Getchu Bishojo Game Awards 2016 are out
littleshogun replied to ChaosRaven's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Let me try to do resurrection work on Getchu Awards 2016 here, and conveniently we have big updates on two VNs in top 20 (Otome Domain and Ginharu) at this week here. Senmomo here is quite infamous, because it's been claimed as MTL based on the fact. In which while I can definitely see the reason because the translator working on it very fast and yet the VN has very big number of lines, the one who think that it's MTL didn't have strong proof to prove their claim either, so basically there's no way to prove the claims from both sides. It didn't help that the team still working on it until now with them currently already finished with the main story, and they're still not release the patch (ie translation example). Anyway Senmomo here is the last August big VN in a while, in that it has a premise of another world with the current situation is that the old empire was ruined by a rebellion, and our MC here is the knight who accompanied the last heiress of the empire to reclaim her throne. Speaking of MTL, we also have ReLief which is released by Hikari Field in Chinese language and that it has English translation patch, although said patch is MTL-ed so perhaps one should be cautious if they're curious about this, and by the way the translator did confess on it so it's easier to determine the translation as MTL. It's interesting to note that it won the best story in 2016 Getchu Awards, although from what I see above some may want to say otherwise. At least I can say for sure that it has good opening song and the graphic. I definitely didn't have best impression on Wagahigh at the first glance, moreso because the heroines design has big breasts (In which it's the carryover from Yakimochi Stream). However after I tried it, turned out that I can see that it's far from the first impression in that I'm convinced that Wagahigh would be the nukige with big breast heroines lol. It definitely the successful product from Madosoft here, at least if we can see it on how it has FD. Sekai did license another two Madosoft VNs, although too bad that those are only available in Chinese language (So no English version yet), in which I can't exactly like what they did despite being the better tactic if we think from the business perspective. Too bad that JAST probably still stuck with Tokyo Necro engine work, so obviously 2022 release plan here is bust. The likely delay for English release aside, Tokyo Necro here basically has two MC with one of those are female MC who has same sex tendency (So there'll be some GL story), and obviously both MCs will fight against zombie a lot. By the way I kind of like the MCs arrangement here, and I think it would be nice to have lesbian female as the best friend character for male MC (Like Tokyo Necro here) instead of usual horny handsome male best friend lol. The first chorus of Floral Flowlove (FF) opening 'You can be protected if you' definitely can be a good choice for vaccination ad lol. The dry joke aside, FF here is the first Saga Planet under their name instead of still under Visual Arts, although they still use the Siglus engine in FF with Siglus is under Visual Arts, so we should expect some porting work on the English version by Nekonyan. FF itself is tell us the story about on a MC who somehow can see the wings on each person, and that he's surrounded by four heroines who each of them are figuratively called angel. Oh yes Ouro did reference this in Kirikoi, in that he describe FF as 'It's about a guy who can see angel and devil wings, and he becomes entangled in political intrigue with a royal family. Add in his service to the church, him doing some serious soul-searching -- and it's teeming with titties'. Harukaze did attempt to bring Norakeno overseas, although too bad that they took Pulltop page so that we got the one that hadn't sex scene. Granted that they already reformed into all age company by then, but it's still too bad. There are some fans who attempted to restore the sex scenes along with obviously translated it, although so far the effort on it is not as intense as either Konosora or Aojashin. At least nowadays you can see the sex scenes in Noraneko, although only some of the scenes are translated. Akeiro here is sort of the sequel for Nanairo, and the writer Kazuki Fumi here did up the horror along with providing some mystery story. Also it was said to be the best Silky Plus mystery game, or so that's what I read somewhere. As for the one who will localize this, well who knows, although so far Sekai is still seems more likely for now (Of course though it also possible that someday we may see either Shiravune or Nekonyan took Akeiro's license here). For some reason Valve did randomly banned Amatsutsumi on Steam, although looking from on how the MC (Makoto) did have sex with more than one girl perhaps it's justified, especially if the reviewer are very averse about that. I mentioned about it despite that I somehow has no problem with that, because some reviews did mention that as one of the flaw, and seeing that Aoi Tori also has the same situation (With different reasons) I can only think that Nekonyan may have hard time to pass Steam review on Aoi Tori later. Amatsutsumi