Visual Novel Translation Status (07/23/2016)
I know that the woman beside Yuuji who eat ramen there wasn't Izumi Curtis from Fullmetal Alchemist (Hence the quotation). In fact her name was Kusakabe Asako, Yuuji's deceased master and actually from the spoiler that I read looks like Asako had shower some though love to Yuuji, just like Izumi to Elric brothers. Okay, enough my opinion about Asako here and let's review this week VNTS. To be honest, Afterglow here (The source VNTS picture) wasn't the big news to me here, but rather it was Yoake leaked patch.
About Yoake patch actually this should be a big news there, considering that Yoake was from August, which as we knew was in some sort of curse that their game wasn't fully translated. Yet this time we had one August game fully translated even though it's still maybe unfinished here. To conclude Reddit situation, if Decay still want to wait for Erengy patch, go ahead but I think while maybe the patch was unpolished, it's still serviceable for full Yoake translation patch imo.
Okay, let's not speaking about sticky situation there and let's try to continue my review here. For Sekai, there's no meaningful progress there to me other than Chrono Clock reaching 26.31% translated and Rakuen was halfway translated. JAST, it's usual business for them ie no update. Oh, and other than Afterglow release, Frontwing also released Corona Blossom demo which from next week release I'll call this Corona Blossom Volume 1. In regard of Sharin, too bad Frontwing cancelled Sharin Kickstarter though. Guess it's not get much attention here, considering it didn't managed to gather half of it (Only around 50,000 out of 140,000 fund gathered).
Fan Translation
There's still no update from Luna Translation here, so in this case I'll add the update in here later. Both of Bishoujo Mangekyou and Tsui Yuri still give their usual update here, good job (Mangekyou was 25.7% edited and 16% edited (Congratulations for re-releasing prologue patch by the way), while Tsui Yuri was 55% translated and 53% edited). From Hanasaki we had Hikari's route at 35% translated. As for Tsukiyori, we had 22% Luna's route translated for the progress, and overall translation progress for Tsukiyori was at 33%. For last update here, once again while I suspect that Akerou will ask Sekai to license Irotoridori later, I'm still give the progress here (By the way for the progress it was 19% translated). Overall for this week, other than slightly controversial Yoake leaked patch it was only usual update here.
Mangagamer
This week we had many update from them as expected. In fact there's so many of them that I'll list it below
Both of Da Capo 3 and Bokuten finally fully edited
Himawari finally entering beta testing
Hadaka Shitsuji 17% translated
Pygmalion 32% edited
Suki Suki 63% translated
Kyonyuu Fantasy released at September 9th
Fata Morgana Fandisc was at a quarter (25%) translated
Evangile W was 55% translated and a quarter edited
Imopara 2 was 48% translated and 30% edited
Kuroinu 82% translated and 21% edited
For overall progress, Suki Suki here was had fast progress here, although the reason here could be just like back when Kyonyuu Fantasy was announced and suddenly it'll be ready for released. Speaking about Kyonyuu Fantasy, if some of you find the Funbag name was quite silly ie ridiculous, blame Arunaru for that because it was his idea for the localization title according to his Twitter. Da Capo 3 and Bokuten fully edited here should be a good news of course, and hopefully it'll be had quick scripting here unlike Himawari. Although for Bokuten it should be quick if we talk about scripting because Overdrive had some connection with Mangagamer here. For Himawari, finally they entering the testing after they had scripting process for so long here, and this is should be good news for anyone who waited for this, especially Decay. Pygmalion, I wonder if my word here started to becoming true in regard of 8% editing progress for each 2 weeks. For the rest, no much comment for now.
That's all for my VNTS Review at this week. See you next week.
Edit - There's an update from Luna translation, but beforehand let me said that they'll decided to do biweekly update from now on. As for the progress we had Majokoi 28% translated and 15% edited, while for Witch Garden there's very slightly progress in translation (217 more lines translated) and 9% TLC. That's all for their update, and let's see in 2 weeks later for their progress.
Edit 2 - Dracu Riot Completion Project released heavily edited patch here according to Fiddle. And he said sorry for in 2 months that he couldn't deliver his promise. Although he said that the translation from now on will move quickly though. Personally what I care here wasn't their decision to change British English to American English, but rather that they apparently still not translating the last half part of Miu's route. But whatever, it's their decision though and if the translation will go quicker, then so be it. Also, maybe they could release the complete patch in Christmas to, you know for celebrating one year of Noble Works patch release.
Visual Novel Translation Status (07/09/2016)
For this week VNTS Review title, I'd already came up with it from Hakuai release announcement back at June iirc, before it got delayed. The title was meant to parodying Marimite shoujo ai anime here, and the Nightingale was because there was an award called Nightingale in Hakuai games. Anyway, welcome to my VNTS Review for this week, and I think for this week I will also trying to elaborate on Decay thought here (By the way, it was me that posting Tyrosyn thought here in regard of Princess X. Glad now that Decay pay attention to it). As for podcast, not watching but congratulations for the first podcast here.
For the release this week, Towako was nukige with big breast (Good for anyone else who had big breast fetish) and it was Black Lilith game. I'd tried play Yukikaze, and the sex scene was quite long. For Umineko, even if Mangagamer release it with same modding capability as Higurashi, it's redundant release if I said. The reason was we already got PS3 Graphic and Voice mod for Umineko since 2013 (First Umineko mod was released at May 28th, 2014, and for Chiru it was released at June 25th, 2013. Yes, there's an explanation in regard of reversed release date), and even if there's some opinion like Witch Hunt translation was quite bad, I think there's also no problem in regard of the translation too for me at least. So, the good release here for me was Hakuai, and for the premise it was quite sweet yuri VN here with nurse school setting. Looks like Dergonu like this very much, just as I expected here.
This time, only fan translation and Sekai Project that give some update here, while Mangagamer was apparently had some staff too busy with AX and couldn't made in time for their usual update (Well, what I knew is that I must wait for another week if I want to see Mangagamer update). For Other segment, other than Hakuai release we also had ChuSinGura Chapter 2 and 3 will be launced at Steam in July end, Corona Blossom Chapter 1 was finally funded with more than 47.000 gathered (I'd already report it last week, only to be swept by rollback). JAST, well there's still no update from them.
Sekai Project
2236 was fully translated, Memory Dogma 73.03% translated, Chrono Clock translation progress touching a quarter here (25.11% here), and Maitetsu was 15.28%. There's nothing special in regard of the progress other than good job to both of Maitetsu and Chrono Clock for giving stable update here. Oh, and SakuSaku was moved to here. Okay, to be very honest here I was slightly disagree with Akerou decision, but I'd also realize that it's his choice, of course. I tried to visit Akerou page, and what I did find was very worth to facepalming that in few days the comments in his article was growing from around 35 to 132 comment. I'd already read some of 35 comments, and majority was quite upset with Akerou decision. So obviously I didn't need to read the comment in order to knew the content, and by the way, Chuee also confused that there's one comment that complain about H-Scene cut while Sekai already announced that there will be 18+ version. But at least Akerou didn't do something like OriginalRen here.
In regard of Akerou group, I suspect the reason that AstralAir need at least in 2017 release was because it'll be announced by Sekai. What I want to said that hopefully to lessen fan's wrath it'll be better if Chuee announced that they working together with Sekai from the very start, since I'd read that if the translator working together with the company, it'll be allow us to had some access to more difficult stuff. And I think the most difficult thing to deal for them would be technical thing. Oh, by the way for now AstraAir will entering QC. As for Irotoridori, I think if this is announced by Sekai my reaction wouldn't be as shocked as when Sekai announced SakuSaku, because even if Sekai announced it right now, it'll be still a long way before all of the translation progress was completed. And therefore I think the announcement will not made fans too salty like SakuSaku (Although in regard of H-Scenes was another matter though). Oh, for Irotoridori translation progress it's at 17%. I think even if I'm heavily suspect that Sekai will announce all projects from Akerou's site, I'll still report AstralAir and Irotoridori progress in Fan Translation for next weeks.
Fan Translation
After AstralAir translation was completed, there's another project that will be completed next week (Hopefully), and it was Koiken Otome. Right now they preparing for the patch, and right now I could only comment that this project was already there since 2013 iirc. And they state that they'll not sell it to Sekai or Mangagamer, so at least there's some comfort for now. For other roundup, Bishoujo Mangekyou was at 8.5% QC-ing, Tsui Yuri was 50% translated and 43% edited, Hanasaki had Hikari's route 29% translated, Majokoi had 23% translated and 13% edited, Witch Garden was 63% translated, 7% TLC, and 4% edited. and finally or Kanobito progress we had 106 scripts left to be translated (By the way, Mitch decided to localize Kanobito as 'My Girlfriend, My Lover, and I'). Overall, I think fan translation update was had some nice usual progress here.
I think that's all for my VNTS Review this week, and see you next week.
PS - For Trionline, no comment as there is no content here other than it'll be released in Japan at 2017 (Obviously it'll be translating by Mangagamer). For Nora, I checked VNDB and find out that Harukaze company was originally from Minato Soft, but the main staff was from WagaHigh. I didn't knew about translation potential, but I guess it'll allow us to had Majikoi game officially released (Maybe, and even if it's true it's already redundant).
Visual Novel Translation Status (06/18/2016)
As for the title because this week VN from VNTS Image header was had same premise as Go Go Nippon, only we going to Kyoto instead of Tokyo, I'd use the title Go Go Nippon and for the expansion we had My First Trip to Kyoto because the VN Setting was in Kyoto.
This week, to be honest it was quite plain if we looking from the progress that Decay made. But from Steam we had many exciting announcement from there. First, we had KARAKARA demo release, which to be honest I'm still not playing it yet (I'll write my impression later). Second we had Meikyuu release announcement next week, which should be enough if you looking forward to Yuuji story (If not enough ie want to see more H-Scenes, well too bad you must wait for a while). For last announcement, we'll had Muv Luv released at July 14th. My question is will they using new opening or not, other than that I think it's quite redundant release imo because we already had this translated some times ago. But if some of you want to read Muv Luv using new translation, go ahead and you may looking forward to July 14th.
For Sekai, the progress here was good in some VN, while we also had questionable progress like Maitetsu (Decreasing? What's happened here). As the roundup, Darekoi was had the biggest jump here (From 79% to 90.01%), while for Love, Guitar, and Nashville it was at 77.7% (Lucky number here). I'd checked Nashville and it was another yuri VN, and speaking about yuri VN, this week we had Highway Blossom released. As for more interesting project, looks like Sekai willing to update Tenshin Rahman and Chrono Clock regularly (This week both of the progess was at 29.99% and 19.19% respectively) so I'll keep my eyes on those two from now on. For last progressedps, we had 2236 at 62.77% translated and WEE Episode 3 at 97.15% translated. I think that's all for Sekai (KARAKARA and Meikyuu was already covered in previous paragraph).
Since I'd already covered Muv Luv, for other segment first update we had Corona Blossom Chapter 1 was funded at 22,087 of 30,000 (Almost three quarter funded) with 2 weeks left. And for Hakuai, too bad that they need delay the release, but if they need that to fix the translation can't be help here I guess (Hopefully it could satisfy Zakamutt who find the initial Hakuai translation was disappointing). For last update, we didn't had Libra update, but Mikandi promised us that they'll give update 2 weeks each (Just like Mangagamer), and by the way they tell us that they often need to beg the translator to move faster. Oh, and they assured us that they were on schedule for the release. Let's see it later.
From Mangagamer, we had surprise Tatarigoroshi release from them. As for next chapter, hopefully Mangagamer didn't take too long for releasing Himatsubushi, which is the shortest chapter in Higurashi. I'm waiting for Tatarigoroshi mod by the way. Forother announcements from them, wait for next week.
Finally, for fan translation, we had usual progess here, although our Arcadeotic this time was managed to give us update for Bishoujo Mangekyou at the beginning of this week (8th script was 81% translated, and overall translation progress was at 97%. Also right now it was 18% edited). Tsui Yuri, this week we didn't had translation progress (But if you really need translation progress, Dergonu said he managed to translate 30 lines iirc) but we had major bump in editing from 8% to 29%. For Majokoi, we had 12% translation progess and apparently they planning to release prologue patch. Speaking about Majokoi translation group (Luna Translation), they add another project here although I didn't do enough research right now other than there's a 15% translated patch for this VN (Oh, the VN was Musumaker). And for Nursery Rhyme, according to the thread it was updated back at January before this update (Right now it was 56% translated). I only knew that this VN was came from same company as Tayutama for now.
Koiken Otome, thanks Decay for give the progress because I just knew it. Anyway, for Koiken Otome right now it was at 92.38% QC-ing, and hopefully they managed to fight the DDoS attack that caused the project lead delay the release (According to the post, supposedly this patch will be released at June 5th, but because there was some troll had grudge against some community, he decided to attacking server that host the community by DDoS, and unfortunately Koiken Otome server was the same server as targeted one). For last update (Astral Air), looks like this time Supreme Tentacle was prove us that what Chuee promised will come true (Translation will picked up in summer). I knew that there's still some QC left, but hopefully it'll take no long time and if possible we had it released this year. As for the progress, it was 3.88% jump from last week (Will we see 4% jump I wonder), bringing Astral Air to 88.83% translated.
For this week, I think that's all for my review and sorry if I miss some. See you next week.
PS - Congratulations on English patch release from big breast nukige 'Kimonen demo Harem Guild', Quof. And if some reader like big breast, go get the patch and play it.
PPS - Add one more progress here. For Hanasaki, right now they had Hikari's route translated at 12% progress.
Visual Novel Translation Status (06/25/2016)
Okay, for all French reader or user here, don't worry. What I mean here is the title for opening song of one VN in image header (Grisaia no Meikyuu) in French (Because Grisaia like to use French, so I decided to use the Frech from opening title for this week review). The opening title was World's End, and I must admit it was quite catchy, although I still thinking Kajitsu was enough. But if you want to play Meikyuu, go ahead and beware of cliffhanger at the end.
Anyway, here's my VNTS Review for this week and sorry for a bit late here. As for this week, we had many progress from fan translation alone. While for Sekai and Mangagamer, it was still their usual. However, this week we had surprise from other segment. So I think I'll start from Mangagamer section first, then Fan Translation, Sekai, and finally Other. Oh, beforehand as the opening news for anyone who cares, we had Sonicomi entering Golden Master according to JAST Twitter here (I should report it at last week, but I forgot).
Mangagamer
Nothing too excited if we looking from their progress, although full translation of Da Capo 3 was of course welcome news here (At least Kouryuu managed to fulfill his promise by fully translating it before AX 2016, or to be exact 11 or so days before it). But even after translating finished there's still editing (Which right now it was at 98%), scripting, and beta testing. Hopefully they'll managed to release Da Capo 3 this year. For more info, this VN was had some history once again with Fuwanovel. I'll try to elaborate more later.
For other progress, we had Pygmalion 16% edited, Fata Morgana fandisc 18% translated, Imopara 2 48% translated and a quarter edited, and Kuroinu 80% translated and 21% edited. Not much comment needed here, other than if Pygmalion need 2 weeks for 8% editing progress, will it fully edited at December first week I wonder (And obviously it'll be released in 2017 duh). I think that's all for Mangagamer section this week. Oh, and by the way none of the project was in scripting if you still curious how about Mangagamer will give us news in regard of their in scripting project.
