  1. You're awesome, thanks! And with that, I can say this change was a very positive one. Thank you Tay for listening to my dumb requests.
  2. try with this one http://i.imgur.com/3EeKkC6.gif This is great, and thank you for this, but it looks like the editing process caused the file size to inflate beyond the limits.
  3. Bigger, it was 90x90 before tonight.
  4. Unfortunately IPB seems intent on making my desired avatar look like crap no matter what. http://i.imgur.com/ubruG00.gif The built-in cropping system is straight up refusing to do anything, so I'll have to edit the image manually but I don't know how with gifs. Maybe someone here could help me? That would be really cool if so.
  5. Who is buying this game for Super Sonico? I haven't heard of anyone doing that. She was barely marketed as being part of it.
  6. That was a fun stream, thank you Ren. Also I'm glad that I asked you to show us your asses, that was a... fulfilling moment. To everyone else, that was a special stream-exclusive feature just for us. Maybe if you tune in next time, he'll give us another glimpse. I enjoyed it even though I only manage to see the part. Their translation is very fluent and easy to understand. They're on the professional level as I can say. Agreed. I'll give all of the credit to the beta testers, they sure did a bang-up job! There were (almost) no errors! edit: Okay, okay, I was one of the beta testers, along with Tiag. I'm finally allowed to say these things without Keisuke abducting me and sending me to a soviet-era gulag. I feel like I've barely done anything in comparison to Tiagof, but the real credit goes to the boys over at The Oxford Comma is Superior Subs. Their translation really is great. Today we saw just how gosh darn long this game's routes are. Hinata's is the second longest. Ren played for four and a half hours and got maybe a bit less than halfway through. Maybe next time we'll see the confession!

It will likely be planetarian sized.
  8. I don't think S is better, either. I wrote a lot of stuff on why like eight to ten months ago in this thread. The gist of it being that it introduced too many characters that didn't amount to much and spent too much time developing characters without routes and not enough time developing the characters with the routes. And the fandisc half of it detracted too much from the rest of the VN. My conclusion was that they should have just started a new IP with the premise and characters they developed in S instead of making such a muddled mess. But they probably wanted to milk the Majikoi fans for all they're worth. And I'm not sure what "most people" think but the prevailing opinion I've seen around here is that S is a bit worse, although still a fun read. And its average rating on VNDB being lower supports that.
  9. The main problem with this game is how shitty it looks. The basic gunplay simply looks bad. The generic zombie enemies and look bad. And they're trying too hard to be edgy. Really, you can piss on people? Postal 2 did that a decade ago and it stopped being funny after fifteen minutes.
  10. How did we get here again? Oh well, I'm rolling with it because I have a question about Please Rape Me that has entered my mind a while ago. The VNDB description says that a character is able to identify women with a desire to be raped. Okay, that would probably mean in a roleplay sense. My question is, does the protagonist get to know them first and then ask for consent, subsequently entering into a roleplay scenario, or does he rape first simply because he "knows" they secretly want it?
  11. I've only played the first couple chapters, but they kinda skimped on the character introductions a little. I would imagine going in blind would make you barely understand who's who and probably wouldn't really care about anyone. You could just do a quick single playthrough of School Days while avoiding the bad ends, and you'd be up to speed.
  12. I knew there was more to it, but... well, I hope they manage to surprise me.
  13. Well then someone should bother releasing an actual good VN for a change. edit: Oh yeah when I was talking to ryechu earlier today I was actually intending to complain about the lack of a spoiler warning but I forgot to, so instead I'll do it here. The review is spoilery as all hell so it should probably have a warning.
  14. I just think you can cater to fetishes while telling a story at the same time, and that's exactly what they're doing.
  15. Uhh, yeah, the review is an opinion piece. As reviews are by their very nature. No crap?
  16. I'm almost certain non sex scenes cover at least more than 50% of the game. Nahhh. I'll have to see when the full game comes out, but I'd wager well over half of the script is in the h-scenes. Keeping in mind that there are 5 possible h-scenes for each turn and the intervals aren't much longer than an individual h-scene, if at all, and sometimes there are extra h-scenes mixed in as well. That just means the sex is dual purpose. You can't say a game with so many features conducive to masturbation isn't interested in getting the readers off. Stuff like the CG zooming, the ejaculation countdown, and so on. Also I still don't know why you're obsessed with this ero-guro thing, it has nothing to do with it. It's not there, but it's still a dark fetishistic experience, just in a different way. Clock Up and MangaGamer aggressively markets the game as a fetishistic nukige and you better believe that's why most people are getting it.