here is can be said has very good graphic, and despite of some bugs it can be said as one of Sekai's best release in 2022. Sekai also did license Senren Banka in the past, although they failed to have translation work on it until Nekonyan took over the license 17 months after the announcement of it. While Senren Banka here didn't have something like Nene's route in that it basically has two big parts, Senren Banka here has each route contained bigger picture to the setting so perhaps it can be said that the staffs did do their best on creating the setting, although I may be wrong on this. Unlike Senren Banka that Sekai failed to release, Maitetsu here was successfully released by Sekai. As for the premise, well admittedly it's sort of questionable seeing that we have trains turned into loli character on top that we can have sex with them. Seeing that there's a lot of uncomfortable stuff, it's understandable on how Lose deiced to censor the panties for overseas release, which of course attract some angry response so much there's a patch to restore it. Setting the controversies aside (Either in regard of the loli or the censorship), Maitetsu here has very big production value with each heroines (Side or main) can have several outfits, and that it has a lot of sprites. It also should mentioned that Lose made Last Run with even bigger production value before closed their business in October 2022, so at least they're ended with a bang. Shiravune just recently released Otome Domain, and I've been waiting for this seeing that it's a trap VN with female heroines, in which it's something that we still rarely have besides Otoboku and Heart de Roomate. While we only have Bokukotsu cameo in the trial, at least the spirit is still in the full game, especially with the ojousama being useless. Speaking of Bokukotsu, I feel that the title 'ideal bride' that Ren got would be more fitting for Otome Domain MC Minato here, because our Minato here is looks like a girl so much that he won the best character award (That usually only heroines who have won that award), and not to mention that Minato here basically has the same role as Ren (Only to him being cute instead of handsome). In 2020 we have Tsurezure did translate Ginharu, although after the translator Trip translate three routes and about to translate the fourth route he decided to drop it because of the burnout. So of course we didn't have the hope to see it translated, at least until now in which a new translation group Daybreak manage to fully translate the rest of the untranslated routes, and today we have the patch that contained four rotes translated was released. Ginharu here is carrying the same formula from Hoshiori, but instead this time tone work's did write the story all the way up to junior high, which technically mean that all of the heroines are the MC's childhood friends lol (Although Mizuha here is the blatant example of usual childhood friend). Of course though it emphasize the most obvious flaw, in that it's the very lengthy playthrough. That's all for my very belated comment on Getchu Awards 2016, and yeah times do wonder to have more than half of top 20 are either translated or licensed. -
Anime of the Year 1998-IV Fall - Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Anime of the Season
Devilman Lady - It's very clear that the author (Or maybe the executive) took the idea on how American like to have gender bender of the popular superhero (ie Supergirl, She-hulk, Batgirl), so of course they decided to make Devilman Lady. No much that I can say other than Devilman Lady is obviously the Distaff Counterpart of Devilman. His and Her Circumstances/Karekano- I see this anime on the list that contain 10 anime that has disappointing ending in a magazine, and after I browse the TV Trope page of it I can say that Anno like to struck with trouble when making the anime in 1990's. Said trouble caused the anime second half to be like what it is, and after this anime Anno didn't work with TVTokyo anymore. Anyway the problem with the anime aside, Karekano here definitely has some dark storyline (Which ironically Anno want the anime of this to be has more comedy), especially if one read the manga of it. That's all for what I can comment in regard of Autumn 1998 anime. -
Tsurezure's New Project - Gin'iro Haruka
littleshogun replied to littleshogun's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
As promised we have Mizuha's patch released, and you can download it from the usual Download page on Daybreak Translations website. Anyway while this is not the final patch (Which now is called Yuzuki's patch) yet, you can play this if you already waiting for Mizuha's route available in English (Especially after Trip dropped Ginharu in 2021) and have fun. Oh yes in regard of Yuzuki's patch, the editor already mentioned that they probably will release the patch sometimes around March or April in Reddit, although it's still not the definite time for now seeing that they still need to take cares a lot of things (The stuffs like editing the route and ironing out the bugs) before finally have the patch ready for the release. Well at least it's still in the first half of 2023 here, so the wait shouldn't be too long (Hopefully). -

Anime of the Year 1998-III Summer - Serial Experiments Lain