Fan Translation
We had so many progress from here. Let me try to round up all of them here.
Hanasaki had Hikari's route 16% translated. By the way admin Tay, you mistaken Inori for Hikari. The right one once again it was Hikari's route that translated at 16%.
Majokoi was at 17.08% translated and 10.68% edited. By the way, the team was in need of 2 beta testers. If you interested, just look at this blog post here. Oh, and they almost had prologue patch ready for release.
Bishoujo Mangekyou was fully translated and 20.3% edited. Arcadeotic said the release date could be in a few months (Hopefully this year).
Tsui Yuri was 40% translated and 30% edited.
Kanobito was had 110 scripts left to translated according to @mitchhamilton. Good luck to endure more sex scene Mitch, because from VNDB and some review I knew that this game had high sex count.
Majikoi A-1 fandisc was released. Good for hardcore Majikoi fan I guess. Although I didn't care too much about this, I'm still thanking the team for completing original Majikoi translation project though.
Tsuki no Yorisou project was finally added to the VNTS. Congratulations, and since if we look at the overall translation progress it was quite hard to tell if this project was advancing or not, I'll just report the progress from the route. And for this week we had prologue and common route fully translated, and Luna route was at 15% translated.
Astral Air was touching 90% progress for both translation and editing (Actually each week before the percentage was the progress for both), or to be exact the progress itself was at 92.50% (Too bad it wasn't 4% progress though (Only 3.67% progress), but I'm still grateful okay). Okay, since Tay already said congratulation to Chuee at his Twitter, let me said congratulations for very big progress to the translator himself, @SupremeTentacle.
Okay, I think that's all for roundup this week at Fan translation section. For last word, I think this section was had most exciting if we look at the progress, although for the release it was quite not so exciting to me though (Only Majikoi A -1 fandisc, although once again if you hardcore Majikoi fan go ahead and play it).
Sekai Project
Actually also their usual once again if we look at their progress. Okay for the opening news, congratulations for very big success kickstarter for Princess Knight (Around 36,000 fund gathered, which was 3 times original goal (12,000)). And this week we had 2 projects completed in term of translation progress (Darekoi and WEE Episode 3), while we also had one almost completed translation project here (Nashville was translated at 98.04%). For more progress, we had Maitetsu was at 13.09% translated and Chrono Clock was at 20.95% translated. For My Little Kitties, well I think it's like Nekopara, only we had one catgirl and also we had Sakura Ayane and Uchida Maaya working as seiyuu there somehow in Korean VN (By the way, I remember that their role at Gochiusa was Cocoa and Sharo respectively). As for the biggest release from Sekai, it was obviously Meikyuu and I think I'd commented enough both on forum and the first paragraph.
Other
Okay, actually other than Corona Blossom Chapter 1 which almost funded at this point (Only 489 left to be funded) there's no update from this section. But this section was had surprised us. The surprise was ChuSingura 46+1 Chapter 1 was released and free to play at the Steam. It means that the Kickstarter was real, if it's a bit unrefined. Actually from some review that I'd read, ChuSingura was one of very good VN, and actually this release could maybe introduce the good VN to the people outside Japan. Although if I may said, this release had the problem. Not in term of translation or the censorship (The censorship reason was actually understandable because unlike MoeNovel case, this time there's a reason that they had experience to released it on PSP before), but more in engine which one user said it was more likely caused by the engine wasn't fitting for the VN itself and more fitting to the mobage. Hopefully if JAPAN or NextNinja still willing to release next ChuSingura chapters, they will fix the engine to make the game more comfortable to play. Also hopefully the JAPAN will to fix the communication with the fan. Oh, and for last word, if I may praise JAPAN here, it would be their decision to release ChuSingura Chapter 1 because from there we could see of how serious they were actually by sort of showing translation example.
I think that's all for this week, and sorry if I miss some progress. See you next week.
PS - Forgot one more progress, and it's Bokuten. For Bokuten, right now it was 95% edited.
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/02/2016)
Frankly with 4 image at header of VNTS I was quite confused with the title (But I appreciate your effort, admin Tay), so since 2 of 4 header was came from quite popular VN, I decided to use the title based on those 2 VN. Twilight is actually quite infamous with the vampire fan, but I guess it's kinda fitting for the man behind the VN itself until a little while ago. And purgatory was obviously reference to Tokyo Babel duh.
Welcome to my 2nd post for my commentary about VN Translation Update here. First we surely had some of the update here. And for my commentary I think based on Tay update I'll divided between Mangagamer and fan translation segment. Based on VNTS, from JAST and Sekai there's no worthwhile progress, but I think I'll open the commentary segment for Sekai first in order to state my opinion about Root Double
Sekai Project
As only Decay was the one who commented on it, guess it makes me the 2nd people here? Anyway, I'd already suspected that Sekai might delayed the release of Root Double in March considering that they never updated the Kickstarter past March 10th until near March end. From the messages that Funyarinpa got from NeoGAF forum and DavidB statement, I guess it's majorly the delay part was come from Regista or Yeti instead of Sekai which come as of no surprise since Sekai promised us to release XTend version on PC and I suspect that maybe Regista also decided to do that for their own language just recently (Or still in planning), and I speculate that since according to those 2 statements that Regista was did not contact Sekai Project in regard of Root Double (If my instinct was right of course, and virginsmasher said it happened with Himawari). But I think Sekai should announce this fact to the fans instead of fans try to deduce from the publisher word. And as for Sekai Project, other than Root Double delay not much needed to be commented.
Mangagamer
Normally until surprised announcement it should be the best announcement and should be save for the last. But because the surprised announcement, I'll decided to make a commentary before fan translation segment. Okay, this time Mangagamer was bring us many update. I think as for round up not much interesting happened there. Fatamorgana, Kuroinu, and MYTH was not on my list of looking forward I think but congratulations for MYTH for reaching 100% translation first though (Fatamorgana will be release on May 13th and Kuroinu reaching 40% though just for recap here). Imopara 2, well copy paste pink-haired heroine issue aside the progress was surprisingly fast (Or Mangagamer already translated this before announcement was also possible) at 36.59% and editing at 10% in this moment. Evangile W as also progressed quite well with the progress was at 32.58% (And it mean the time for Evangile fan to see their heroine more was slowly approaching).
As for the more interesting update, Da Capo 3 at this moment was at 85% (To admin @Tay, you forgot this little update), Pygmalion was at 63.31%, and Bokuten was edited at 70%. Da Capo 3 was had quite an interesting history with this community, notably involving MT and Aaeru. I'll try to write more if Mangagamer managed to release it, and looks like Decay prediction about Da Capo 3 translation will be finished around July might be true. As for Pygmalion, no more comment at this moment other than Clephas didn't like it much (Although the girl MC remind me of Aoishiro premise though). Bokuten, the interesting thing was according to VNDB 2 seiyuu for Root Double MC was casted as male side characters here. Another interesting thing was it will follow Overdrive usual theme (Music, and the band was comprised of all angels), and sex scene was apparently quite important compared to previous Overdrive games. I think if I'll type more here it'll be too much.
Finally for the big news from Mangagamer. As we knew, Tokyo Babel was finally released. From the response at Steam it seems quite accepted well. And VNDB scoring of Tokyo Babel rise a bit from 7.01 to 7.03. Our Clephas and Conjuror also like this game. For the size, it was quite big at 8.57 GB, but I still accepted it compared to School Days (9.6 GB) and Shiny Days (16 GB) size (And apparently 'Days' games had some kind of bug that was caused by poor programming at Overflow). Go play it if you didn't play the demo yet, and it's all age by the way (Although I didn't mean for 4 - 12 years old children though, especially girl one. The reason I stated that because there was some PreCure seiyuu involving in Tokyo Babel, and PreCure targeting girls from age 4 - 12 years old. Anyway, the content was definitely not for children). As for Decay commentary, for the picture it was somehow quite funny that no one commented on that until now, and for maid cafe, well let's just said that propeller also need their fan service dose a little bit.
Fan Translation
There's surely many interesting progress coming from here. First I'll comment on Koiken Otome progress as they finally had their TLC at 100% (By the way, it's 2nd update you didn't catch it admin Tay) and QC at 86.39%. I didn't know how much we must waiting for this, but maybe hopefully this year it'll be finished. Oh, just expect it as moege/charage with chuunige element instead of pure chuunige like Tokyo Babel if you didn't want to be disappointed since I'd read some review about this game and the response was less than favorable. Astral Air was stable (I mean always updated each week) as usual, but the progress was slowing down at this week (From 0.4% to 0.2%) and looks like they decided to finish Yuuki route translation first before move to Corona route. Harakano, well good for pregnancy fetish I supposed (I was only comment on this because it was one of 4 image header lol). Congratulations on Magical Eyes release though (Well Fruitbat was comprised of fan translator, so it's counted here I supposed), although the graphic was quite less good compared to other VN, but I appreciate their effort to make animated OP, had the singer sing the OP, and had the seiyuu for voicing the game (Keep in mind that the company behind Magical Eyes was not professional, but amateur group so normally the expected production value should be less imo. Sorry for to be blunt here).
For the project that need some help, first I will need to commented on Aokana. For Ren's group, good luck for finding N2 and N3 translator first, and I'll be waiting until December for the completion here (Since you promised us to release the patch at October for the earliest, but I'll be lenient here so I said until December (Although earlier was of course very good)). About the second group, for 5 language since mod zenophilius suggested something interesting, how about if I translated it in English, Arabic, Latin, Indonesia, and Chinese language by using Google Translate lol and release it unedited. Just give me script, had programmer created the patch with the translation, and done. For serious comment, it was quite hard to translate in 5 languages at the first place and more hard if you want to had it translated properly. So I think the 2nd group was quite attention seeker here. And for To Hearts 2, even though in 'certain site' it was considered as complete I think it's quite nice that the translator still spent some effort to refine it. Good luck ittaku, and thanks for your 7 years (Soon to be 8 years) of works.
Finally, this is surprising indeed. After I rant on this board back at 21 and half hours ago about this, and suddenly 9 and half hours ago (I was not online back there) it was really happened, the promise from back at 2013 was suddenly happened. I mean with some certain translator promised to release any completed work, partial or not. Okay, I was talk about Dracu Riot and Insem here. Honestly, it was definitely pleasant surprised here, but too bad for Miu's route it's still half translated, so it was still incomplete. I was planned to rant about Dracu Riot here if the announcement didn't happened. Anyway, with this guess Yuzu-soft cursed was almost broken here and hopefully some user here was willing to translate remaining 10% of the game or last half of Miu's route, and finally we had 2 Yuzu-soft translation project break the curse (I mean with August, Yuzu-soft games was cursed to had their translation to be never finished. The first game that break Yuzu-soft curse was Noble Noodle Works translation, which was released back at Christmas 2015). As for my state, I was thinking if I should open the discussion if not, but maybe I should if only to talk about 3 and half finished route (The bonus route script was around 4300 lines, which was quite big compared to Noble Works bonus route script which was only around 1100 lines). See you later at Dracu Riot discussion thread later.
I think that's all I could write for now, and thanks for reading my though here which was quite long here.
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/16/2016)
Another 4 release, and for this time I used combination between Lucid9 and Campus Note to made it into 'The Lucid Note'. Coincidentally it was also name of failed kickstarted project here, so guess I help to revive the project here. Well, let's get back to usual business here which of course my commentary for VNTS for this week. And since Decay mentioned that Tay still helping even if he studying, I'd also should thank him as well here.
From 4 release at this week I think only Lucid 9 that interest me. Asagi? Well, let's just said I'd far more interested with smaller heroine chest or in this case Yukikaze, which also had the translation project established (Although will I play Yukikaze or not in future is another story. And by the way Asagi and Yukikaze was nukige). Dandy Shot, I think my answer to otome was not interested but I think the story was involving around night life in the bar. Campus Note, the story was involving life in campus and apparently the release date for Japan and English version was the same, or in other word just like Nekopara Vol. 1 back in the end of 2014. As for Lucid9, it was just common route, but I think for the effort it'd already win No One But You and most importantly it's free. I think my comment was hopefully Lucid9 staff would be able to develop good heroine route.
As for my opening comment, compared to the last week, this week we had many update. Let's try to sort it out here. And for JAST, there's no announcement other than if some of you interested to got free Sonico there's a contest and it's limited to 16 winner.
Sekai Project
This time we had KARAKARA at 95.98%, Maitetsu at 6.96%, World End Economica (WEE) Episode 3 at 51.23%, and Darekoi at 37.71%. For Darekoi, I didn't know so no much comment other than the story will take place in some isolated village or something like that. KARAKARA, well that's quite some quick progress, around 19% or so in one week although from the progress it's easy to guess that it'll be probably short VN (Actually, there is another method to guess it, but it's quite complicated to write). Maitetsu was slowed down with the progress only at 0.57%. As for WEE Episode 3, congratulations for reaching more than half for the progress and this mean it's about time that the English speaker will see all of WEE episode translated in English.
Ironically, the biggest news from Sekai was not contained in the update itself, but from DavidB Twitter itself. What he tweeted is that the review copy from Root Double was started to emailed out, although I just knew it recently while the tweet was from April 12th. For information I just learned that review copy mean something like the copy of the game to be reviewed. As for Root Double information, I didn't need to type much in here, isn't it. For Decay, since you'll review it guess I'll looking forward to your review of Root Double later.
Oh, almost forgot about one progress. For Grisaia, according to this post here Meikyuu was facing challenge in regard of porting from PSV to PC and Rakuen was about 20% translated. Good if you paid attention and waiting patiently for Grisaia translation. As for me, I think I'd satisfied with just Kajitsu only.
Mangagamer
Looks like Mangagamer will had big update every 2 weeks. So, let's start the recap here according to Mangagamer tweet.
Kuroinu was 43% at this time
Imopara was at 41.5% transalted and 14.4% edited (Quite fast I see)
Evangile W was translated at 38% and edited at 17.3%
Da Capo 3 87.8% translated and 80.8% edited
Supipara was in scripting
Bokuten was translated at 87%
Pygmalion was 73% translated
I think I could not comment much other than good progress. Da Capo 3 might finished in July if the translation keep up like this. As for Pygmalion, looks like we'll got it finished quite fast too and Bokuten also had good progress there. While Supipara was had very good scenery porn, I think I'll better wait until minori managed to made all planned episode, which is to said would take very very very long time. I think the most interesting news from Mangagamer to me was not Gahktun going to Steam, but Mangagamer announced Himawari progress in Twitter. Although Himawari was already in scripting for a while, it kinda made me wonder why just now Mangagamer announced it on Twitter. Perhaps the script was already in Mangagamer hand and right now they started to did the scripting by themselves (Or maybe it's just my wishful thinking), but the situation was kinda interesting. Anyway, let's see what Mangagamer will offer in next 2 weeks.
Fan Translation
First of all, congratulations to Arcadeotic for the release of partial patch of Bishoujo Mangekyou. As for Dergonu project, right now it was at 8.9% (I'll inform Decay about it later) and our Nosebleed also involved as TLC there. Speaking about Nosebleed project, I think is some of you want to continue the translation project of Immoral Little, just ask him for the script. As for my opinion, I understand about his burnout since sex scene usually only contain like Ahh... or Oohh..., so it's not that interesting to be translated. And speaking about burnout from translating sex scene, after translating Haruka looks like Arunaru suffering trauma from blowjob scene (According to him blowjob was the most scene back at Haruka). Anyway, since Nosebleed drop Immoral Little, good luck in your effort for translating Miu's route (He said it was more fun than translating Immoral Little).
