What Video Games Are You Playing Right Now?
Kenshin_sama replied to solidbatman's topic in Gaming Talk
I played D3 when it first launched, but quit after a couple months. A lot of people have been talking about how it's gotten better, so I may just pick it back up again. -
It's probably because I haven't watched much of ~monogatari, but I didn't think Shinobu would be popular enough to win against Taiga. I'll probably never see the appeal in Ryuuko. Holo seems like an interesting character. I need to watch Spice and Wolf one day. Yay, Yoko and Kurisu~

That ending scene in Hanayamata was just absolutely wonderful. I had a hunch this would be good before it aired, and it was actually spot-on this time. XD It's not that often that I consistently enjoy an anime, and what's even more great was that it had so much impact in the end. They're both at a close tie for me too, but I'll probably have to lean a little more towards Hana. She's incredibly energetic, air-headed, and very motivational. Naru's development was really grand, and that's what pulled her in to a close second. I really liked the rest of the cast too. :3

It might be because of this map, but I actually kinda like playing squares. :> https://osu.ppy.sh/b/19498 I didn't think I'd ever manage to get a combo like this, but I finally I somehow nailed it. Working on Reiwai Terrorism hard for the chart now, but that map's kinda kicking my ass. I'll FC it eventually. Still top 40 at least. o/

Holy crap, good find. You're right, the setting is ridiculous, but pretty funny in a way. Definitely perfect for its 'intents and purposes'. :> So lewd though~ Gyuunyuu-sensei is a genius at ecchi.

Yeah, that's why I try to keep my expectations low for sequels. They can take way too long to happen, and sometimes they may not even be that good. I haven't watched it yet, but I'm actually kind of glad the last episode of Captain Earth is finally out and I can finally stop watching this. I had a lot of optimism for this anime for most of the series, but it completely let me down towards the end. The characters were still interesting, but their development was really stale. The plot never made any more sense than it did at the beginning, either. Completely wasted potential on what could have been another Eureka Seven. =/ At least the visuals were still top-notch.

I agree, the romance wasn't the main focus of the first season (not so sure about the 2nd), but it was still a focus. I'm a romance enthusiast, so I hate it when there's no conclusion to a romance between a pairing I really care about. I remember reading a friendship-themed romance manga that had a focus, a steady progression, and a conclusion to its romance. It's definitely something that can be done to improve the quality of the story. Okay, I probably could have worded that better. The serious developments can be light-hearted, but it shouldn't be excessive; there needs to be a balance. I guess it may not feel that way for everybody, but chibis are meant to be used playfully. If you include a playful element in a serious environment, it's objectively a clash. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying KnT is a bad anime in the least. I actually think it's really good for what it does well at. It's just that some of its flaws were really bothersome to me.
-
It is close, but I wouldn't necessarily call it one. But even then, being a rom-com still wouldn't justify that type of direction. Rom-coms don't even have to be funny (and they usually aren't), they just need to instill a certain light-hearted atmosphere to compliment the romance. That said, it can be considered a flaw when the light-hearted elements clash with the development scenarios.
-
I didn't mean with the number of chibis, but the placement of them. Like serious development stuff. I wouldn't even mind being completely bombarded with chibis as long as they fit the scene they're in.

Onii-chan daisuki! PS: I'm just experimenting with a site for now to see if it'll keep the hotlink. Let me know if the images break. Edit: Damn, looks like this one isn't an exception. Re-uploading. Edit2: Links fixed.

Oh man, if only I had patience for this kind of thing. The friendship in KnT still saved it for me, but I sincerely wished for better romance pacing in this series. And while they were definitely cute at times, I think they went a little overboard with the chibis. -.- It's been a while since I watched it, so I think I'm just about ready to watch the sequel now that my frustration's cleared up. Seriously though, having a focused romance without conclusion is annoying. I've even seen a harem series pull off a conclusive romance (Shuffle). You mean 'catch up', right? It'll probably be a few (maybe 30) years before anyone can finish One Piece.

I wouldn't even worry about it. Doesn't matter too much. It's hard to tell what caused a sudden rank change unless you're in the top 100 or something. Also, started trying to compete at charts too. This could actually be really good practice for me~ I'm kind of surprised I could get in the top 40 at all. So far, there's only one player in the top 40 that's ranked lower than me. He's actually beating me too. -.- Well, that's okay, FC'ing Cutie Panthy on hard should pull me ahead of him. Been getting much better at FC'ing after trying this, so I guess playing competitively helps me play better. I also tend to get that way when I can get into a leaderboard with only an FC on a new map. One of the chart maps turned out to be my 2nd best performance too. I was 1 hit short of an SS for it, but the 99.8% I got on Bonfire was worth 51 pp.

I'm looking to pick up Persona now. Do I want to start from the beginning, or does it not matter? Want to get into P3 first if possible. -

Sweet deal. Btw, I've been a little curious how the chart system works. I tried looking around the Osu website and their forums, but haven't really found anything. I know the rank is based off scores you've accumulated on the selected maps for that month. Can you get those points from multiple diffs, or does it only apply to the hardest? And when the maps are selected for the month, do they have a period in which they're locked out for others to rank? I'm thinking of giving this a try once I get better.
-
Seriously? Shit, that's like my best role. ;_; Oh well, just throw me wherever.

I wanna be a tutorial NPC!

Pentinor, congrats on the monthly ranking! https://osu.ppy.sh/p/chart?ch=MONTH1408

Don't do that. You should at least try to read it until you get tired of it.

Oh man, I hate when that happens. I noticed that the less soda you have in the bottle, the more watered down it gets from the fridge. Main reason why I prefer soda cans since they stay fresher longer. That and I actually like the taste of soda mixed with aluminum. It probably has something to do with the amount of air in the container. Since it's in a cold environment, there's the possibility of it condensing into small bits of water and mixing with the soda. Not particularly sure though, I haven't done anything science-related in a while.

I could have worded that better. What I meant was that UBW fans consider that route infinitely better than HF, and they generally bash Sakura as well.
-
Not sure how it is anywhere else, but I know there's a lot of Sakura hate from UBW fans on MAL. Seriously, just let me like my waifu and move on. ;_; Good thing I'm not involved with that forum anymore. ^^

I guess it depends on how you interpret his intentions, but my first thought was that he was doing it to be funny. I really did get a good laugh at his exaggerations too, lol. And yeah, that video made me want to play Gunvolt too. This guy's good.