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Anime of the Season
Lain is definitely ahead of time when it talk about on the culture of the internet, in which it's what we experienced in these recent years. Apparently the director want to make it very bad for American viewer so that they can discuss about culture difference between them and Japanese, although turned out he's failed because turned out that American people also appreciate Lain from the same way as Japanese did. That said, I only know about this from TV Trope and that it wasn't broadcasted in Indonesia, so I don't know much about it. If anything else, at least it inspired Code Lyoko (French animation series) with both Lain and Lyoko deal with the internet stuffs. That's all for what I can comment on Summer 1998 anime here, and yes I can only comment on Lain. -
MangaGamer announces two new titles at AnimeNYC
littleshogun replied to HataVNI's topic in Visual Novel Talk
As for Mangagamer choosing Eve of December (It's easier to call by that instead of Eve of the 12th Month lol), I believe that they may want to test the water first before licensing the other minori VNs, although it help that Eve of December here is released before Soreyori. So perhaps we may have another minori VNs like Soreyori in the future, but for now who knows. Anyway for Eve of December itself, from what I see in the reviews I believe that it's what minori wanted to do with Supipara (With the MC have romance with the other heroines before moving on to the main heroine in single timeline) before finally stopped thanks to a lack of funding. It also help that minori here reduced the number of the heroines from five to three, so at least it should be easier to their funds. Other than that, it also has some twist which may or may not disturbing to you, and I should mention that it's more in regard of morality than the stuffs like in Maggot Bait or euphoria (Just in case someone expect guro scene in minori VNs lol). Oh yes, I did say that I hope to see more of Nightmare series thanks to the sexy costumes that the female characters wore lol, and well I get what I want. That said, poor Setsuna in that she become the victim after in the prequel she become the MC, although it's kind of necessary in order to give the spotlight to the new MC here, in which it's obviously another female MC (Kuon) who is an onmyoji who tasked to exterminate demons (What else?), and obviously Kuon here will be caught up to be raped later on. Honestly speaking I have no much to talk on those two other than what I wrote above (And that both announcements are interesting on their own), so that's all for my belated comment on Mangagamer NYC announcements. -
If we want to based the good fan hype content, then Ace Attorney here is more than qualify, especially with a number of fangame out there with the one that I did the research about is Turnabout Substitution (Apollo Justice fangame), although now that I remember there's also the infamous Phoenix Drive (Note that it's a nukige with MTL available). There's also Kanon as well, although obviously the fan games are in Japanese. Lastly there's also When They Cry series (ie Higurashi and Umineko) with both have a lot of fangame according to VNDB. By the way it should be noted some fangames are nukige, so beware of that if you want to try those. PS - Oh yes I did forget to mention the obvious example Fate/Stay Night, in which it has a lot of fangame with the most notable one is Fate/Empire of Dirt that has MTL patch released in 2021.

discussion Project: Eden's Garden - Who's hyped?
littleshogun replied to fuyopon's topic in Visual Novel Talk
From what I see, RAINCODE here has different premise compared to Danganronpa in that we only have one detective accompanied by a shinigami, while Danganronpa here has the premise where 15 Ultimate Students are forced to do the killing game. So yeah it's pretty clear that Kodaka won't develop the game that has the same premise as Danganronpa, in which it's exactly what I want to say. Of course though I only say 'apparently', which mean I'm not 100% certain about it. I based my comment on how V3 particular's twist, in which while one can argue that Kodaka want to put a twist on it, the message that V3 casts convey are more or less pretty clear even if it isn't directed towards us. PS - While I mentioned that Kodaka won't develop the game that has the same premise as Danganronpa, of course he can prove otherwise in RAINCODE later. By the way the art here should be a giveaway that it's from the same staffs as Danganronpa.- 6 replies

Getchu Bishoujo Game Awards 2015 are out