Astral Air as usual was stable, and this time it move at 0.96% which compared to last week was bigger jump, although slightly. Looks like they'll translate Corona route first before translating Yuuki. As for the note about Daitoshokan, I think I had slightly doubt about that but if it's true, then finally August curse will be break after Yuzusoft. For Libra, at this time it was 80% translation for common route, or in their word main route. And finally for the most recent news, the translator for ToHeart 2 Ittaku announced that he'll also translate Izumi's route at Clover Days. Here's his post for the proof, and let's see it later.
I think that's all I could write for this VNTS commentary.
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/23/2016)
Well, sorry for cliche title this week, but it's quite confusing to made the title from 4 release this week and I'd find it hard to find fitting title if I tried to combine 2 releases. So, I'd decided to take one title (In this case Narcissu), using hanakatoba (Flower language) from iris (It was Narcissu title), and I'd decided to use 'A Little Good News' as review title this week. Oh, hanakatoba from iris mean good news which figured kinda fitting for this week release, and for the little you should knew why. Oh, about hate mail to Tay, my opinion that you should ignore them since I think it was your right to cover otome game even though I didn't wait for otome game release though. For ChuSingura, I think at this time it's sound fishy so it was not included there, although congratulations for gathering 5,000 at this time I guess.
Anyway, here's another week for my VNTS commentary. As for the release, the most good news to me was definitely not Vega, the otome games, or the title inspiration itself. In fact, actually it was the third picture in VNTS Header Image. Although you may already knew, I'll give commentary below. Anyway, other than the good news itself and some from fan translation one, there's not much interesting news though, although Mangagamer will release the first translated Drama CD though by using the subbed video as the mean to understand the Drama CD. But for more interesting news from Mangagamer we must wait for another week.
Sekai Project
Okay, first Sekai managed to release Narcissu side episode, which the tile was 'A Little Iris'. As for translation progress, now KARAKARA was fully translated, Maitetsu was at 10.14%, and WEE was at 58.31%. I think with this kind of progress KARAKARA would be only short title, judging from the budget and the speed of translating, although once again don't underestimate the short VN. As for WEE, it's good for WEE fans because I'd heard that the 2nd game was ended in cliffhanger. Other than that, I think not much comment needed from Sekai segment.
One last note, I just want to get Root Double status now. Although with our Decay already got his review copy, it should be not that long I guess.
Fan Translation
While the good news wasn't came from this section, this section actually had the most interesting progress as of this week. First, as usual Astral Air progress was stable and congratulations for reaching three quarter of the translation progress (Or to be exact the progress was at 75.20%). As for Ren's Aokana project, well let's see what kind of news that he'll bring this Monday, although I'm not surprised that the 2nd translation group was not be able to deliver translation patch itself, and the leader had to blame us to boot for his failure (Well, normally the people should be either not promising something ridiculous, or just work on it even if some people not supporting you).
Bishoujo Mangekyou, let's said that the progress at this time was 59.75% (Actually 4 of 8 scripts fully translated and the 5th script was at 78% translation). For ToHeart 2, at this time it was 70% editied according to ittaku, and he was planning to release another beta patch at this week. For @Dergonu project, looks like you got one very good candidate for your TLC. Just ask him if you had doubt about his capability ie see his Youtube channel. Oh, another new project was established today, and it was Nijima Yuu project after he was out from Saga Planet. Check the project page here, and good luck @Hasa. Hopefully if this successful this will be the first Nijima Yuu work translated, because back there NatsuNagi translation was scam and troll project (Probably they made wordpress page after they drink 5,000 gallons of beer. Sorry, but I waited for this and only to find that it was false hope), and HatsuSaku was stalled (Probably because of real life thing) while the last progress recorded was at 19% iirc.
JAST USA
This time I'll give JAST USA a section, because this week actually the good news itself came from this. Okay, as for the round up progress, Flower was at 25% reediting from the bad translation, Schatten was 94% translated, Sonicomi was debugging, and Sweet Home was at 100% translated. For my comment about this, Sweet Home was 2007 production nukige, Schatten was another VN that the heroine had similarity as Saber from Fate franchise after Princess Waltz, and Flower was like first attempt that Innocent Gray made to step into all age, less gory and girls love VN. Honestly, other than Flower (Which actually still first part, so not excited so much) there's not much that I look forward from JAST translation progress.
Finally, this is actually the good news. And as we knew Seinarukana was finally released this week. If we knew the history about VN Translation, Seinarukana here was definitely full of it. It was actually stated to be released back at 2012 in VNDB, only to be cancelled. It also had some drama, like 2 translators was gone missing and TL Wiki page for Seinarukana was abandoned back in 2013. Okay, maybe I'll tell the full story in Seinarukana thread later. But either way for the player who already got this, happy playing.
That's all for my VNTS Review this week. Sorry if I miss some of the update here.
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/30/2016)
Kinda want to do seiyuu joke for this week, so since the featured image header (One of 4 image actually) was Moribe Jun in Root Double, who also had same seiyuu as Kawakami Kazuko back in Majikoi, so I decided for the title because Jun was firefighter and Kazuko nickname was Wanko, I'd made 'Wanko as Firefighter' for the review title. Anyway, this is definitely not a fanfiction of how Wanko will became firefighter in Kawakami city, but usual VNTS review for this week.
For the release, Aselia was already censored even back when fan translated, so I think it's already played and discussed to the death or in other word obsolete. Ozmafia, well even otome was once again not my interest but congratulations for Mangagamer first otome release. The story of Ozmafia was something like amnesiac cute MC (I admit that I look forward to otome game MC face though. Oh, her name was Fuuka) was trapped in the place when there is many mafia family fighting each other to the death, and Fuuka must had to seek refuge with one mafia family that hopefully she could trust. Corpse Party, well it had voice obviously but too bad the seiyuu is not the famous one though just like in PSP version, just indie seiyuu. But I think if some of you like horror and didn't had PSP (Or you had hard time to use PSP Emulator), go ahead and play it. For the last relese, I'll comment below (In case some of you didn't get it from the first paragraph, it was obviously Root Double).
As expected, Mangagamer really did update for each 2 weeks. And I think for this week we had another good week after Seinarukana sudden release last week. Let's start my wrap up from Fan Translation here.
Fan Translation
Well, this time AstralAir didn't had progress this week as usual (Or maybe this week VNTS came too fast, and if Chuee update it I'll add it here). For Bishoujo Mangekyou, this week we had 5 out of 8 script translated, and Arcadeotic said it was around 70%. Although I didn't follow it, Angel Beats at this week was at 41.93% although I'm still waiting for Key to release full version though. For Dergonu's project (I'll reference this as Tsui Yuri for next review), congratulations for finally getting good TLC and for the progress it was at 12%. I think as for this week Fan Translation section was kinda plain, although I'm waiting for Tuesday since akerou supposed to give major update in regard of his progress (Although I didn't know if it would be good or bad though, but hopefully good obviously). Oh, and I'd almost forget that this week Ittaku really released another beta patch for ToHeart2, and he decided to had FredtheBarber also editing twin's route (At this time, ToHeart 2 was edited 75%).
Mangagamer
Once again, looks like my prediction that Mangagamer will had update every 2 weeks was proved right. So, for Mangagamer progress recap, here's the list below.
Kuroinu was at 55% translated
MYTH was 100% translated and in scripting
Imopara 2 was 44% translated
Evangile W was half translated
Pygmalion was 86.73% translated
DaCapo 3 was 90% translated and 83.4% edited
Bokuten was 92% translated and 73.75% translated
Tatarigoroshi now being ported
Well, the progress for 3 most interesting VN (Pygmalion, DaCapo3, and Bokuten) was very good if I must said to Mangagamer. As for Tatarigoroshi (Oh, by the way Tatariogoroshi was one part of Higurashi in case some of the reader here confused what Tatarigoroshi mean), looks like they'll release it in close date and with that it'll be another part of Higurashi that will had voice patch in the future. And Tatarigoroshi is the part when Higurashi story start to form itself, or so I'd read somewhere. Other than that, there's not much to comment here.
Sekai Project
For Tenshin Rahman and Chrono Clock, well maybe if the progress was updated regularly I'll keep eye to both of it. Maitetsu was at 12.11% translated for this week and WEE episode 3 was at 64.24% translated for this week. It'll be definitely good news for WEE fans, although Maitetsu progress was slowed down again this week after we had quite nice progress from last weeks. Other than that, I think not much from Sekai translation progress.
The most exciting news this week was definitely Root Double release. I'm actually kind of want to see it translated from the moment I read GundamAce posts in Animesuki and Gamefaqs back at 2012, and he said that it was equal to Ever17 according to him (And he swear that he'll definitely translated it). So, from the moment I'd see him founded Lemnisca Translation I'd remember that I'm always following his I/O, Secret Games and 12Riven translation because he said that he'll finally translated Root Double after he finished with all of those 3 games. Although the way of got Root Double here was a bit different and had slightly more controversial, it was definitely worth of waiting. As of now I'll still waiting for Root Double to be available on my laptop, and then I'll write my first impression.
For Decay's review, actually I think it's okay though since review should be taken as personal feeling of the work instead of the whole community opinion. And of course you should once again form your opinion based on the game by yourself alone, not by the review itself. For example, according to VNDB I/O was one of GundamAce best VN while Decay only give score 7.7, so I think once again review was like something personal opinion, although I also see the point that it may affect some of the people who want to play it though if they only read the score and not the substance. Okay to be honest I said this because I'd had more face-palm reading the reaction from Decay's review at Gamefaqs forum rather than the review itself. And one last thing I would said is that at least Decay didn't review it badly because it didn't had gameplay section just like some certain Tokyo Babel review.
I think that's all I could write for this VNTS review for this week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (06/11/2016)
Since Tay this time using the sketch from Fault's artist in regard of Fata Morgana Steam release, so this week because at the picture we had characters from both Fata Morgana (Maid and White Haired Girl) and Fault (Selphine and Ritona), I made the title 'Fata Morgana and Fault Crossover Fan Fiction'. Oh, and speaking about Fata Morgana it was quite interesting, although the second door was quite bloody imo (Also if you looking for moe girl in Fata Morgana, I suggest you better look at Pauline because I think her design was the most close resemble from Japanese anime girl usual design imo). Anyway, here's my VNTS Review for this week, and I think for this week (And maybe in next weeks depending of my interest) I'll open new segment with the title 'Other' which covered all of the translation group beside usual 4 (Sekai, Mangagamer, JAST, and Fan Translation), or in VNTS word it would be Miscellaneous Projects. As for my opinion, the most interesting update was from Other and Fan Translation, while Mangagamer was had usual 2 weeks update and Sekai was also in their usual state (They add Tenshin Rahman and Chrono Clock now, so I should keep eye on those 2 now).
Sekai Project
Usual update from them, although most of them was slowed down though if we look at the VNTS page (The progress for the updates was not even touching 5%), and we also had some VN which had hiatus (Although it wasn't interesting one anyway) so for this week Sekai Project segment wasn't too interesting from the update (Oh, as for Chrono Clock and Tenshin Rahman translation progress, it was at 17.22% and 25.38% respectively).
Instead of looking at less lively update from Sekai, I think I'll talk about the survey from Sekai since doddler post the Sekai's survey form picture. For the first picture here, well too bad I didn't had any of the console so if Sekai provide number 6 for none, I'll fill all of the choice with 6 ie I will not play VN on any of those console. For the 2nd picture here, I think for now I would fill 1 for Maitetsu, 2 for KARAKARA, 3 for Just Desert, and the rest with 12. It means that for now only Maitetsu and KARAKARA interest me right now, while Just Desert was because the VN once again from Indonesia. Although I knew that Meikyuu and Tokeijikake was good stuff, the reason I wasn't looking forward to it because I knew since back when Kajitsu was in translating process that Meikyuu was ended in cliffhanger, while I'd also read that Tokeijikake was also ended in unresolved mystery. Oh, and for Hoshimemo I think even if the translation was quite bad for some people (Personally I didn't care), it was already discussed and reviewed since back at 2012 so not looking forward to it. That's all for Sekai segment this week.
Mangagamer
Well, Da Capo 3 translation progress wasn't at 100% (To be exact, the translation progress was at 97% and editing progress was at 95%), but at least it's still had the progress, and hopefully the translator will fulfill his promise to finish it in less than 3 weeks (In more than 3 week we'll had AX, and the translator promise that he'll finish the translation before AX). As for other progress, actually not to much but for roundup here Kuroinu was at 78% translated, Pygmalion was fully translated and 8% edited, and for Bokuten it was also already fully translated and for editing process it was at 89%. And also Mangagamer tease us here in regard of in scripting project. I wonder if one of the project would be Himawari. Well, let's see it later.
Oh, and for last update I forgot about it before, but the translation progress for Fata Morgana fandisc was at 12%. Speaking about Fata Morgana, I'd also quite interested with the Drama CD (Speaking about Drama CD, Mangagamer already had Yurirei 3rd Drama CD ready for pre-order there) just like the translator in the interview here, because it was contained some interesting seiyuu. For the special service, since Tay promote Fata Morgana in image header, how about I also give seiyuu list and their MAL page too. Anyway, here's the cast for Fata Morgana Drama CD (I hope if Novectale release voiced version of Fata Morgana, they will use seiyuu from Drama CD).
Michel: Takahiro Sakurai
The Maid: Asami Seto
The Girl with White Hair: Mamiko Noto
Mell Rhodes: Soichiro Hoshi
Nellie Rhodes: Kana Asumi
The Man: Kenichi Suzumura
Pauline: Aki Toyosaki
Javi: Yuki Kaji
Maria Campanella: Yui Horie
Jacopo Bearzatti: Junichi Suwabe
And for last voiced character, since it was spoiler I'll just tell that Ami Koshimizu will voiced the spoiler character. Well, if some of you didn't interested in Fata Morgana before, maybe you could consider it from Drama CD seiyuu, and it was once again quite interesting cast. That's all for Mangagamer section here.
Other
The reason I opened this section because we had some interesting update here, and one of them was surprise. Okay, as for this section we already knew that Moonstone will release their moege 'Love Sweets' for English speaker, but we obviously still didn't know when the release date is (Although Moonstone promise us it will be this year). As for Corona Blossom IGG, looks like it'll be only for Chapter 1 while Frontwing want to release Chapter 2 and 3 separately. We still didn't knew though if the VN was could only fully enjoyed by playing all of 3 chapters or not, but I think it was quite not-so-good tactic because it was basically tell the backer that they willing to make more money by making separated release while Frontwing probably could make it in one volume only. Oh well, it's Frontwing strategy though and for Corona Blossom Chapter 1 campaign, right now it was managed to gather 17,052 from the target of 30,000 (56.84% funded). As for Libra, this time it was managed to surprise me by having delivered the progress at Mari's route translation (50% translated right now), but waiting 25 days for 25% progress (Coincidentally the number was same) was definitely tell us the progress was quite slow imo. Well, since Mikandi in the translation page promise us that there will be update for each week, I will keep my eye on it.
