I had run into this VN by chance when I was looking through the ones about to come out back in May. I read the trial first, and enjoyed it a lot. Enough to pre-order the VN and collect all the goodies (sans the NSFW stuff of course).
This VN is set in a fictional modern-day town in Japan that happened to escape modernization and has only recently started coming in contact with the normal world. Our protagonist arrives there initially to help

So, the past week I have been reading ChuSinGura 46+1, and surprised myself by blowing through 仮名手本忠臣蔵編 (basically, chapter 1,) in under a week. Between the length of the game, as well as the difficult samurai speech patterns and complicated edo-period political schemes, it certainly is the most challenging VN I have read in Japanese as of yet. Anywanys, as the game is so bloody long, and the chapters can somewhat be considered self contained, I just wanted to write something about my impression

So this year I've taken to writing some independent OELVN pieces, two freebies that have both gone on some sort of hiatus and one paid one that I'm nearing completion of. I picked up the Reminiscence Collectors Edition, despite the fact that I already possessed the original game, primarily so I could see how they altered things. To be blunt, the changes so far - having finished Rin's, Nozomi's, and Aki's routes - are a lot less than is indicated on the site. The typos I vaguely remembered from my first and second playthroughs are no longer present, Rin and Nozomi both got minor (very minor) touch-ups to their paths, and there are a few added scenes in the commo

The last update was three weeks ago, and in that period of time, I’ve had a bunch of things happen to me, both good and bad.

For those who are wondering, I am currently replaying Unionism Quartet before moving on to A3 Days. It has been long enough that I didn't recall most of the details, so I needed a refresher. Ghost is the Shell 2 is not a complete continuation of the previous manga. Masamune Shirow planned it be a standalone work but still feel like a semi-sequel. The original story was pretty much complete and it’s welcoming to see a fresh story. It opens the way to explore some new but equality interesting ideas. Shirow even planned to change one of the title kanji to indicate a slight difference between this and the previous work.