littleshogun replied to ChaosRaven's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I'm bored, so may as well do some resurrection work on the Getchu threads here (Sorry about that) in which times do wonder to make us see on how the situation are changing when it come to the title at that time, especially with on how half of top 20 here got the translation. So here's my comment on Getchu Awards 2015 below. I know about Bishoujo Mangekyou 3 here, which admittedly it has some nice sci-fi setting in the future. Although the thing that I know is more in regard of a fan, or rather a rabid fan who always claim that it's a kamige with him ran a very dubious translation project. For the less rabid fans who have serious chance to work on this, well maybe Daybreak or Arcadeotic here are the most probable candidates but no chance for now, so obviously the only option is to learn Japanese or use the available MTL patch if one desperate enough to read this. Bokukotsu here is about Ren who tasked to take care five useless demons (Including his childhood friend and his little sister), and on his task he'll get many sexual experiences. It definitely has good graphic thanks to Sayori's drawing, so at least it's worth to read if you need a nukige that can give you visual excitement. While the title is exactly like the VN's premise, I would say that using 'boku' is wrong because Ren use 'ore' to refer himself. It's too bad that Hanasaki project here was stopped by Saga Planet when the progress did well enough, and moreso it's dubious enough because apparently the translator got the C&D notice from the 3rd party. Nowadays, I'm not that desperate for Hanasaki here anyway, especially since we already have Nekonyan licensed several Saga Planet VNs. That said, licensing Hanasaki might be impossible seeing that the license for Hanasaki engine is still owned by Visual Arts, which is quite a big company (For the info, Saga Planet just own the license starting from Floral Flowlove (One of Nekonyan's license)). Then again, seeing that Nekonyan manage to secure Shinsou Noise (Owned by DMM) after a hard battle, perhaps someday we may see Nekonyan license this. Speaking of stopped project, Pure x Connect is one after the translator deliver the patch for the prologue only. Currently apparently the translator has been translating Arisa's route, although it's hard to see seeing that the last update is from way back on July 2021. Of course though the translator can still continue this if they want, although as for now may as well treat it as stopped project. Oh yes as for Pure x Connect itself, the most obvious thing is that it has comedy like the other Smee VNs. There's a minor controversy in regard of Hatsumira with the translator chose to translate the MC using some British slang, which obviously contrasting the setting with the MC himself is Japanese soldier in World War 2. While the premise here is like usual isekai, Hatsumira here has the MC not having usual superpower so at least it's sort of refreshing if you're tired of reading that kind of work. Also good for Frontwing that they finally translated this in that we finally have another (Still rare) isekai VN available in English. I saw a screenshot in Maggot Bait with the poster mention that it's like Dies Irae, and considering that the writer did write Silverio (From the same company as Dies Irae) he obviously right on it. That said just because it's been written by the Silverio writer and that it has good story which Mangagamer CEO Kouryuu talked in his three videos (What Makes Us Human, Eros vs. Agape, Pure Love Story), it didn't mean that I can easily recommend this seeing that it from Clock Up and has several disturbing contents. By disturbing I mean several messed up sex scenes on top a whole lot of things, which to say quite a ton so much that Mangagamer did compile the contents in this blogpost. If anything else, the opening song here is really good with Clock Up hired overseas band to sang it. Sakura no Uta here is definitely the most well received VN on 2015, although some did complain on how the characters just like to be horny or mentioning masturbation, or to be more seriously said on how several other parts are not quite polished. Anyway SCA-DI did mention the possibility to translate this, although so far none of it came of until now. If you're desperate for Sakura no Uta, well you can learn Spanish because it has full Spanish translation. There's also H2O translation project happen with the translator did work at good pace, and I mention H2O because one of the route is the prototype for Sakura no Uta, so at least you can get Sakura no Uta later in much smaller scale. It also has the sequel planned, and it was delayed again (Probably because of the tons of work). Sanoba Witch premise is that the love that has started from masturbation, which make sense. For the reminder, the story is started from Shuuji saw Nene masturbate with the table, and the cause is that Nene was too horny because of the side effect of the witch contract. Which, again I would say that it's more like magical girl contract, with Yuzusoft clearly aware so much that Yuzusoft create the transformation scene coupled with the Alps (ie mentor mascot) and witch costume (ie magical girl costume). Sanoba here is available in English thanks to Nekonyan's work, and it's also the first Yuzusoft VN that officially available in English, which causing several more Yuzusoft VNs being licensed up to Cafe Stella (And possibly their newest work Tenshi Re-Boot). I mentioned that Primal Hearts 2 (Translated by Shiravune) is the improvement compared to the first one, which is easy to see from how Marmalade did add Sprite Viewer and a side route, and more importantly in regard of the two main heroines setting (Alicetia and Usagi). Other than that, to be frank the premise is still the same as the first one. By the way in regard of Michi aka Bitch who didn't got the route (That some fans disappointed about it), I think it