Finally, for surprise announcement, in 5 days we'll had another new translated VN. As for the premise, it was MC and her little sister will be going to becoming nurse and so they started their study. From the review, I learned that this game was probably had 4 routes for all of heroine. Oh, and just in case you didn't get it MC here was female, so we'll get the yuri (But since it was on Steam and the producer was Kogado, there's no sex scene here). And for the title, once again instead of calling 'Nurse Love Addiction' I'll called this VN Hakuai. For future player of Hakuai, here's the advice from me. Expect some interesting CG in the middle of story based on spoiler filled review that I read (Once again I wonder what kind of reaction Hakuai player will had here). And since both Zakamutt and Decay was had some complain in regard of translation and UI respectively, I think for now I didn't had any problem with that, although to response Decay it would be nice though if we could play the demo to see if we could adjust the UI to transparent like Japanese demo. Oh well, and that's all for new section here.
Fan Translation
For this week, we had Yukikaze full patch released. While I said I'm far more interested with Yukikaze than Asagi, I think for the woman's breast other than Yukikaze the size was very inappropriate (I knew it was for anyone elso who had vey big breast fetish, but still). Therefore, when I saw Yukikaze, I think I like her design because her breast wasn't too big or in other word flat (Well, if nukige VN offer too many big breast girl, I think seeing flat one was quite refreshing). And speaking about big breast nukige, we had another update in regard of big breast nukige translation project. Once again, here's the page and according to this post, he'll release this patch in this June (For the progress, it was already finished translating and right now it was in editing). Anyway, for any reader here who had fetish for big breast, looking forward to the patch release.
For non nukige project, looks like both Tay and Decay forgot to add this (I knew it was probably in regard of Mangagamer partnership with Navel), so I think I'll keep an eye on this project. Anyway, the project was already here for a while since August, and for the progress it was 30% translated (By the way, the premise was quite interesting with MC cosplay as the girl in order to enter girl's school). Looks quite good if we look from VNDB score (8 for average at VNDB right now).
Anyway, for this week fan translation update, in regard of ToHeart 2 we had ittaku release another beta patch here, and FredtheBarber finished editing twin's route (And bring the editing progress to 85%, also they started to editing Manaka and Sasara route). Also they finished proofreading Konomi route and started on Tamaki route. For Bishoujo Mangekyou, this week we had the 8th script was at 37.7% (Or around 90% to overall script) translated and 9.9% edited. For Tsui Yuri, we had 36% script translated and 8% edited. As for release date for full patch, the translators of those 3 VN (Ittaku, Arcadeotic, and Dergonu) promised that they aim for 2016 release. Good luck for those three. For Saku Saku, there's no progress other than Akerou assure us that the QC still ongoing, while for Irotoridori the progress was at 13% translated (Also Akerou promised us that by August he already finished translating Irotoridori common route. Let's see it later). Majoki right now was at 11% translated and 5% edited (Nice progress).
Finally for Astral Air, this week even crazy was understatement for their progress. In case you wondering, this week the translating progress from last week was at 3.59% (I though 1.65% was already crazy enough), bringing the overall translation progress to 84.95%. And for more news, Corona route was fully translated and they will translated Yuuki route next. Well, looks like Chuee promise in regard of translation progress at summer will picked up was true.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (05/28/2016)
Sorry for late blog post here. For the title, this week I choose ultimate title (You knew what I mean if you play Dangan Ronpa) and since the image header was from Homeless School Girl VN, so I'd use Homeless Girl (I'm not using school since the synopsis indicate that the girl couldn't attend school) from the VN title. Okay, about the VN itself, I'd read the VNDB discussion and let's just said that the girl was suffered many rape and humiliation, especially from her step father. Oh, and by the way thanks for translating Homeless School Girl, Deep Blue even though maybe the VN wasn't too much cheery for me and too heavy (Also quite dark from VNDB discussion).
Welcome to my VNTS Review for this week here. For catch up from last week, I'm sorry to said about Angel Beats (AB) translation team who must stop their work for translating it because Visual Art decided to translated AB by themselves. Oh, and by the way we also had news about Ixrec working to translating Rewrite + VN. As for my comment, maybe Rewrite was kind of divisive, but since we'd promised that there will be improvement about the scenario I wonder what kind of reaction we'll see later. AB once again not interested so much right now because it was only volume one, while KEY obviously will add more AB volume in the future. Let's see it later.
For fan translation project, we had another one established here. As for the progress, right now it was quite hard to said but the translator promised us that the moment he update the progress, it'll be at least around 75%. For the VN itself, it was some sort of nukige with fantasy world setiing and loser MC. And for the woman, we'll had big breast one. Not on my list of looking forward though, but good luck on the project though and hopefully this VN will satisfied any big breast fan in the future if it's translated.
About Indie Go Go (IGG), looks like it'll be trend in the future for localizing VN. At least it was had advantage over Kickstarter with flexible fund ie if the project didn't managed to get funded in time, the project itself could be extended compared to Kickstarter which couldn't be extended if it's failed (I guess). Also, apparently it was more flexible for the project with 18+ content ie not as restrictive as Kickstarter in term of adult content. For the report, this week we had 2 projects entering IGG (Corona Blossom and Princess Knight).
For Corona Blossom, right now it was gathered around 8,329 out of 30,000 (Half of it thanks to some backer who backed at 4,000 though), and while the goal was quite small some member here said it was probably for promotion for the VN itself. And this time Princess Knight was very surprisingly almost achieved the goal, with 10,864 out of 12,000 funded. Both VN was said will be delivered at this year, and both of IGG still had one month left for deadline. Let's see it later for both of IGG, although obviously Princess Knight will fully funded first obviously. And before forget, my condolence for Princess Knight MC seiyuu, Mochi Yomigi here who passed away at 30 years old.
Sekai Project
Well, not much here other than Maitetsu picked up again at 15.68% translation progress and WEE at 86.52%. And I think I'd said enough about Princess Knight above. For Darekoi and Memory Dogma, it was had some nice progress (78.75% for Darekoi and 42.15% for Memory Dogma) although I'm still not interested with those 2 though. And for 2 new announced VN here, Sekai was surprisingly fast at translating it (Although the VN length for those 2 was short though). By the way, the progress for both new announced VN was at 50.11% for 2236 AD and 47.08% for Love, Guitars, and the Nashville Skyline (Don't know much other than it was probably about guitar play thing). Other than those progress, not much ie no Chrono Clock and Tenshin Rahman progress once again.
Mangagamer
For 2 weeks update roundup we already had Kyonyuu (Or Funbag) Fantasy was fully translated and edited, Kuroinu at 70% translated, Imopara 2 at 46% translated, Pygmalion was at 100% translated, MYTH was about entering beta testing, and Da Capo 3 was at 94.7% translated and 91.3% edited. For nukige progress, no comment other than the progress for Kyonyuu was very fast for just recently announced VN (Or maybe Mangagamer was already did all the work, including partnering with Waffle and keep it secret before announcing it). For Pygmalion, let's see how much fast the editing will be, although hopefully it won't be too long. For Da Capo 3, actually it was had the true route translated and what's left is only epilogue/omake thing. Looks like Da Capo 3 translation will definitely finished before July, and hopefully in next 2 weeks we'll see 100% at translation progress for Da Capo 3.
Fan Translation
For Astral Air, after crazy progress from last week, it was slowed down again at 0.95% progress from last week (I'm still grateful of course) bringing the overall translation progress to 79.71%. Koiken Otome, looks like the VNTS was wrong although we had the QC update though from 86.71% to 87.71%. For Koiken Otome itself, although the game might get not so good review, just try to low your expectation very low in case you want to play it ie not expecting action like Tokyo Babel even though the premise was quite promising for that of course. Hanasaki, after reading Clephas review (He was slightly dislike it though) I think the prologue was indeed mean common route and right now it was 100% translated. About the next route for Hanasaki, they said they'll translated Hikari's route next according to this post.
Majokoi translation team just had the update after VNTS was finished, so I'll report the progress here. For the progress, it was at 5% translated and 3% edited. This is definitely good progress if I may said. Tsui Yuri, since Dergonu was faced the challenge with the name Math test (I understand) the progress was not much compared to last week, although it was still good though (3% progress, and the translation progress right now was at 25%). For last update, since Arcadeotic also busy with exam, there's not much progress in Bishoujo Mangekyou translation (The progress was at 4.7% translated for 8th script). Well, not much progress, but nevertheless good job for updating it even though both of you were busy.
And last word for Fan Translation progress, there is another new translation project for VN called Mahou Shoujo. Here's the page, and if some of you want to offer help just ask Chronopolis there.
That's all for my VNTS Review. And I think this week was quite usual ie not much excitement after many crazy time in April (I mean back in April we'd had many big release for translated VN). See you next week in my VNTS Review. Oh, and thanks for your interview with Sekai Project, Decay.
Visual Novel Translation Status (05/14/2016)
Okay, the title might be too cheesy and laughable, but it's the truth from VNTS image from otome games. For this week release, I must admit that the graphic from those 2 games were not my taste ie didn't like it too much as of now. As for the premise of the VN, one of them was quite interesting and another one was very ridiculous, so much I'm laughing inside. For ridiculous one it would be otome game which the premise was something like your pet was turned into 5 handsome man. And the man who almost kiss MC in the image header was pig before he transformed to handsome blonde man, so I based the title on that. Although the premise may be absurd, actually we had something like that in the past. The example here would be Fruit Basket, which had quite successful for both anime and manga.
For Fata Morgana, okay I'm always said that gothic art was not my style for VN, but I think another concern of mine would be VNDB Bayesian score which as of now was at 6.57 which is quite low to said that, although the vote as of now was also low at 25 votes. The premise was actually quite interesting though, it was something like MC was see the tragedy that happened in the mansion where MC was trapped or something along the line across century. Even though Bayesian score in VNDB was quite low and I might not click too much with the art, I said that you better not hesitate to play Fata Morgana. I mean that I remember I tried to play Higurashi before I apply PS2 graphic patch and it was still quite good imo (And I'd always think that old Higurashi art was bad). Might as well tried it in future and I'll try to get used to the art. After all, there should be good reason if EGS score and VNDB average score was around 8 as of now (scorp and conjueror apparently like this VN).
Other than 2 releases and usual Mangagamer 2 weeks update, this week we also had some interesting news from fan translation one, especially from dergonu and arcadeotic here. JAST was once again as usual ie no update from them at all. Although this week Mangagamer was did less update compared to 2 weeks ago, they cover very important VN this week and it was quite interesting (Also in regard of 6 announcements from them). For Sekai, the progress was same as last week, but for this week we didn't had any significant update from Maitetsu. So, overall I think compared to last week, this week actually had some quite dynamic ie more update and more interesting release.
Sekai Project
The least interesting segment would be Sekai Project, so I'll write my comment on it first. Darekoi and Memory Dogma was had some nice update, while Maitetsu somehow managed to get even more slowed down with the progress at 0.02%. As for WEE, congratulations for reaching three quarter of the translation progress or to be exact it was already at 78.20%. Well, I think I'm the same as Decay, waiting until episode 3 release and hopefully they managed to release WEE this year.
About release planning for Just Desert, I'd just read the news about the release plan and Sekai said they will released it on July 11th. What made it interesting is that they'll release it in 3 language (Indonesian, English, and Japan). Unlike back at Aokana 5 language translation promise, this time it was actually sensible promise. English should be obvious why if you want to asking the reason, and as for Indonesian since this is Indonesian VN normally they should release it in Indonesian language of course. For Japan, I kind of doubt if they could did that though but maybe they could do it if they did some extra effort imo. I think it would be interesting for sure that Sekai will publish Indonesian language VN, and to me at least I could read it in 2 of 3 language for Just Desert (English and Indonesian). Might as well comment on this later, since this VN was from my country and I think I should see how good it is.
Fan Translation
First of all, for AstralAir this week it was at 77.16% right now and looks like it was picked up after slow update from previous weeks. For arcadeotic project (Bishoujo Mangekyou), right now we had 7 out of 8 script translated (Or around 83%) and for editing it was at 9.2%. Arcadeotic promise that he'll finished this in June, which remind me that Nosebleed will released rough patch for Miu's route (Dracu Riot) around June (He promised back in April that he'll need 2 months for the first rough patch). Well, let's see it later and coincidentally both translation project was involving vampire (Coincidence maybe). For dergonu project, congratulations for reestablishing the project and from now on I will call it Tsui Yuri. Anyway, as of now Tsui Yuri progress was at around 13% or so. Oh, and finally this project was added to VNTS. Congratulations for that too, dergonu.
For more interesting news we had 2 new moege translation project sort of established. First about Hanasaki, I think the premise was about the club for the people with regret. Other than the premise, I'd only knew that this VN had quite good score at VNDB (Average at 8.09 and Bayesian at 7.60 as of now) and this is 2nd Saga Planet VN after Nijima Yuu left the company. Speaking about Niijima Yuu, his work Majo Koi Nikki also got translation project. As of now there's still no progress, but they already established the translation team as Luna Translations. Interestingly, apparently both of those 2 games only said prologue for first route instead of common route (Hanasaki only said prologue before character route by the way, and Majokoi had prologue line count one third of total line (11,000 out of 39,000 to be exact)) in the translation project. And for now I think I'll keep the eye on for both of the project (Of course if both of the project give update I'll inform it).
Mangagamer
First of all, I think people already knew that Fatamorgana was released today. I think I'll said enough in the beginning so I'll not repeat it here. And as for usual update this week we didn't had Imopara 2 update and Kuroinu at 63% (Before forgot, we also had Evangile W update at 22%). For Pygmalion and Da Capo 3, both of those were almost finished (Pygmalion was at 97%, while Da Capo 3 was at 92.5% and editing at 87.5%). And Bokuten was finally fully translated. I think the progress was indeed very good, although Da Capo 3 progress here was slightly slow down though. For Bokuten once again I'd only knew that the angel there was forming a band, both of Natsuhiko and Watase seiyuu (Root Double MC in case you forget about them) was voicing side characters here, and according to tyrosyn the H-Scenes was quite important compared to previous Overdrives games. Well, according too the progress at least we could be sure that Bokuten will be released this year.
I think that's all for my VNTS Review this week. See you next week.
PS - Apparently there will be many interesting announcement next Saturday morning. Even if the announcement was not interesting, I'll try to write my thought about it here.
PPS - I'd forgot to report this, but as of now for Libra translation they managed to translate 20% of Mari's route. I'll also keep an eye on Libra progress too.
Visual Novel Translation Status (03/26/2016)
Since Tay, Decay, and Zakamutt always submit their thought in every week at VN Translation Update, might as well try to write my thought here. The title format would be the image header of VNTS derivative word and Review, and since this week header image was Maitetsu girl train, so I'll use Densha Collection for the title (Densha mean train in Japan) and collection, well you should knew if you watch Kancolle). Note that maybe I'll deliver my though for VNTS late. And below was my review for VNTS this week.
