  1. Huh, apparently MangaGamer is a pretty good partner if you want to get the word out. That promo was way more effective than I would have imagined.
  2. Oh no! Games get dropped by fan translators at all sorts of progress levels for a huge variety of reasons. Complaining about not getting these free fan translation patches is one of the most obnoxiously entitled things you could do. Don't do this.
  3. I use those for a lot of things and the only issue I had was with sites that require recurring payments, there's a specific method of billing for those which some services use that those kinds of prepaid cards don't support. Kickstarter isn't one of those. I never actually backed a project on kickstarter with one of those cards before but they specifically said prepaid cards will work, so... I mean, if it fails, then just use them for other online purchases instead. You said you use those cards for other things, right? So how much risk is there really in trying?
  4. I find it weird that you find that weird. I guess it's weird that they say it instead of keeping that fact hidden like everyone else does, but it's pretty normal that things aren't fully tested months before launch!
  5. ?? This is the time they should be testing it on windows 10. And they're going to. I don't get what you're mad about. edit: Like seriously, I'm really confused here.
  6. A lotta people here and elsewhere are freaking out over the most basic of kickstarter trends. The downward trend in progress is perfectly normal and expected. Granted, it's still a low amount overall, and that's why people were pessimistic even though it got 30% in 5 or so days. But it seems like Sekai Project listened! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sekaiproject/root-double-before-crime-after-days-xtend-edition/posts/1464485?ref=backer_project_update New update includes additional goods to the tiers, they're now throwing in a stainless steel mug, a t-shirt, a messenger bag, and a blanket. I feel like a HSN salesman here.
  7. They have not said definitively whether or not there will be a delay, but I believe I recall them remarking that there should at the very least be much less of one next time around because all of the issues that caused a months-long delay last time have been resolved. The fact of the matter is that they work on these one at a time, and they're going to work on the all-ages version first and will probably release that when it's done, ahead of the 18+ version. Incidentally, MangaGamer is currently learning how it's like to work with Front Wing as they're taking their sweet time on Himawari's programming.
  8. The kickstarter page is the best place to get up to date information, since they update it with any progress they have to share. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sekaiproject/the-grisaia-trilogy-three-huge-visual-novels-for-p/updates Most recent word was from last week, Meikyuu is 75% translated.
  9. It's a bug with the theme that's actually been around since the ipb4 update a couple months back. Sometimes it will give you the wrong colors. Something new that's happening to me is that I have to redo the theme customization every time I restart my computer. It's admittedly a really minor issue.
  10. It honestly sounds like you botched the upgrade process in some way. You said you deleted all of your programs and registry? Why would you do that? Stuff like that is going to cause a lot of things to not work. You can upgrade windows perfectly fine without doing that.
  11. Yeah, okay, I'm glad this isn't that, as the way that other ZE-inspired game handles things really rubs me the wrong way. I hope Exogenesis turns out well despite all of the production problems they experienced.
  12. Why did they make the update announcing the release window show up for backers only? I wish I knew about that June estimate earlier in the week when I wrote post about 2016's VNs. You'd think they'd want people to know about it. Is this also the Kickstarter that conned people into thinking that it was directly tied to Zero Escape 3 and that backing it totally meant backing ZE3? edit: Nope. (see below)
  13. I don't think Ruriko is very good and I don't know why people like her.
  14. People in the west love games like Root Double, though. The infinity series was very popular, and the Zero Escape series became one of the very few VNs to achieve actual mainstream success in the west. If they get the word out that Root Double is something similar to ZE, they could possibly garner a lot more interest. And it has around the same number of votes on VNDB as the game you mentioned, which I've never heard of until now, so I wonder what your metric for popularity is. But really, this all comes down to what the translators themselves want to translate. That seems to take top priority most of the time. But, this is the Libra thread, so let's try to stay a little bit on topic here. I'm actually curious as to how MiKandi Japan entered into a relationship with XERO and why they chose Libra as their first VN to translate. Have they talked about this anywhere?
  15. Yeah, there's pretty close to a zero percent chance of this one failing at this point. They were probably already on track for reaching the goal, but the surge from the cross promotion with Root Double was pretty crazy. I'm sure at least MiKandi Japan is happy with how that went. Sekai Project, on the other hand...
  16. They are a series, but order isn't particularly important. They all contain different characters with different stories. From order of release they go Inganock, then Sharnoth, then Gahkthun (with some untranslated releases in between.
  17. Sekien no Inganock. Incredibly good atmosphere. Bonus: Unlike everything Clephas mentioned, it has an English translation!
  18. The most you get is the rest of the cast playfully sneering at the protagonist. Comyu sort of almost goes into the finer details of a high schooler going out with a middle schooler, but then avoids the topic with little more than some comical denial from the protagonist ("I'm not a lolicon!"). They always avoid referring to pedophilia outright and substitute lolicon for pedophile in these instances. Because all heroines are totally 18 or older, yep. Actually, that's pretty much the main reason why you will never see pedos get punished for their actions in eroge, because all characters have to be 18 or older according to their legal disclaimers, and they can't break that pretense.
  19. The posts that were lost were far more pessimistic, lol. I think it will probably be fine.
  20. One of my comments here that were lost to the nether was about how Sekai Project are still pulling in a good number of backers for this, they are just backing for the bare minimum or close to it. It's almost certainly because the tiers are shit. They really need to think about offering more options. But it's hard, they probably budgeted things around how much money they'd be spending on reward fulfillment, and adding more will eat away at other aspects of the budget. You have to balance out how much overfunding you expect extra goods to give you versus how much you have to spend on producing and shipping them. I hope they at least think about this and don't allow the campaign to stagnate.
  21. I'd actually call that the best case scenario. It could easily slip to 2017.
  22. @Zidan209 Yeah, no, those sites are definitely not legal and their legal disclaimers are full of shit.
  23. That image is cool because it looks like Sayaka has no torso.
  24. If you want "real" drama, you won't really get much of that at all here. I get the feeling that Yuzusoft actively tries to avoid serious drama.
