one of the things that got thrown around since my childhood, considering we had a revolution quite recently.
  23. Indeed. There's not a day my father doesn't speak ill of his boss when he gets home. Should he be prohibited to vent his thoughts online? It's a pretty darn stupid thing to do, let there be no doubt, but should the law intervene? I'm not talking about image here. Doing things society doesn't approve of or speaking badly of those with more influence than you doesn't do any wonders for your image, both online and offline. Us uncultured commoners don't know these things. We are told by our parents that we have freedom of speech and we just go along with it, eventually telling our children too. We don't go around examining and studying all the laws on the subject.