For this week, once again the announcement at Saturday surely was underwhelming. Especially from Mangagamer which I'd already wrote my very long post about speculation for Mangagamer, which from 10 result of vote I guess Type-Moon as their future partner, oh well. But this time Sekai surprised us with Maitetsu and Tokeijikake announcement. I'll try to type my though here later but first I'll try to round up the translation progress. For all of the update, what I'd interested was only Astral Air and Karakara. As for Astral Air, good work for stable progress, but if each week we had update only at 0.4% we'll probably had 100% of Astral Air translated at 2017 (Hopefully not). For Karakara, I could not comment much other than good work for reaching 46.42% translation progress.
Now for Mangagamer announcement, we had 4. The announcement were Free Friend hardcopy, Bokuten Steam version, Yurirei drama CD, and Imopara 2.
For Free Friend hardcopy, no comment other than as long as people had necessary device like DVD RW and Free Friend download edition, they could made the hardcopy easily (Then again, maybe there was some fan who like to collect the box from every eroge hardcopy).
For Bokuten, since according to Tyrosyn the H-Scene was important for character development, maybe Overdrive will try to substitute H-Scenes with porn free scene (I think they could made it just had black screen when in H-Scene or had the characters sleep and taking about their problem). Normally this VN was the one I'd looking forward the most, but Mangagamer already translating it and at this moment the progress was at 77%, so it's still a while.
About drama CD, I knew GundamAce had translated Ever17 Drama CD at Animesuki forum. Here's the link for Drama CD Translation (Beware spoiler from Ever17 though). Although with this kind of arrangement, I'd wonder if Mangagamer will release it in Japan voice with translated script or either will hire local VA and had them voicing drama CD. First option will save cost, but to enjoy Drama CD required good listening and always need to read the script, while second option was more expensive because Mangagamer need to pay both VA and translator, but it'll allow us to understand Drama CD easily. Either way, it'll be interesting that Mangagamer will release their first Drama CD and hopefully it'll satisfied Yurirei fan, although Decay said he was satisfied enough.
Imopara 2, I think my comment was Momoka sprite copied Aya sprite (Down to seiyuu) from first Imopara. Other than that I think it'll be standard nukige involving incest between cousins and imouto, because the cousins was born from different mother, and the mothers actually was Imopara 1 heroines (I mean back in Imopara 1 MC was involved in incest with his 5 imouto). And don't ask me why all imouto and cousins in this series attracted to MC other than the reason MC was nice guy.
For Sekai, they announce Taiwan VN, South Korea VN, Sakura Spirit Ecchi Manga adaptation, Indonesia VN, Maitetsu, and Tokeijikake. For Taiwan, I think it was more eden like since it was said that the world will be destroyed because of the star. South Korea VN was more like dark love story involving NTR, I think. For Indonesian VN, well it's leaning toward dating sim and the premise was like fighting alien with you as the commander of 5 girls. The reaction from Indonesian anime community as expected quite positive. Here's the news at Jurnal Otaku Indonesia, and if some Indonesian user or lurker read that, you'll understand the news (If some of non Indonesian curious, you could just copy and paste the word to Google Translate). But the summary from the news and the comment the reaction was quite positive. For more info about Indonesian VN company, here's the website. As for Sakura Spirit Manga, no comment. And here I'll try my best to comment 2 big announcement from Sekai.
Maitetsu, what I saw it was already gather some controversy regarding censorship and loli thing. Although my interest was of course not those 2 unrelated thing, instead it was more to release date and the seiyuu as usual, beside there should be enough heat if we talk about censorship and loli. The release date actually was very new, in face one day before announcement or in America the night when this VN released. In other word it was the fastest translation news delivered (Not counting Nekopara since it was planned to be released in English at the same time for Japanese release), only few hours after released in original language. As for the seiyuu they got Kawashima Rino and Kadowaki Mai there. We obviously didn't need to doubt Kawashima experience, and Kadowaki also quite famous for Fate fan as Ilya. Another interesing note that we also had our MC voiced here. Well, let's see it later.
Tokeijikake, the opening was quite good. I'd knew that this game was translated since Shinikiss translation finished. But since this is first part of trilogy, not interested because I'd heard that the first part end with cliffhanger. Well, hopefully Sekai could also announce and release part 2 and part 3 quickly (Although I knew it's like hoping that Yandere translation translating Aiyoku no Eustia though ie impossible since the leader already too busy at work). Oh, for the seiyuu they got Kawashima Rino here too and also another name to note was Ogura Yui (Himiko from Eiyuu Senki, Eika from Ikikoi) and Moka Choko (Ageha from Konosora, Otome from Da Capo 2). Sekai promised this game will be released at 2016.
I think that's all I could comment from Sekai announcement. And one last note, could we got confirmation from Sekai if Root Double will be released at March or not. If not it's okay then, although what I understand that the flame will be going to Sekai, and many people who waiting for translated Root Double will said profanity. Well, at least we had one certain release came from Mangagamer (Tokyo Babel). For JAST, we still wait when they'll announce release date for Seinarukana.
I think that's all of my review of VNTL progress. And sorry for my bad English here.
Visual Novel Translation Status (16/06/2024)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have Trap Yuri Garden released I decided to make a parody of GL anime, Assault Lily Bouquet, with I changed 'Lily' into 'Rose' because Trap Yuri Garden is BL VN despite the wrapping. For a bit of cultural info, same sex relationship in Japan was shown by flowers, with lily for GL and rose for BL. As for this week, one thing for sure it has quite a number of releases with some of those are unexpected nice one, although in the end it's still not as big as last months. Other than the releases, we also have several updates like usual, notably from Daybreak with one of those is they started to work on Majikoi A Plus Disk translation. Overall, this week is another below average one to me, and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
Like I say beforehand, we have Trap Yuri Garden released on Steam, which bear the mention it's basically BL VN despite on how good looking the MC, Iori, and the heroines heroes as the female are. Anyway, for Trap Yuri Garden, it's about Iori who find himself attend the school which is all male school with one quirk, namely all of the students must cross-dress as the girl. Iori obviously have the problem with it at the beginning, so he initally reject it. Seeing the main rule is dressed up as the girl, Iori's rejection was obviously seen as the rebellion, and so the main heroine hero Mikage quickly put a stop to Iori's act of rebellion. While Iori still has problem with it, slowly but surely he embrace cross-dressing and start to find love in the school. Looking from the developer past works and the number of notable characters, it seems there are more parts of the VN upcoming some times later. Feel free to get the VN if you prefer BL VN with all casts cross-dress as good looking women, and have fun.
Shiravune released An Aunt After My Own Heart, and no much to say other than it's the nukige about the MC who find himself took a liking to his sexy aunt ever since he's young with him grew up to do some extreme thing to get his own aunt (Either by eloping with the aunt or wait until the aunt marry then the MC forcefully take his aunt back). As for why Valve reviewer reject it, no idea why other than the speculation the MC may be too young to be in nukige. Go get the VN if you're into nukige featuring aunt heroine, and have fun. Speaking of nukige, JAST announce the exact release date for Mojika (I know it's not really nukige considering Nitroplus and all, but the beginning is build up like one), and said date is September 6th later so you may note the date if you want to get it.
For this week fan translation updates, we have ChuSingura is at 46.79% translated, Akagoei 3 is at 78.95% edited along with 14.39% in QA, and Yosuga no Sora is at three quarter TLC-ed. We also have the work for the aforementioned Majikoi A Plus Disk has been translated, and currently it's been at 5.12% translated. We also have two sudden releases from fan translation, and one of those is December When There is No Angel (Or in Japanese Tenshi no Inai 12-gatsu), a very old VN from Leaf that they released in 2003. For the VN, we have the nameable MC Kida Tokinori who spent his life try to not bother build the relationship because of his noisy little sister. One day, Tokinori encounter his classmate, Touko, in less than usual manner, if only because Touko offer herself to have sex with Tokinori and then he accept the offer. Afterwards, both start a weird relationship and then Tokinori start to get into the weird relationship with the other heroines. Also note that the VN was about people with wounded heart, so you won't find the happy ending in this. That said, if you're looking into something that has heavy drama, feel free to get the VN and have fun.
The second release from fan translation is Miagete Interstellar Focus, which was slated to be released at July 7th later. Although apparently the translator decided to just advance the release, so we have it released back on last Friday. Content wise, it's the alternative of original Miagete with Akito decided to have relationship with both of his childhood friend, Hikaru and Saya. Of course, Pulltop being very considerate to their 12 years old French girl fanbase, they won't localize Interstellar Focus even with the sex scenes removal, so thankfully we have some fans work very hard on the translation. With this, now we have two Miagete side stories available in English uncensored, and now if only the team who work on the main Miagete uncensor patch could no longer being wishy-washy (Well, not everyone can be like the man behind Aojashin uncensored patch after all). Go get the VN if you want to see more Miagete and like threesome, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (19/05/2024)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have Amanatsu released I made a parody of Pure x Connect opening song title (Because Amanatsu writer wrote Pure x Connect), Snow x Connect, by changing 'Snow' into 'Summer' (Translation notes: Natsu mean summer), so we have Summer x Connect as the title. As for this week, I can say it definitely more active than the last one, although at the other hand there are a number of redundant announcements along with both Mangagamer and Sekai essentially announced nothing back in Anime Central. On the other hand, we have Amanatsu release with the VN itself is the first translated Azarashi Soft full length VN. Overall, this week is an above average one and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
PQube did announce two Go-toubun VN (Summer Memories and Five Memories) with the five heroines in both VNs wore nice swimsuit with two different design, and more importantly it's to allow fans to chose whichever heroine they want in case they're not satisfied with Fuutaro's canon choice in the manga and anime. I want to say it's redundant because both VNs already have translations, although PQube has announce the PC version with the fan patch only available for Switch version so at least it's not fully redundant like Tsukihime Remake. Oh yes, it'll be available on Thursday (23rd) later. Visual Arts has two redundant announcements as well, Snow Globe (Switch version only and will be available on June 27th later) and Kanon. Yes, Kanon as is the very first KEY VN that allow them to be very successful like nowadays. I'm sure everyone already know the synopsis, so I'll just say there won't be sex scenes which honestly not really big deal anyway seeing it'll be support wide screen in exchange of it (That, and KEY sex scenes are not known for being good anyway). It's also will be available on Steam, so at least you didn't need to buy Switch to play Kanon.
Kagura Games released Forsaken Quartet, and no much to say other than feel free to try the VN if you're into post-apocalyptic world and didn't mind some NTR element. We also have two BL VNs got the exact release date, with those two VNs are Yuri Trap Garden (June 10th) and Nie no Machi (September 19th). Shiravune announced their new nukige, An Aunt After My Own Heart, with it telling the story on the MC will do anything to be together with her aunt, either by eloping or take her back after she being married (So beware of NTR). For the release, at most it'll be on December 31st later (ie sometimes on this year) and the VN won't be available on Steam because the build of it being rejected. Ninetail finally announced when the Kicstarter for Ragnarok begin, and it'll be on Wednesday (22nd) later.
Sekai announced Wagahigh FD in Anime Central, and while I can see why people want it at this rate I just want them to finished what they start with two other Madosoft VNs (Raspberry Cube and Hamidashi). Also if they just localize Wagahigh FD in Chinese only while announce it on Anime Central (ie English convention), it would leave the bad taste for some people who've been waiting for it. In any case, let's hope that Sekai still willing to have it in English despite I prefer them start to work on Hamidashi English version. Speaking of work, turned out they have worked on the QA for Nekonin ExHeart Spin with they aim to release it within this year. For fan translation, we have Ushieta is at 65.6% translated with Nagisa's route fully translated, Taima Seiko Alice is at 45% translated, Majikoi Ryouken After past three quarter (75.76%) translated, Akagoei 3 is at 71.24% edited along with 7.88% in QA, ChuSingura is at 44.51% translated, and Shinzou Translation secret project is at 64% translated.
Last but not the least, we have Amanatsu released by Shiravune. Like I say beforehand, Amanatsu have to share the same writer as Pure x Connect, which in extension has the same writer as translated Smee VNs (Fureraba, Makeover, Sugar Style, HaremKingdom), Hayase Yuu, so obviously we'll going to have a lot of comedy in Amanatsu. Amanatsu is also notable in that it's the first translated full length VN from Azarashi Soft, which if we remember so far we only have three short VNs when it come to translated Azarashi Soft VN. For Amanatsu, it's about the MC Haruto who have enough in the competitive atmosphere at the big city, so he escape to the rural village hoping for some change. Afterwards, he manage to find some enjoyment in his new place, especially with he get closer with three beautiful heroines. With Amanatsu see the translation, hopefully someday we may see Amakano being localize with Amakano itself is the most well known work from Azarashi Soft with the beautiful graphic, although Amanatsu graphic is beautiful enough. Go get Amanatsu if you're in the mood for comedy moege with beautiful art, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (14/04/2024)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have Corpse Party 2 along with Cherry Kiss nukige (Hentai Homewrecker) announced I decided to combine both so we have 'Homewrecker Party' for the title. As for this week, initially it's just another below average one, although turned out this week we have some very notable updates in regard of the release plan so overall this week is an average one to a degree. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
Once again Cherry Kiss announced their new nukige, Hentai Homewrecker, with the MC was roped into have NTR by the willing housewife. No much comment that I can mention other than it'll be released in two days (19th) later. We also have Team Gris Gris was turned out still active with them silently develop the real Corpse Party 2 (Not the fanfic game one), and the VN will be available sometimes in Autumn 2024 (Between October to December) later. Oh yes, it's also will be availble on PC, so you don't need to buy the console just to play this later. For the premise, it's like the first Corpse Party with the casts dragged into the otherworld with them must do their best to escape from the vengeful ghost, except this time all of the main casts are all female (We may have male side casts reveal later though) and the casts dragged into the otherworld from the abandoned hospital instead of the abandoned school.
This week we have both Sekai and Shiravune announced the nukige with summer theme. Sekai revealed that they've been working on Kurikuri Click with the MC was does his best at his job as oil masseuse with his task job is to rub the oil into the customer's body, which eventually lead to the sex scenes when the MC at one instance was going overboard when he got sexy woman customers. Anyway, it'll be available on May 3rd later. Shiravune also revealed they've been working on Nyonin Island with the MC was hired as the island manager, and then it's revealed the MC got nice job because turned out the island has no male before the MC came to the island, so normally the female turned to the MC to have sex. For the release time, Shiravune only list that it'll be on this year. Speaking of release time, Shiravune announce the exact release date for both Mashiro Iro with said date is May 2nd, so keep the date in mind if you've been waiting for Mashiro Iro in English for some times.
