  1. Huh, what a coincidence. Just today I sent you guys an e-mail with some concerns I had about this VN and a proposal. Regardless of your response, I'll make sure to note down my thoughts here when I eventually finish it.
  2. I came by to say that, now that I'm finally playing this game again, I've started laughing out loud every time I read a 'tricky' in the translation. I have no idea why, but it certainly is funny.
  3. Sexual humour may be within the field of Grisaia's expertise, and although it is not a style I much prefer, I can try to appreciate it on occasion. Unfortunately, The Leisure of Grisaia contains so very much of it, it feels like they've hardly attempted to do anything other. This is not a problem I felt I had with other titles in the series, as their humour varied wildly from absurd situations to, quite frankly, just very funny exchanges and conversations between characters. Here all these exchanges appear to make mention of a sexual element or other at some point. Perhaps what's lacking is Yuuto's utter immunity to such matters, as he does not pay them much heed and ensures the conversation quickly moves forward. And then gets stuck at the first mention of common sense.
  4. Speaking of Monday morning, my schedule is such that I always wake up before my alarm rings, even if I turn it off during the weekends. And so, this lovely morning I woke up thinking it was Sunday. Can you imagine the despair?
  5. I'd say in a vast quantity of them the gameplay is the focus. Taking the most famous example, calling Sengoku Rance a nukige would be ridiculous. I myself have also played Rance 2 and Kichikuou Rance; the latter is much like Sengoku Rance, and the former is more in the style of what these upcoming ones should be like. Still not a nukige. Definitely a lot of H-Scenes, and closer to a nukige than Sengoku and Kichikuou, but most of the time you're grinding monster (girls?) or trying to figure out which convoluted set of actions you must take to continue on your adventure. Frankly, this is as adventure game as it gets for me. I honestly don't play these types of games often, but Rance has a very specific type of charm to him. Edit: For instance, Rance VI is classified as "Long (30-50 hours)". I'd be damn well surprised if sex were the focus. Edit 2: Especially interesting is how the gameplay is never quite the same, either. Some are simple turn based Attack/Defend/Spell/Item, others introduce new elements to vary it up, some are strategy world conquering games like Sengoku and Kichikuou.
  6. Sounds like a great game. Wish I could play it in English.
  7. I've been playing Kichikuou Rance lately. Gosh I like the OSTs in these games, and I like Rance's overall character. Not as somebody who's to be admired, but as somebody who gets away with so much, even if he is decently capable, his luck is otherworldly.

    Which do you prefer?

And its "I'm superior" and "I'm the king" vibe or

and its "I'm coming for you ladies" vibe?

    1. Shikomizue

      Shikomizue

I actually prefer the second one, you probably know the reasons why.

  8. She looks like Yumiko? I can see some semblance but that's more of an artstyle thing. Same artist tends to produce similar characters. Add to it the fact that she's using a generic school uniform and that the lighting has made her hair colour seem darker and she may look a bit like Yumiko. I don't really think so, though. I'll also take the time to restate I'm entirely hype and will enjoy this even if it's terrible, or perhaps especially because it is.
  9. You mean in Japanese?
  10. "Ruined"... You're not getting any better than this in English, so if you want to read it, this is it.
  11. Based on other people's reports, it does not appear to be particularly true. The CGs remain risqué, so I'd be bloody surprised if the text received any major alteration. Edit: Colour me bloody surprised.
  12. I'd make some really long description on why I think it's good and whatnot, but honestly, I'm tired today, so have a link. https://vndb.org/v7803
  13. Watched this again just the other day. 9/9.
  14. Because the first experience is magical. You feel like you've got full control and whatnot. Like you can do whatever you want. Clannad actually has a lot of clues hidden in its bad endings. It's just... It'd take more time than anyone considers it worth to get every ending without external aid. So yes. I'd recommend a first playthrough on your own, then use a walkthrough.
  15. I feel today's a terribly appropriate day to post this.
  16. Damn. I forgot I'd for sure be in the minority who is interested this "drivel". Especially after hearing it has routes. Somewhat discouraging to see, but I'll just blame it on the fact that I'm limiting myself to reading posts on an Eroge site that values H-scenes and hates on the Sakura series disproportionately.
  17. I have no particular reason to object. I'll play anything with romance in it, after all. If I managed to play IMHHW, and the English there was incomprehensible on occasion, this one should be just fine. The screenshots illicit no suspicions of incompetence.
  18. This one's the real teaser:

This one doesn't need a caption.

  19. Dracu-Riot! Teaser:

    Not cross-eyed at all.

    1. havoc

      havoc

its a good novel, one of the few where i actually bothered to finish all routes.

  20. 3 out 6 can't be that bad.
  21. So I tried to woo some girls myself, but was met with this image:

  22. True enough. I don't believe the versions must be the same, but I'm sure there are people who do. With my very limited Japanese knowledge, I guess I get a bit of both worlds ^^
  23. Putting aside the quality of the voice acting, they don't need to say the same things, just convey the general story really. I actually liked the English script for the Havencraft leader. I played it with Japanese dubbing, and whereas the Japanese version seemed more lost and acceptant of her fate having to fight the monsters, the English version kept saying "Wait, we don't need to fight, I don't want to hurt you" and I really liked that. Purely subjective of course. Seeing as how my no amulets deck seems to lack effectiveness (though I won a match with it! Out of some four) I am trying one with all my amulets. Some 33, I think. This one seems a bit more effective, though I'm a bit too vulnerable with nothing to defend my leader. Time to spam ward cards next!