might be related to the contract in that her VA may have the deal to not doing the sex scene. Rance 03 here definitely has stepped up compared to the previous two prequels, in that Rance will fight against an army who invade his acquaintance who happen to a be a princess who rule a nation. Mangagamer announced 03, although we don't know when it'll be released. For Evenicle, while generally people agree that the first is better than the second, I felt that Evenicle 2 beginning is better than the first one. That said, while the first has quite dubious beginning, it definitely easier than the second game with you can easily break the game by using items in the middle of battle with second did remove the ability to do so. Oh yes while we have the sequel, the first here is complete enough on it's own. 3rd eye here really focused on the graphic with both of Sorcery Jokers and Raillore, especially with Raillore has HDD size 13.5 GB. Anyway in Sorcery Jokers we have both MC, with one of the MC is a cool criminal while the other one is 9th grade student with 10 years old mindset (His catchphrase is 'Not playing fair'). Both MCs are living in the magic city, and both will eventually deal with the suspicious things that happened beneath the city. After several years of waiting, we finally have Morning Mist released, and with that now we have the trilogy completed in which it need almost five years to see it happen thanks to the very buggy engine of the trilogy itself. I don't have much to say here other than it has some nice graphic along with Unisonshift Blossom finally make a linear storyline after they tried it in Flyable Hearts, and the linear storyline approach here is obviously the better approach when making a trilogy compared to what we have in Grisaia. Miagete here is definitely a nice release, in which it has good graphic and good story about friendship that has been ongoing since the childhood. It also help that Shimotsuki Haruka song here is very good, and that it has nice soundtrack. Unfortunately though it's been translated by Pulltop themselves, which obviously mean that the sex scenes will be removed with those scenes consist around 16-17% of the game script. Also unlike Konosora in which it finally has proper uncensor patch, so far there's still no proper uncensor patch for Miagete. Snow Ryujin currently working on the uncensor patch, although right now they're quite busy with the other stuff (ie Planetarian Snow Globe). That's all for my (Very) belated comment on Getchu Awards 2015 here, and yeah once again times do wonder here. -
discussion Project: Eden's Garden - Who's hyped?
littleshogun replied to fuyopon's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Well to be frank I'm not quite hyped here, although now that I see it turned out that it's Daganronpa fangame, which coincidentally enough has the same situation as Phoenix Wright (With both have trial based gameplay to boot). I can only say that it should be good for Danganronpa fans who want more of it, especially since the original Danganronpa creator Kodaka apparently had enough of it. Good luck to the developer to develop more of the chapters there, especially after I know that there's a lot of pain in order to deliver the prologue alone here.- 6 replies

Boku to Koi Suru Ponkotsu Ojousama Review
littleshogun posted a blog entry in Pretty Cure on Fuwanovel
Visual Novel Translation Status (25/12/2022) Because we have Otome Domain release and that we have Bokukotsu cameo in the trial, I decided to parody the latter by changing the word 'Akuma' in the full title (Boku to Koi Suru Ponkotsu Akuma) into 'Ojousama', so we have 'Boku to Koi Suru Ponkotsu Ojousama' (Because we have ojousama heroines in Otome Domain) in which it might be work as another title for Otome Domain, seeing that the heroines are more or less pretty useless with the MC is the only one who is the most capable among the cast. Anyway this week highlight is obviously Otome Domain release by Shiravune, which I've been waiting for this for an admittedly personal reasons. Other than that, we also finally have the update from Sekai, and more importantly the annoucement of the exact release date for Mizuha's patch of Ginharu. Overall this week here is slightly above average, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. For Sekai's update, once again I can summarize it by it's just too bad that it still didn't have the updates from both of Madosoft VNs (Hamidashi and Raspberry Cube). That said, if anything else, at least they still have Sheol update if we talk about the update for their AX project, with the current progress is at three quarter translated along with a quarter edited. Other than Sheol, we also have Chiisana Kanojo is at 30% translated along with 10% edited, Akaneiro is at 40% translated, and Zutto Mae Kara Joshi Deshita was fully translated. We also finally have the update for Usonatsu, and currently it's been at 40% translated along with 30% edited. Lastly, we have Kanojo no Seiiki is at 80% in QA, which mean we finally get the build of it. For fan translation, obviously the most prominent update is in regard of the plan to release Mizuha's patch of Ginharu on 26th later (ie two days later) with all of the processes on her route are already done, so let's see if we can see the