From fan translation, we have Taima Seiko Alice is at 35% edited along with 10% proofreading, ChuSingura is at 42.22% translated, Akagoei 3 is at 56.28% edited, and Ushieta is past halfway (50.8%) translated with Nagisa's route is at 28.4% translated. Other than regular updates, we also have Sampaguita release, and from what I understand its the third game of Yarudora series with the MC encounter the amnesiac girl Maria who is from Philippine and carrying a gun, which tipped the MC that Maria is involving in something dangerous. Note that the patch is for PSP version, so you need PSP emulator to play it. We also have Loverable translator announce they'll release it in August later after working on it for eight years, although for now it's still up in the air. Last but not the least, we have Daybreak announce the exact release date for Yuzuki's patch release, and it'll be in 26th later so let's see if Daybreak can finally release the last patch for Ginharu at that date.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (06/11/2022)
As for this week title, since we've about to have Gore Screaming Show (GSS) release in a week along with a big update in regard of Lupercalia, I'd change the word 'Gore' with 'Hyouko' so we have 'Hyouko Screaming Show'. The reason is because in Lupercalia we have a theater actress Hyouko recite her lines, and she recite it by screaming so yeah it's literally the screaming show (The video of Hyouko recite her lines). Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week compared to the last week it's slightly calm here with several updates in which some of those are quite interesting on it's own with some releases. That said though I didn't find the releases are quite interesting, so overall this week is more or less an average one. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
artlink released Obedient Women in that it's quite an ironic title seeing that all of the heroines are involved with adultery. What I can understand is the developer decided to make ten stories with ten MCs and ten heroines, and that currently four of those stories are available in English with the rest six will probably released at later date. At least the art is quite serviceable I guess, which should be given for a nukige. Speaking of nukige, Cherry Kiss released Hypno Mama with the premise is the MC hypnotized his bully's mother as a form of revenge. It also come of with English dub for some reasons, so you can listen to the English dub in case you're somehow want to. Oh yes we also have Fakku released Sei Yariman, and I can only say that Obedient Women has better arts when it come to the heroines design (Go get the VN though if you want to play it).
JAST did announce that they'll release Slow Project on 14th later. Even though it's another Nitroplus VN, I would say that I prefer them to release Tokyo Necro simply because Slow Damage is BL VN and it's not my taste here. That said though, I understand that some BL VNs like Hashihime or Lamento are quite well received with Slow Damage here is the same, so in case you've been looking forward to play some interesting BL VN you can note the date. Also it's good to see JAST have two releases in a month to make up the lack of October release.
Sekai released Raspberry Cube in Chinese language first, and even after knew that they may have their own reason to do it (Such as the potential bigger revenue, the contract that had Sekai to release Madosoft VNs in Chinese first, or Sekai need to secure Steam store page first), in the end I still can't say that I like their action here. Well at least they sort of made up the decision with they're finally announced the exact release date for Morning Mist (The last part of Tokeijikake trilogy), and said date will be on 11th later. With Morning Mist release, it mean that Tokeijikake trilogy will be fully available in English so this should be the good time to read the previous two Tokeijikake VNs if you're still not read it yet. We also have QUALIA finished the QA process, so we can predict that for the next release Sekai will release either QUALIA or Eternal Heart (Or they could release both in this year).
For fan translation update roundup, we have Fuyu Kiss is at 70% translated, Chronos is at 40% edited, Chicchakunai Mon is at 32.39% edited, Senmomo is past three quarter (75.86%) edited with Chapter 6 is at 7.33% edited, ChuSingura is at 15.35% translated, and H2O is at 36.4% translated with Hayami's route is almost fully (96.2%) translated. We also have the aforementioned Lupercalia big update, in which the translator just finished translated the whole VN. Although just because it's been finished doesn't mean that the translator will release full translation patch directly, because there's still some works left with the translator such as editing and QC. The translator also state that he'll have another update on New Year Eve (ie December 31st) later, although as for whether said update will be in regard of full translation patch release or not we'll see.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for the title since we have Hatsumira with the premise that one of Kamikaze pilot who about to do suicide attack in World War 2 was sent into another world, I'll just parodied a certain isekai work, Veterinarian in Another World, by changing 'Vetenarian' with 'Kamikaze Pilot' so we have 'Kamikaze Pilot in Another World' as the title which admittedly is quite plain. Anyway that aside compared to the last week obviously this time it's more exciting here, thanks to Frontwing finally released Hatsumira in which it's the only interesting release for April here. Other than Hatsumira, we also have Mangagamer released Uchi no Imouto and obviously we still have fan translation updates here. Overall this week is an above average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
There's a certain nukige, Illicit Love ~Secret Time with Housewives~, that was moved up a month from the promised release date (May 27th), so we already have it released. No much to say other than it has NTR element, and have fun if you already play it (At least you didn't need to wait for another month here). Speaking of NTR, Alicesoft did release their newest VN demo with said VN has English title 'A Housewife's Healing Touch', which mean that yes Alicesoft will release it overseas with the exact release date will be at 27th later. As for NTR matter, the VN has two routes with ne of those route is NTR route and another one is Pure Love route. No much to say other than at least we can get housewife VN that Alicesoft known like to develop being translated here. Oh yes we also have Fakku localize yet another nukige, and said nukige is Iku Iku Succubuss with said VN is already in testing (The VN was also already fully translated and edited) with the release planned at this year summer.
Mangagamer did release Uchi no Imouto like I mentioned beforehand, and no much that I can say other than it should be good VN if you want to play some little sister VN so have fun if you already interested with it. Mangagamer released their survey result, and let's just say that I understand if Mangagamer being bored with the result. They also give some hints towards their future license, with one of those hints lean towards Sex Open World in which it's isekai nukige VN from Moonstone, although obviously it's too obvious guess for now (I won't be surprised if Mangagamer announced Sex Open Worl later though). We also have Shiravune announce the exact release date for Badge and Dagger, and said release date will be at June 10th later so you may note the date if you've been looking forward to see more Ruka.
For fan translation updates, we have 94.8% original lines of Summer Pockets were reworked, Senmomo was at 55.72% edited with Chapter 3 was fully edited, Ruitomo was at 13.89% translated (Common route was at 61.31% translated) along with 8.51% edited, Imaimo was at 14.1% translated with common route was at 70.3% translated, Snow was fully translated with the next focus will be going to editing and testing, Taimanin Kurenai was 90% in proofreading, Tsukihime Remake Ciel's route Day 13 was fully translated, and Houkago Cinderella was at 43.12% translated. Last but not the least we have 88 out of 139 script files for Mizuha's route of Ginharu translated, and for the info the reason on why the remaining two files were omitted it's because those two files are sounds only files.
Last but not the least we have Hatsumira released in which we finally have Frontwing release the VN smoothly without bug like Sharin, so good for them. Anyway Hatsumira here tell us the story about a Kamikaze pilot who about to do suicide attack in WW2 only to have the pilot (Ichiro) find himself in a desert with a dragon help him, and then after Ichiro find himself in the other world he decided to go back to his world at all cost in order to fulfill a promise that he made despite that what await him after he come back is a certain death. Hatsumira itself is more or less isekai VN with the less attention on the sex scenes, so I think it should be good to see it translated seeing that isekai VN here is still rare (Outside nukige one). Anyway go get Hatsumira if you interested with it since back when Frontwing tease it, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (11/15/2020)
For the title I just combined 'Sakura' from 'Sakura Succubus 3' VN that was released several days ago along (At 2nd) with 'Zombie Outbreak' because we have the Steam store for Zombie VN part 3 was opened and the VN itself is dealing with zombie outbreak, so we have 'Sakura Zombie Outbreak' as the title for this week VNTS Review. As for this week, I guess there's no much to say other than it's pretty much quite plain or like Zakamutt said an uneventful week. That said, there's still some interesting announcements to note though such as Akagoei prologue patch release along with some usual updates from fan translation, so perhaps it's still interesting week to a degree. Anyway let's see what I can write for this week as well.
Cherry Kiss decided to release yet another nukige, and this time they release a nukige with the premise an invisible man decided to make several women in his neighbourhood pregnant. The localized VN title is 'Invisible Cock: You'll Never See It Cumming', which certainly would remind you of Persona 5 normal battle lyric if you play it (Or you can just search 'Persona 5 Last Surprise' in Youtube in case you didn't play it because you didn't have necessary console to play it). As for Cherry Kiss here, I can say that at least I should give them some credits for their creative localized title along with their frequent releases even though all of their VNs are nukige lol. Go get the VN from Steam if you need some nukige and interested, and have fun.
Sekai did updated some of their project. As for the updates, currently we have Slobbish Dragon Princess was fully edited and right now they're already received the build that presumably would be used for QA, Nine Episode 4 translation progress (Translation and editing progress) was already finished and now they've waiting for the build, and the Steam store for Zombie VN volume 3 was already up with the release estimation will be at December later (No exact date yet). While Steam store for Zombie VN volume 3 opened is good because finally we can have the last part for Zombie VN episodic release, I'm more interested with Nine Episode 4 in that it's quite fast. Then again I see that Dovac did state at the Discord that they'll try to have Nine Episode 4 released at this year, so let's see if Sekai can fulfill their target later.
For fan translation updates, right now we have Taimanin Yukikaze 2 was at 85% edited, Harugi was at 71% translated with Yuuna's route was at 56% translated and Misaki's route was at 15% translated, and Eustia was at 57.61% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 29.96% TLC-ed. We also have Akagoei prologue patch in which it's obviously translate the VN up to the prologue, and according to the post the prologue itself had 5,000 lines. Go get the patch here if you want to read Akagoei's prologue in English, and have fun. Lastly we have Committee of Zero released their fix patch for Robotic Notes Elite in that it improved some of the translation and more importantly it add mouse support that Spike Chunsoft forgot to add. Go get the patch here if you felt that the translation is lacking and that you feel uncomfortable to not be able to use mouse to play Robotic Notes, and have fun. Oh there's still no patch for DaSH here, although seeing that they already stated that they'll worked on that we may see the patch in the near future.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and sorry for the short entry here. See you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (10/25/2020)
Welcome to this week VNTS and sorry for being late here, and as for the title I'll tell it at PS later. As for this week, I can see that we've been active with horror theme release (Iwaihime and Sadistic Blood) that was released at this week which to say pretty reasonable seeing that we'll going to have Halloween in four days. Other than horror VNs releases, we also have Wanko Marriage sudden release after there's some uncertainty whether it'll be released at this year or not. Of course we still have some updates, with the most notable one was in regard of Riddle Joker release at December 18th later. Overall I can say that this week is pretty good in regard of the release, and let's see what I can write for this week as well.
As for Sadistic Blood, JAST did release it back at 21st and as expected the some of the CG are very twisted when uncensored, which should be given looking from on how the artist manger to draw the character sprites beautifully. I should also add that this is the first time that JAST did offer the patch to make the mosaic appear again, which really says a lot on how twisted some of the no mosaic CG are and I already see that some of the CG are quite disturbing even with mosaic. Once again I won't suggest 15 years old to play this even with mosaic, but if you're 15 years old and really want to play it because of curiosity proceed at your own risk. Forgot to mention that while this is first translated Black Cyc VN, JAST already released Princess X that was created by the company from the same group as Black Cyc so it's quite reasonable that JAST can get Black Cyc's license. Lastly if you interested with Sadistic Blood because of the twisted CG and also the because of the writer Izumi Ban'ya previous works (Mugen Renkan, Kuroinu and euphoria), go get that and have fun.
We also have a good news in that finally we have age started producing Kiminozo for English production according to this tweet. While granted that this is the former age's Magnum Opus before it change to Muv Luv (And milking it), nowadays I guess I can say that I'm not particularly looking forward to it because it looks too dated to me. That said if you want to see more triangle love VN you can get it later, although age themselves still not give the release date though. By the way in regard of which version that age would like to translated, I would guess that the most obvious answer here would be the planned reboot version that was announced some times ago. There's also Wanko Marriage release in that apparently it got some translation problem, although I didn't pay much attention to it seeing that it's just an usual light moege. Go get that though if you want to see the MC run the cafe with dog girl, and have fun.
From fan translation, we have Loverable was at 92.09% translated, Harugi was at 68% translated with Yuuna's route was at 41% translated, 17,186 lines of Pure x Connect are translated, and Eustia was fully edited along with 55.90% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 20.86% TLC-ed (With Eustia fully edited here obviously it mean that I'll fully focused on TLC progress from now on). Nekonyan did announce that they'll release Riddle Joker at December 18th later, which to say was quite surprising to me seeing that I was not browse internet at the time when Nekonyan announce it for several reasons. In any case, since mod Clephas did say that Riddle Joker plot here resemble Dracu Riot I would say that you can just directly play Riddle Joker in case you still waiting Nekonyan released Dracu Riot, although if you still curious about Dracu Riot after finished Riddle Joker of course you can try the former when Nekonyan release it. As for me, well I guess I'll gonna try it later when it's released because after all more Yuzusoft VNs in English is always good.
As for Iwaihime, I would say that it should be good VN if you still very new in that you still not playing any of Ryukishi's VNs. Or rather the comparison would be like you should play Summer Pockets before trying any of KEY VNs, and also you should try Riddle Joker first before trying Dracu Riot. So if I may summarized what Iwaihime is, it would be that I see a lot of deja vu from both of Higurashi and Umineko plot (Mainly Higurashi though) and therefore it should be good for the beginner. Of course like both of previous Ryukishi's work, there'll be no explicit sex CG althoough it didn't mean that there'll be no sex contents though, and more importantly there'll be a lot of horror as both of his previous works can show. The premise here is that we have our MC Susumu who transferred to a new school and met with a creepy girl with the name Toe, and somehow Susumu got a feeling that he must help Toe at any cost. While I did say that it have a lot of deja vu from the previous works, I can still say that Iwaihime here is good on it's own so go get that if you interested with more horror VN and have fun.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
PS - For the title I decided to have VA parody by change the alias from one of the heroine in Iwaihime (Nunokawa Riria) 'Cleaning Princess Magical Lily' into 'Cleaning Princess Magical Malty', because both of Riria and Malty of Shield Hero anime share same VA (Bridcutt Sarah Emi). And yes I know that the title is very ironic, because while Malty here is princess and magical (She's a mage) she's anything but clean as Shield Hero fans can attest. Speaking about VA parody, I see that Riria's stage name is Kurusu Riria and it makes me wonder if Ryukishi play too much Chaos Child when he wrote Iwaihime and cast the VA for Riria because there's Chaos Child heroine with a same name family that share the same VA (Kurusu Nono).
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I decided to combined both of Pure x Connect opening song title (Snow x Connect) with Makeover opening song title (Girl's Carnival) because we have the progress from both of those two Smee's VNs (Pure x Connect prologue patch release and the increase in Makeover translation progress), so we have 'Snow Carnival'. Apparently there's a short movie with the same title that was produced back at 1949 according to IMDb and that the movie itself promoted the ski resort, but of course I won't review that here because I can't find the movie (It's inevitable I suppose). As for this week, after quite dry last week surprisingly we see a lot of updates from both of official and fan translation sections, so I would say that we have a good week here. Let's see what I an write for this week as well.
For the first update we have our Steam apparently having the bad mood so that they decided to ban Yotsunoha, which obviously hinder Sol Press attempt to release it. We still didn't know though what's the next step that Sol Press will take to circumvent it, but hopefully they'll be able to release Yotsunoha in the future even if Steam wouldn't lift their ban on that VN (I guess Sol Press can try to sell it in the other shops just like Nekonyan when HGB was banned by Steam). We also have some progress from Sekai as well, in which it's quite surprising although too bad though it's not in regard of either Majokoi, Daybreak, or Nanairo. But instead the progress that we have are Rewrite+ was at 67% translated and Nekonin 3 was at 71% translated, which to say was not kind of projects that I look closely. If anything, at least they started to give the update more frequently (Biweekly just like Mangagamer), so at least it's good for them. Other than that, we also have Meru indirectly said that Flowers Autumn translation progress was already past halfway mark at her Curious Cat here, so at least there's some work on Flowers there.