  17. I just don't see how the presence of guro or the lack thereof is relevant. No, it's not for guro fetishists, but there are plenty of fetishes it does appeal to, in a VERY heavy-handed way. I know there are people who insist this isn't nukige. I just think they're dead wrong and are deluding themselves.

Maybe you realize this, but your post was worded in a way that implied otherwise. "Going onto Greenlight" does not mean "Available for purchase." We still don't know when that will be.
  19. Interesting reaction. I was actually thinking that this game does a good job of inviting people who are usually on the fenceline or even on the other side for this kind of content to open up and be more willing to embrace it. Still, I never meant to say that the plot side of things isn't important. But I think the h-scenes are highly important, are in heavy abundance, and are very obviously meant to be fapped to. They go out of their way to make them as fappable as possible, in my opinion.
  20. There is practically no guro and it's not meant to be shocking in that regard. It is still a nukige, though. I very heavily disagree with people who say the ero content isn't the main point. It is front and center in the VN and heartily invites you at every opportunity to fap to it. It is a parade of h-scenes with a bit of story in between. The story takes itself seriously and is another major component to it, but... yeah, it's a heavily fetishistic nukige. And, to be honest, it doesn't even seem to be that good of a story.
  21. I wasn't looking forward to this very much at first, but I think that changed at some point. I'll read this when it comes out.
  22. Why is Little King's Story not the game featured in the thread title? That game owns real goddamn hard. Way more than that Senran Kagura garbage.
  23. Been playing another older title, Crescendo. It's not bad! It's actually really different than most translated eroge. It features third person narration and it sort of cuts into the story after everyone has already met each other and been together for a year or more. It almost has a voyeuristic feel to it as you're peeking into the lives of these people, instead of the typical setup where they give you a cipher protagonist with first person narration so the reader can feel like they're there with them. There's also almost no slice of life. Every scene has purpose, and they do a good job of introducing these characters and establishing their relationships despite starting in the middle (or really, near the end) of their stories with no fluff or filler for characterization. It doesn't feel rushed at all. That art though... Not gonna lie, it IS pretty bad.
  24. MangaGamer is reading this thread. "What's that, kyrt wants a physical version? Well gee, we better get right on that!" Several hours later... http://www.mangagamer.com/detail.php?goods_type=3&product_code=228
  25. my on opinion on this game aside, but yeah, think people shouldnt ignore the fact japanese eroge and their derivates are indeed primarily developed for the Japanese market, thus ment to appeal to a japanese audience who´s valuing/prefering different stuff culture-wise, as this is something i came to whitness quite often in many reviews, or comments (non neccessarily speaking about fuwa here) I kind of think people SHOULD review like that. People tend to think reviews should be one of two things: Objective buying advice, or highly subjective opinions. I'm personally in camp B, I don't want to read a review from someone who doesn't like a game but is trying to stay "objective" and list off the positive traits like a back-of-the-box summary. However, in the objective case, the reviewer has to keep in mind their audience. If their audience are westerners, then it doesn't make a difference who the game was originally developed for, it only matters how the game will come across to their readers. If you tell your readers that the game is good because of a whole bunch of reasons that only apply to Japanese people (I don't think this actually happens very often), and none of your readers are Japanese, that's not very good buying advice. If instead you're going for the subjective approach, then NOTHING else matters other than your own personal experience with the product. If I were to review a game or VN, I would put myself in a vacuum and ignore every single aspect of the game besides the experience of playing/reading it. Developer intents are gone. Was it an indie game where the developer went through tons of hardships while making it while on a shoestring budget? Don't give a shit, if the art sucks I'm saying the art sucks. Subjective reviews should be highly personal and should be about the game and yourself, rejecting absolutely all other outside factors not relating to your personality, including the factors you're mentioning in your post. So TL;DR: That stuff is ignored for a good reason, simply because it doesn't and shouldn't matter to us. There were two major sources of drama in Asuho's route. One was a completely absurd and unrelatable trauma. And the other was understandable but still kind of annoying.