release from Daybreak on that date later. For the other updates, we have Shin Koihime Musou is at 62% edited, Chronos is at 85% translated, 43 out of 138 script files for Umi kara Kuru Mono are translated, and H2O is at 72.6% translated with Yui's route is at 88.9% translated. Almost forget to mention that Todokanai already translated the 4th bonus drama CDs from White Album 2 Mini-After Story, and with it now we only have two untranslated bonus drama CDs. Last but not the least is Otome Domain release in which it's released by Shiravune yesterday. Personally speaking while I knew that the premise of it is kind of cliche, actually I like to see more of it being translated, simply because it's nice to see the VN with have trap MC and the female heroines. For the premise we have our Minato who lost all of his family after his grandmother dead, so naturally he's all alone. After taking care of the funeral, an ojousama, Kazari, come to offer the help, and said offer is to have Kazari take care of Minato as the way to repaid the late grandmother's kindness to Kazari. Of course it including the offer to attend the school that Kazari herself is the board director of, although the school itself is obviously all girl school so Minato must dressed up as girl in which it really fit him much to his dismay. After coming into the school, turned out that Minato need to deal with the other problems besides him being forced to cross-dress, because all of Minato's friend (Including Kazari) are kind of useless, so it's up to Minato to take care of them like Ren in Bokukotsu. Go get Otome Domain if you've been looking forward to it, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and merry Christmas. See you next week. -
I feel indifferent towards the new Fate translation, but I at least it give the reader more choice in regard of the translation (Yay for democracy). EXTRA2 here is admittedly a nice release, although in the end it's just a fandisc while personally I prefer main game release. Lastly, now that Daybreak announced they'll release the partial patch for Ginharu (Mizuha's patch) on 26th later, I'll look forward to it. Overall this week is just below average like I said beforehand, especially with Mangagamer's release (I expected them to release Rance IX in December, but turned out that I was asked too much).

Anime of the Year 1998-II Spring - Cowboy Bebop
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Anime of the Season
I don't know Cowboy Bebop much other than I watch an episode on Animax and then forget about it, but apparently it's more well known in the Western if TV Trope keep listing it in several tropes is any indication. For Silent Mobius, it's the same as Cowboy Bebop but at least I sort of remember the opening vaguely. Fancy Lala here is the last attempt of Pierrot to revive their 1980's magical girl series and failed, and I only glanced it at Saturday morning on Animax only to promptly drop it because it hasn't Indonesian sub. Yu-Gi-Oh - I can say that the card game in 1998 anime is as confusing as modern day card game, although it's not because on the player need to memorized a lot of combo and the strategy that each archetype have (Or which deck that would be good for competitive duel), but because the ruling is so different compared to what we have nowadays. Anyway to save your time, I may as well tell you to just skip future Yu-Gi-Oh anime seeing that all of those are have more than a hundred episodes and most of the time it focused on the filler card game, with the latest finished Yu-Gi-Oh (SEVEN) has the least number of episodes, at 92 episodes. Oh yes 1998 anime here still has some non card game focus, although it change as soon as the card game become very popular, in which it happen thanks to the late author did Magic reference only to have that reference to be very popular. Cardcaptor Sakura - There's a lot to talk about this one, with one of those is on how the Nelvana dub version screwed this a lot. I can say that Sakura here is the lightest CLAMP work (And the most popular), although it didn't mean that they can't be daring, in which they wrote a love story that make so-called most forbidden love in Damekoi look tame (Understandably the TV version cut that story). Anyway Sakura here is the magical girl series, although unlike usual series Sakura here didn't have magical girl costume, but instead the costumes was provided by her best friend/fans/second cousin Tomoyo. While there are some story happening in here, ultimately the series is an episodic one with Sakura need to deal with the trouble in the neighborhood by using her ability to invoke the magic through the cards. Also since there's no K-ON in 1998, understandably they go with the cutest girl at that time in which it's obviously Sakura. Oh yes, I like the third opening here courtesy of Sakamoto Maaya as the singer. That's all for my comment on Spring 1998 anime, and it's funny that two anime that I talked about a lot here are about card lol. -
NVL VS. ADV – An Anatomy of Visual Novels
littleshogun commented on Pallas_Raven's blog entry in Towards The End Sky