From Mangagamer, after Amrilato we have three more projects that were finalizing the release build which mean that we have three more VNs almost ready for the release, although unfortunately Haretaka was still in beta though. As for the projects that are in finalizing progress, they are Hashihime, Amatarasu, and Minagoroshi (At least we can enjoy Higurashi penultimate arc with voices in the near future). Other than those three, we have Sengoku Rance finished the testing (Whatever), Sona-Nyl was finished the translation progress, image editing for Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 was in progress, NyanCafe was both fully translated and edited, WanNyan was at 40% edited, and Sukehime was past halfway (54%) edited. We also have one more secret project from Mangagamer, so excluding the revealed projects we currently have six unknown projects from them. For the updates of secret projects, we have 1st was at 88% edited, 6th was at 66% translated along with 9% edited, 7th was at 66% translated along with 65% edited, and the newest one (8th) was at 48% translated along with 10% edited. They also will have Anime Central announcement at 19th later, in which it might be one of secret projects (I wouldn't expect well known title though). That's all for Mangagamer section here.
Other
We have Hemoimo release, in which despite questionable premise and title it was translated by one of well known translator (Cafe). As for the premise itself, we have cute little sister that was voiced by Akiko Hana (Yuzuyu from Fureraba, Kath from Evenicle, Alice from Newton VN, R-Ne from Corona Blossom) suffered hemorrhoid, and somehow she decided to tell the MC about her suffering. Of course the MC as a responsible man decided to help his little sister and as time goes on both of the MC and his little sister getting entangled in incest relationship. Other than that, I can only say it's that we finally can have the release after it did have a lot of hardship at the beginnng seeing that it was banned at Steam (For a very obvious reason) and almost cancelled. Anyway go get the VN if you in need of some short nukige, and have fun. Speaking abut nukige, we have Cherry Kiss announced two nukige (Aunt cousin nukige and isekai nukige) in which the MC will have sex with his aunt and tsundere cousin for the former, while for the latter nukige we'll going to have the MC raping the female knights who each of then rule a territory. Needless to say I'll pass those two announcements.
From Nekonyan, we have several good updates. First of all, we'll going to have Sukiren released at 31st later so at least it help alleviate Nekonyan's burden a bit, and of curse this obviously the good news for anyone else who've been looking forward to Sukiren since it's announced back at a year ago. Fr the updates, we have Hello Lady started the translation progress and currently going nicely, Senren Banka was at 20% translated and edited, Makeover was at a quarter translated and edited, and last but not the least we have Aokana was almost finished the translation progress at 90% translated while at the same time was at halfway edited. From the look of it, I think it might be possible if Nekonyan released Aokana at this year although for now it's still too early to tell though. In any case, I hope that they keep the good work there.
Fan Translation
For fan translation roundup, we have Summer Pocket was at 27.62% translated, Watamasu was at 78% translated, and Loverable was at 64.51% translated. We also have Eusta was currently at 70.03% translated with Licia's arc was almost finished at 95.97% translated, and more importantly we have Eris's patch released in which it'd covered ~36% part of the whole Eustia. While I'm still prefer the full patch for the obvious reason here, at least we'd getting closer to breaking Eustia's curse in which it's been infamous because back at 2012 we have Takajun of Yandere translated it and finally managed to release Fione's patch, only to have his effort fall short because there's no continuation to the older project (Which is understandable seeing that Takajun did have 12-13 hours of works). In any case with Daitoshokan and Yoake available in English, if Eustia is fully translated then we'll going to have three August's VNs translated in that it'll break the famed August's curse even further. Well good luck to Eustia's translation team to finish the rest, and you can get Eris's patch here if you want to try it.
Like I say at the beginning, we have Pure x Connect prologue patch released. As for the patch, it's obviously only covered the prologue so you still need to wait if you want to play it fully in English (Duh). For the team's next plan, they'll release the common route patch next in which it'll have at least 13,000 lines translated, although it might take a while though. As for the progress for Pure x Connect itself, currently we have 7,205 lines translated with 3,560 lines edited (Out of 43,896 lines). You can get the prologue patch for Pure x Connect here if you want to try it, and have fun. For the last update, we also have Rhapsody's update in which the translator managed to translate hot spring event from the first append disk, while at the same time there's some other works going at the same time (Such as translating character profile, working on image menu, and TLC-ing Chapter 2.
I guess that's all for this week, and see you next week.
Foreword - Since admin Tay was still absence and Nekonyan was probably getting busier with the updates (So does Decay), obviously we didn't have another VNTS here. So here's this week VNTS Review from mine, and I hope that you'll enjoy week review.
Since we have surprise big release Baldr Force and part one of Daresora release, I decided to just combined 'Baldr' and 'Tears' into 'Baldr Tears'. The meaning for Baldr itself should be obvious that it was came from Baldr Force ie Baldr Series from GIGA, while for 'Tears' part it was came from Daresora localized subtitle 'Tears for an Unknown Sky'. With the title matter done, welcome to this week VNTS Review in which the updates that we'd have were mostly focused on both of fan translation with the aforementioned big release Baldr Force, and Other section with two newly announced KS (Frontwing's Loca Love and Fruitbat's Deven Days). Let's see what I can write for this week as well, shall we.
First of all, congratulation to our Mangagamer CEO Kouryuu that he finally managed to fully translated Maggot Bait, which surely would be mentally tasking for someone who didn't like some extreme and guro stuff. Although the translation for Maggot Bait was already finished, it didn't mean that the process was finished because after that it'll be in TLC by other people and after that if the flow goes like usual, they'll going to edit and testing the Maggot Bait before the release (By the way, good luck to the TLC-er, the editor, and the tester to endure the Maggot Bait). Other than Maggot Bait update, we also have Sekai did open the Steam store page for Bokukotsu which mean that at least Bokukotsu should already be ready to be released. Interesting to note that Steam apparently did allow 18+ content to be added at their store, so perhaps Sekai will released the uncensored version at Steam as well although I'm still wary a bit though that Steam may change their policy in the future, but perhaps it might be the new change for visual novel market considering that most of VN did have 18+ content.
Other
This week Frontwing decided to open the KS for Loca Love, and this time Frontwing decided to release it as episodic release just like Corona Blossom. While it make sense that Frontwing want to release it like that, unfortunately I'm in favor for full release instead of episodic release because if they decided to do that it mean that the reader wouldn't be able to get the full story for the VN that they'd read, and I'm sure that most people would prefer Frontwing to release full version of Loca Love. That said seeing that we have three heroines for Loca Love, perhaps Frontwing would like to devoted each chapter for one heroine so it might be work considering that Loca Love here is probably just an ordinary moege. As for the KS itself (For the first part), once again Frontwing decided to use it as their own pre-order store for the physical edition with the base goal at 30,000 with currently the gathered fund was at 12,612. Oh, we also have Frontwing said that they'll gonna release Sharin at December later after many delays, but seeing that we already have it translated since long time ago (And discussed to the death) I'm more or less just treat as the redundant release even with the knowledge that they'll also released the FD as well.
For Daresora, well good for Sol Press that they managed to release it on time at the exact date that they'd announced back when Daresora was announced (Back at 14th). I just hope that Sol Press will keep up their current good performance, namely that they didn't overestimated the release time when they announced any new announcement like back at Sakusakura. As for Daresora itself, it's just the first part of that and one hour at that so we may wouldn't see enough of what the VN itself will offer, although I admit that it would be easier to the writer though if the company decided to release it episodically. That said, seeing that the writer also did write ChronoBox in the past perhaps we can expect some disturbing contents in the VN itself, although apparently we couldn't see that yet in the first part. Well go get Daresora from Sol Press if you've been looking forward into it and have fun, even though you may be able to finish it in one hour at most.
We also have Seven Days KS in which the VN itself is an unique one, considering that it was funded through the crowdfund with some help from Fruitbat. About the Seven Days, for the doujin VN that was funded through the crowdfund I would say that the production value of that is quite high, and interestingly the developer also did manage to get two well known seiyuu (Uesaka Sumire and Shimizu Ai) to voiced two characters in Seven Days. As for the premise itself, it was in regard of the MC (Shuuichi) who have an encounter with the ghost which possessed the Blu Ray disc and try to exorcise it, only for the exorcise to be partially successful because the ghost was leaving behind the physical body which turned out to be a girl body. The girl was also said that there's other six ghosts inside of her, and after hearing the ghost story Shuuichi decided to help all of the seven ghosts with each ghost have seven days to gain their own happiness before departed. As for the base goal, it was only at 20,000 with the current fund gathered was at around three quarter (15,221) of the base goal itself. Also interesting to note that this was another KS with the goal to gather the fund for physical edition, and that Fruitbat was estimated that they'll release it at December later.
Like what I said earlier here, yesterday we have some updates from Nekonyan so I'll roundup the update here. For the updates we have Sanoba was at 90% for both of TLC and editing progress along with halfway QC-ed, Fureraba mini fandisc was at 60% translated, Sukiren was at 30% translated, and Aokana was at 6% translated. No much to comment other than Sanoba progress was going smoothly, and that Sukiren was interestingly already have sizable progress. As for Aokana, I understand that the script was probably did have a lot of line so good job for the current progress.
Fan Translation
For fan translation roundup, we have Eustia was at 51.42% translated along with 42.10% edited and 41.59% TLC-ed, Harugi's overall was at 17% translated with Tonoko's route was at 66% translated and Branch was at 27% translated (Along with 20% edited), Pure Pure was at 85.15% translated with Tobari's route was at 49.53% translated, and Loverable was at 85.14% TLC-ed along with 41.63% edited and 21.03% QC-ed. Other than those updates we also have Taimanin Asagi Zero was about to be translated by one of the fan, although seeing that Asagi is one part of well known nukige series I wouldn't sure if I'm gonna look forward to the eventual release of that.
Once again we have Baldr Force as the big release for this week, and to be frank it was quite surprising because at first I thought that the translator was attempted to do his very belated April Fool prank at 4chan lol. Of course we should be happy that the translator was turned out to tell the truth, and more since we could consider Baldr Force as one of most well known VN that people want to be translated (Even though the translator chose to translated the backport from PS2 version, so no explicit sex contents were translated). As for the premise of Baldr Force, we have our MC Tohru who joined a team of hacker before everything's going wrong and the team caught in the crossfire between the military and the terrorist, and one of his teammate was killed. From there Tohru decided to join the military in order to search of whose the one that killed the team leader and possibly avenge him, while at the same time uncovered the truth behind both of the military and the terrorist. From what I saw, I think we can treat Force here as sort of it's more popular spiritual sequel (Baldr Sky) prototype, and perhaps you can try Force first while waiting for Sky for a very long time. For the last word here, while Force here did have good reception I would still said that don't trust they hype and look by yourself whether it'll be good not. Have fun if you've been interested with Force for a while there.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (01/06/2018)
Welcome to my first VNTS Review at 2018, and sorry for very late here. As for the title, since we have four girls from Phantom Trigger as the image header I decided to just use Four-Girls Ensemble trope, only that I decided to add 'Phantom' part which of course came from Phantom Trigger itself. As for the first week in 2018 here to be honest there's not much to talk about if we looking from the updates here, though if one want to talk about of how many irresponsible users spreading the spam at the forum then there's a lot to talk at this week. Of course we wouldn't want to talk about that deeply here, would we? Anyway while I did say there's no much to talk about for VNTS, it mean that we still have some update to talk here even though it's only a few. So let's see what we got for this week.
As for Phantom Trigger, Frontwing was about to release Volume 4 here and they already opened the Steam store for that so at least it should be ready for the release. Although Steam just said it'll be released at this month, we already knew that it'll be released at 26th later. No much comment from this other than it should be good for Sakurako's fan (Her first name was Chris by the way), because the 4th volume here will be focused on her and her dark past. Other than Phantom Trigger, we'll gonna have Code Realize will be release at March 30th later for PS4, and we also gonna have the fandisc release for both of PS4 and PSV version. As for my comment, well it's good I guess if they want to release the fandisc as well because usually we only have main version translated in regard of VNs release - not that I'm interested with otome though, and for console at that. There's also a post from Cherry Kiss in which they'll gonna publish another Norn nukige VN (Which is about masochist tsundere idol thing), in which they'll gonna do the KS for that. Still no detail in regard of that yet, but at least we already knew that Chrry Kiss have all access to Norn's nukige to be licensed overseas (And translated obviously).
This time there's a release of 2236 by the original company at Japan instead of Sekai (Including translated version), and it's stated that Sekai will gonna to do the release later. Which sounds quite confusing considering that Sekai was the one who have the license, and obviously it should be up to Sekai for translated version release. Not that I interested with the VN though, although maybe it's hinted at something bigger inside Sekai though especially in regard of their bad releases, because it could be trigger many Japanese companies to just release the translated VNs by themselves instead through Sekai like they usually do. Speaking of that, Sekai did posted the apology at Hoshimemo KS in which they promised us that they'll gonna look at the mistakes - which probably because Hoshimemo did get some (Sorry) flak at the most recent review (Looks like Hoshimemo was not reviewers taste here I suppose). Though that said, it's not like I'm the one who interested in regard of this though since this release was already redundant to me here. For the last word in regard of Sekai, I would say that it'll be more better if they take care of Tokeijikake problem as well.
Right now there's an update from Eustia as usual, although it's kind of regressing a bit though compared to the last week which probably just some line count different (Hopefully) - the new progress number for Eustia was at 18.70% edited and 17.89% TLC-ed. As for other project here, we also have Loverable with usual progress in which it's very close to be completed in regard of the translation (98.84% translated, with Kaho's route was at 92.3% translated), along with 67.66% TLC-ed and 28.32% edited. For the rest of the project here, we got Musumaker was at 46.1% translated in which it getting the big boost compared to usual progress, Pure Pure was past halfway (51.18%) translated for overall with Chapter 3 was at 78.26% translated, Venus Blood Chimera was at 95.9% translated, and Majokoi was at 98.41% translated along with 95.05% edited. Also we have Koiken Otome fandisc resume the translation starting from Shiho's route (49% translated), and right now it was at 9% translated for overall.
I think that's all for my first VNTS Review at 2018, and sorry for be very late here once again, See you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (07/02/2016)
I knew that the moment you saw the title, you'll remind of some infamous Sakura franchise, and I planned to give Sakura Christmas 2 Review for the title since there's Sakura VN for Christmas. Then turned out the VN title was Sakura Santa. Don't worry, I'm not playing Sakura Christmas yet because it's not released yet (Hopefully Winged Cloud didn't get the idea for their new Sakura VN here). Oh, and the reason for the title it was from SakuSaku (Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura doki) title and Grey Christmas incident in Baldr Sky. Yes, this is once again not my review on Sakura Santa obviously, but my opinion in regard of AX announcement here of course. Today there's a lot happening, rollback (My VNTS Review was one of the victim by the way) and Sekai announcement. Well, let me try to tell my opinion in regard of this year AX after I write my emergency VNTS.
There's nothing too exciting from Sekai progress, and for roundup we had 2236 at 87.83% translated, Nashville fully translated, Memory Dogma 66.34% translated, and Chrono Clock 24.19% translated (Slight update from 23.9% translation progress back at Saturday).