ADV here is obviously the more prominent format, seeing that it allow the player to see the visual in which it's obviously the main selling point of the VN (Duh), so I never consider it as the way to allow faster narrative. Anyway, obviously ADV here would allow the people to enjoy the visual, so the drawings should be good if one want to use ADV. Of course seeing that nukige here is specialized in the visual excitement, almost if not all nukige would use ADV, although maybe one can use NVL format if they want to describe on what's going inside the people mind when they have sex. By the way I don't know which nukige that had NVL format here, so I may be wrong on this. NVL will obstruct the visual, so obviously the art is put in the second after the narrative, with the main example is When They Cry in which it seems Ryukishi realized that as well if Rose Guns Days is any indication (He decided to use ADV there and he decided to hire several other artists with better drawing to drew several characters). That said, just because the format is NVL didn't mean that it can't have good visual, as Mahoyo (And obviously Fate) shown us, although evidently Nasu here put more focus on the narrative if his 400 pages of proto-Mahoyo here is any indication. Well if I want to summarize it, it's kind of funny that ADV and NVL here is basically put the emphasize on the two words of 'Visual Novel' itself, with ADV put more focus on the 'Visual' part and NVL put more focus on the 'Novel' part. Whichever is the best, well it's up to each person, although looking from how ~19,000 VNs are using VNDB easy to say people prefer to put the focus on the visual (Which to be fair is easier to promote compared to the narration). -
Yes it happen, and here the link to the tweet in regard of it. While you can get it on Steam, it would be better to get it from Johren if possible or use the 18+ patch if you still get it from Steam, because Steam version has several issue, with the major one is they removed Kazari's route in Steam version. I have no idea on why Shiravune need to cut her route, or why Valve seems didn't like her route seeing that they've been okay with principal heroine in Majokoi. That issue aside, I've been waiting to see the VN like this so good for Shiravune. PS - It's been a while since I did list the characters along with their VAs, so let me try to do it now. 1. Asuka Minato After Minato's grandmother passed away, Minato was suffer a big loss. Fortunately Kazari who is raised by Minato's grandmother was willing to take Minato under Kazari's care, so Minato come into Kazari's school where she act as the principal with said school is only for the upper class girl. While there's a lot of complication happen, it didn't matter for Minato who already got a lot of skills that the grandmother taught, so much that Minato can do the chores easier than the girls around Minato (Which to be fair is not that hard for Minato seeing that the girls are quite ditzy). Minato's VA is Ayumi Sarah, and her roles are Anneliese from Kimagure Temptation, Ayasaki Yuu from Bokukotsu, Yuragi from Evenicle 2, and Kousaka Mayuri from Flowers tetralogy. Oh yes in case you're noticed that I didn't use the pronoun for Minato, it's because I'd try to hide the gender, and yes Minato here is our male MC for Otome Domain in which he's very cute like female. 2. Saionji Kazari She was under the care of Minato's grandmother, and when Minato lost his grandmother Kazari decided to take care of him, including allowed him to attend Kazari's school with him must dressed up as a girl (Which is very easy to do, much to his dismay). While Kazari here is the school principal, unfortunately it didn't stop her for being ditzy, especially with her spent more effort to use bottle when she wants to pee instead of using the less bothersome (And more rational) option by going to the toilet. Kazari's VA is Anzu Hana, and her roles are Kawamura Reo from Sono Hanabira franchise, Noa from Sorcery Jokers, Ese Ren from Ne no Kami (Replacing the late Mochi Yomogi), and Konohana Yuka from Hokejo. 3. Oogaki Hinata Out of all the heroines, she came off as the most normal one. Although it's less because she has no quirk and more because her quirk is merely being a chuunibyou, with her acting as the cadre of a vague evil organization. Her background is that her family was suddenly getting rich so much that she's able to attend Kazari's school, although Hinata here is too busy caught up in her fantasy so much that she didn't have time to be smug about her fortune. Hinata's VA is Himekawa Airi, with her roles are Gurigura from Evenicle, Nanase Momoka from Imouto Paradise 2, Cook from Eiyuu Senki, and Kuranaga Kozue from Yosuga no Sora. 4. Kifune Yuzu While it seems that she's quite normal, don't be fooled because I did say that Hinata here is the most normal. As for her quirk, she has very different standard when it come to cooking compared to the other people. By different I mean that she cook the food to be as inedible as possible, and thus nobody want her to be in the kitchen (Especially after both Kazari and Hinata felt sick after caught the smell of Yuzu's 'cooking'). Other than being terrible at cooking, Yuzu here is also very bad at tidying her room. Yuzu's VA is Ueda Akane with her roles are Magellan from Eiyuu Senki, Nogi Tamie from Princess Evangile (Coincidentally both Yuzu and Tamie are the member of School Newspaper Club), Nanase Chiharu from Imouto Paradise 2, and Arisugawa Arle from Bokukotsu.