For fan translation, first of all let me said congratulation once again to both of SupremeTentacle and Chuee for their completion at Astral Air translation, and thanks to both of you for giving stable translation progress (Before forgot, we also had Irotoridori 13% edited). Koiken Otome was at 96.77% QC right now, so hopefully it wouldn't be long for the release. We also had first progress from Witch Garden translation with the new team (Luna Translation), and for the progress it was 62% translated, 4% edited, and 5% TLC. And for other Luna project here (Majokoi) we had 21% translated and 11% edited. Bishoujo Mangekyou, we had 22.9% progress in editing. From Tsui Yuri we had 43% translation progress and 40% editing progress. We also had Hanasaki progress here with Hikari route 26% translated. For Tsuki no Yorisou (Tsukiyori) we had Luna route 16% translated.
Finally, we also had surprise here. We had Daitoshokan translation became active again. Hopefully this time they will finish it and break August Curse (The August Curse mean that all August game will be not fully translated). For the progress, it was also surprisingly quite big, and almost complete (89.82% translation and 77.07% edited). Lastly there's 3 release for this week VNTS (KARAKARA, Tomoyo After, and SoniComi).
With my emergency VNTS is now done, I'll tell my thought for each company sorted based on their panel time, starting from Mangagamer.
By the way, Aksys here announce that Virtual Last Reward here was going to Steam, and 999 was indeed also going to Steam. As for the rest of announcement from them, not interested (Mostly otome game, but if some user look forward to that it's okay).
Mangagamer
This time they indeed bring 3 new partners here. But let's just said that it was not expected partner, or rather quite unknown partner. For my comment about Chuuable Soft, there's already news that the CEO from the company will attend AX, and turned out their partner was Mangagamer here. As for their announced VN, not a lot of interesting topic that I could talk about here, but at least I knew that from now on for each two weeks I need to keep my eye on those 5 VN Translation Progress that Mangagamer announced here. Here's my opinion in regard of Mangagamer release.
Suki Suki, well looks like it was only usual moege, but I heard that there was some interesting unique dating system and emote thing. I just checked VNDB and apparently there's Scenario Selection tag and Dating Simulation tag. I didn't knew of how Dating Simulation will apply here, but at least I knew that Scenario Selection there apparently would be like Majikoi or if some want to strictly following VNDB tag, that would be Imopara here. Nothing too special from the segment imo, but then again I just saw this playlist on Youtube to did a little research here. Maybe we could see more later if released.
Hadaka Shitsuji, well for answering Decay comment back at VNTS last Saturday (Which also got swept by rollback), let's just said that I'm interested in naked butler only if some flying pig was born at March 34th ie never happening. Anyway, for this announcement I think it's quite redundant because it was already translated in the past back at 2013 (It was hosted at TL Wiki too), even though the translation wasn't quite good for some people from some commentary that I read. The premise was like you got the strange job with very big payment, and the job was you must live for some time within mansion that full of handsome butler. The butler will obey ANYTHING that you order, no matter what (Including sex of course), and our male MC here was found his sadistic urge to sexually abuse the butler (This game had High Sexual Content tag at VNDB by the way). I would like to ask why not maid though, but then again the writer was like butler and yaoi, so there's that.
First time otome game was interest me from very start. Boukaku premise was like our high red eye female MC was got shunned because of her intimidating appearance. And 2 handsome man was interested to turn MC here into model. The premise here remind me of Paradise Kiss anime in regard of turning ordinary woman into model. The reason I was interested in this because this is first otome that had explicit sex scene, which was quite rare for otome game itself. Anyway, although the premise remind me of Paradise Kiss, if I may said the formation of female MC and 2 male character remind me of this bad nukige from Mangagamer earlier days.
Dal Segno, my first comment here would be will Circus release Al Fine game in future, now that we had Da Capo and Dal Segno (By the way, those 3 were terms in music). The premise is like MC was transferring to the star shaped island that had eternal summer. After that, MC will meet with 5 girls, one of them was AI with girl shape (Well, if I didn't knew that we could date space ship in My Girlfriend is the President, I'd definitely think that had date with AI was quite unusual). For more info, apparently the translator for this game would be Kouryuu if we looking back at his Twitter when Decay asking if Kouryuu will translating this ie Decay suspect that Dal Segno will be Kouryuu next job. Well, if we look from developer, maybe we will had something like Da Capo, only in summer.
While I admit that I like extreme sex scene back in Haruka (More like to the writing though), in Maggot Bait I wouldn't so sure to like it here. What I knew for now here that the opening was not as elegant as euphoria (More upbeat here), we will had many witch, and the setting here was quite dark so much that if Nitroplus was develop this I wouldn't be surprised here (Instead of developing SoniComi). From sex tags at VNDB, let's just said it was quite extreme. But at least I knew some members here like this so much.
That's all for Mangagamer section
Frontwing
For both of Grisaia side story, I didn't interested to those so my response here would be whatever.
The most exciting announcement from them would be obviously Island. The premise here would be some isolated island was had some sort of misfortune and disease. And the key to solve this situation was apparently lies in hand of MC. For other info, I knew that Conjueror and Garejel like this game, the writer and art team also responsible for Himawari, and Clephas didn't like this too much (Oh, and this is Frontwing 15 years anniversary project). And for the seiyuu we also got Yukari Tamura here. For my suggestion here, just find out if this game good or not by yourself later.
JAST
Nothing interesting here, so let me summarize this in one paragraph. One word for Katahane remake and Eiyuu Senki here would be redundant (Both of those were already translated). For Katahane, unless the remake offer new content here, I think Katahane remake announcement wasn't too interesting. While for Eiyuu Senki here the only thing that make me look forward to this release would be translated sex scene, and before forgot actually it's logical outcome if JAST picked Eiyuu Senki, if only the team behind this also the same team behind Romanesque (Since we already had Eiyuu Senki PS3 version translated with some sex replacement scene, Eiyuu Senki entering Steam here also logical outcome). For last announcement, interesting choice for some people who like monster girl nukige I guess.
Sekai Project
Okay, there's some interesting announcement from them. But let me commented on SakuSaku situation first here. Okay, so XReaper word back in my PM was true, and to be honest the moment I hear the opening was heard in stream, I'm was shocked and directly closing the window. Even though I'm slightly disagree with this, it's still Akerou choice here to sell it to Sekai. Personally, as long as they had 18+ version readily available, I didn't had problem with that. And one thing that made me find this tolerable, at least Akerou here didn't go Ren's way in regard of Aokana translation beforehand.
The most interesting thing from Sekai would be Baldr Sky. I remember that the moment I heard Dive 1 opening, I directly post about this in here. Okay, this VN was had some history with twice failed translation attempt. Back at VNDB, I saw some pointless anger in regard of this VN entering Steam. What I want to said that while entering Steam mean that there will be no 18+ content and GIGA will not release it uncensored, at least GIGA had some experience for releasing the game without H-Content. Just look at Duel Savior for example if you curious, I mean that translated version here had choice between PS2 version (No Sex Content) and PC version (With Sex Content). What I'm hoping here that if GIGA intended to release it on Steam, make sex scene replacement like Eiyuu Senki or Duel Savior, or if not hopefully sex scene here would be very pointless in the beginning. One more info, quite interesting that Aroduc was confirmed to translated this, while I knew that he was complained about how GIGA engine was pain to decode or something like that. Once again note that I didn't care much about sex scene removal here. By the way, the premise here was like some sort of calamity called Grey Christmas causing the world to be almost destroyed or something along the line.
For nukige with Nekopara artist art, not interested. As for Sunrider Idol VN (Starnova), the premise remind me of Idol Master here. Other than that, not much comment although maybe they'll need Kickstarter for Baldr Sky later.
I'll write my tier in expectation later at Arcadeotic thread, but I think that's all my opinion about the announcement here.
PS - I forgot another announcement. It was Kiminizo from Degica. What I knew is that it was only logical outcome that Degica will license this, it was had some depressive ending, and in western it was renaming to Rumbling Hearts. Once again, this VN was the beginning of Muv Luv, current Cash Cow Franchise from age. The premise here was like there were 2 boys and 2 girls who already friend for long time here. And also apparently we'll had triangle love drama here.
PPS - For Starnova, other than quite stripperiffic how those costume for the idols were, there's also interesting fact that apparently Love in Space had enough money to hire 7 eroge seiyuu who had some experience in voicing eroge. The most recognizable name for me would be Himari here. But I also wonder if they'll need kickstarter to cover all of the seiyuu cost here, or if not we'll probably will got short VN here. Well, I'm quite interested with this for now.
Visual Novel Translation Status (06/04/2016)
For this week title since Clannad was like FF7 in term of popularity (And obviously this week image header was from Clannad, or to be exact Clannad side story), while KEY was like Square but more focused in Visual Novel, I decided to made 'Compilation of Clannad' as my devariation for Compilation of Final Fantasy 7. About the Clannad side story, from the review that I read about Clannad side story, it was contained some past from Clannad character, and also after story for some character (So, I think it's quite fitting for compilation, since FF7 Compilation was mostly in prequel and sequel from what I knew). Here's the review by Mazyrian if you want to find out more. Also, if we compared some spoiler between Clannad and FF7, I think it was quite alike imo, although some of you probably should already knew what I mean.
Well, once again here's my VNTS Review from this week. For this week, only Sekai and Fan Translation project that had something more positive in usual thing (I mean update from the translation progress of course), while JAST wasn't had much interesting progress right now. As for Mangagamer, actually they'll had usual progress next week, but this week they release one nukige which the premise was like MC was working under his ex girlfriend who became the wife of MC boss at the company. Use your imagination what will happen. And by the way, since Corona Blossom wan't part in any of section here, I'll just report that right now it was gathered 11,395 out of 30,000. While Zakamutt said it was quite slow, at least it's still better than Chunsingura Kickstarter (Which right now finally managed to reach 11,000 funded, in about 9 hours before closing ie total failure). Beside we still had one month anyway, and it wasn't state how much day left for the campaign. In short, I think Corona Blossom had decent chance to be funded, and we will had extention if the goal wasn't reached (Probably).
Before I'm writing the round up, about otome hate mail my suggestion would be just ignore whatever 'boredom curing activity' that those trolls had, although in regard of something with gun, I believe it's already criminal level (And here it's more pointless, since Tay here was not CEO of some VN Publisher like Dovac which I'd remember also received similar case). Well, if they really hate otome and complained about torrent take down in Fuwanovel, I would suggest just use Google and search for it, idiot (Not Tay, but the people who message him '... you killed fuwanovl when you took town torrents, and your killing your future by giving otome a single breathe...' of course). Well, I think that's enough for my response about admin Tay problem, and once again it's his right to cover otome game release.
JAST USA
Nothing interesting here, but for roundup here we had Ryoko at 20% script editing, SoniComi was finished dubbing and had programming and game testing right now, Flower was editing at 40% (Also beta testing at 10%), and Seinaurukana was debugging and had programming (For Steam version obviously). Even if I said the progress here wasn't interesting, at least it's improvement from JAST by had translation progress here, and by the wat the last time we had update from JAST was one month ago, when Seinarukana release. But, I think most people here would be interested to Flower progress, which back at February JAST release the demo of it with some infamy. I think right now it wasn't on my interest, but I'll read it in the future (And of course if JAST managed to release it). And for some people who waited for Seinarukana Steam version, the update about that should be the good news. For the rest, no comment.
Mangagamer
The reason I opened this section was not because the release of this nukige (I'll already said about that too). But because conjueror 'boredom curing activity' thing together with some translator out there (By the way, the man expression on his twitter was quite annoying imo). And since conjueror was translatior from mangagamer, I figured that I should put it here. Okay, instead of focusing on his cancelled countdown twitter with once again a man with very annoying expression about to do suicide, I'll bring the focus to his ask.fm here. It was in regard of Himawari, which the translator said that it shouldn't be long time before it was finally released (But definitely not as near as countdown indicate). Okay, so apparently from ask.fm answer, Conjueror said that Frontwing was sort of took long time to reply him, in which he said that they probably busy with Island itself. Well, even though I accused Front Wing will doing something divisive ie decided to release Himawari by themselves, for now let's just see it.
Sekai Project
Nothing interesting, although for this week Darekoi (51.42% translated) and Love and Guitar (52.5% translated) was pass halfway for the translation progress itself. While we at Sekai here, WEE Episode 3 was reach 90% mark translated (93.29% to be exact). And for this week, we didn't had any progress for Maitetsu. Oh, and from Sekai there's some great news, especially for yuri fan. What I'll talking is that for Princess Knight, they reached the goal at Indie Go Go (12,000) with the project managed to raise 16,148 with 20 days left. Well, it means that the IGG was success of course. And about the seiyuu replacement, they announce that they managed to got the new seiyuu who will voice MC here. The seiyuu name was Anzu Hana, and according to VNDB she was voiced Kawamura Reo from Sono Hanabira franchise and Tori Kohane from Kara no Shoujo 2. By the way, I'd just realize that for Princess Knight they'll release 2 episodes, and Anzu Hana will once again voicing MC, replacing Mochi Yomogi who was passed away. For Creature Romance, I think I'd already make a comment about Kokonoe Kokoro, but I think 'for the Ladies' version is more absurd ie instead of dating handsome man here like usual otome game, here we'll had a date with 2 'handsome' male alien there. Oh, and for Indonesian lurker or reader here, you could read the article about that from Jurnal Otaku Indonesia (If you not from Indonesia and look at the article, just look at the picture and judge by yourself is the alien handsome or not). Anyway, for Creature Romance series both of VN were 100% translated. That;s all for Sekai Project section now.
Fan Translation
Actually, before I write my roundup there's another project for translating VN here. The VN was Kanojo to Ore to Koibito to or I'll called it Kanobito from now on. Anyway, as for the progress, right now mitchhamilton managed to translated 25 scripts, and according to him the script was quite short (By the way, VNDB classify this as medium length). Good luck once again, mitch. Oh, and about VN info, this VN was first VN from Pulltop Latte (Their 2nd VN was Koiresort). The premise, it was like the main girl causing some injury to MC indirectly (Like saving her) and the girl decided to take the responsibilities by taking care of MC. After MC recovered, the girl decided to had MC as the lover, but since this is VN of course we must had more than one girl who love MC. According to Clephas, he think Kanobito was full of sex scene but ultimately heartwarming. For the project page, you could see it here. And also congratulation for your project to be added on VNTS Page, mitch.
For usual fan translation progress, this time Astral Air managed to be more crazy again in term of progress (I thought that 1.6% progress was already crazy, and here we had 1.65% progress from last week). Anyway, for this week Astral Air progress finally touch 80% translated, or to be exact was at 81.36% translated right now. And for Koiken Otome, it was at 90.2% QC (Does it mean we'll see English patch soon enough? I hope so). Clover Days, we had 100% Izumi route translated thanks to Ittaku, although he didn't sure if astro still active though. For Majokoi, we had 7% text translated, while for Hanasaki, as expected they started with Hikari route, although they had some progress with Ayano route though (The progress right now was 6% translated for Hikari route and 3% for Ayano route). For Tsui Yuri, the progress was significantly raise with 32% translated and 4% edited, and as for Bishoujo Mangekyou, the progress was 16.4% translated for 8th script (Or around overall 86% percent according to Arcadeotic). For last update, we had ToHeart 2 translation team proofreading Konomi's route. I think that's all for my roundup in fan translation progress.
I think that's all for VNTS review this week. See you next week.