Interestingly, according to one of the review Hamaji's route here can be said as the prototype of Sakura no Uta, so we can say that the translator will translate Sakura no Uta from a certain point of view. Although as for whether he'll take on the actual Sakura no Uta or not, well nobody know (Moreso if we know that it'll be very tasking task thanks to it having a very big number of lines).

Is there a Western Visual Novel with a Black Protagonist ?
littleshogun replied to JohnBlanke4TWin's topic in Recommendations
For the info the OP has a lot of problem that caused by his own complex. That said, even with taking account to the complex, what the OP wish here is simply very demanding, considering that the VN scene in Western is still not as much as in Japan yet, and those kinds of VN is basically need a lot of resources along with time to produce. So yeah, it would be better to not put too much stress on representative and self insert, but instead it would be better to just enjoy the VN as it is. Then again, if the OP able to do that, I doubt that he would post his demand request here. -
Mahou Tsukai no Yoru PC patch for PC Master Race
littleshogun replied to Nemesis's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I thought that it's already have the translation as well, only to be turned out that it still hasn't. Honestly speaking I don't exactly know on how to port the translation, although looking from the engine (Kirikiri), it should be not much hard because a lot of VN use it. Then again, compiling all of the translated text in Switch version is a pain on it's own. Oh well, I suppose it's still not the time to see translated Mahoyo in PC yet, but at least now we have the voice in which it's a big step on it's own. Lastly, here's hoping that someday we may have Mahoyo on Steam. PS - Some did comment on what's the point if there's no HD version of Mahoyo in PC, although to me as long as the graphic is not on Ryukishi Umineko or Higurashi level (And non-HD Mahoyo definitely still okay) than I'm fine with it. -
Nekonyan Announcements on AWA 2022
littleshogun replied to littleshogun's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Koichoco here is technically still has relatively high production value despite being 12 years old VN, so technically speaking this is the most interesting license in AWA, had it not been available in English from back in 2015. So even with on how sprite was supposed to be revived thanks to Nekonyan localize Aokana and thus it's reasonable to have Nekonyan license another sprite VN, I can see if people are sort of disappointed the license, and to be very frank that it still has mosaic is the least thing I care about. Baka Moe Heart, err... well I suppose my comment is still the same on how it seems to be quite a bakage. While our mod Clephas praised it (Admittedly for on how well the VN did what it's intended into), unfortunately Erogamescape users seems to favored less comedy VN. While I understand that some of the license from WillPlus can be quite costly, there's a lot of better title to chose from there (Beside Pulltop's title obviously). In the end, I can only say that I guess at least the graphic is quite good along with on how the artist took the effort to make the uniform for each heroine different. Of course though, my opinion on this may be change later just like Wagahigh (I initially thought that it's just high breast nukige and turned out it's a nice charage), so let's wait and see here. From the reviews that I read about Shinsou Noise, it has some infamy in regard of the ending or something, so perhaps just turned down the expectation may be help. I specifically mention this because I see a number of people complained about Hello Lady twist, and of course they didn't read the spoiler (Duh). The artist of this is also the one who drew euphoria, so at least you can play it for her art if you like it and yet didn't want to play euphoria (Or several other nukige that she design). That said, while there won't be some disturbing sex scene, it should be noted that Shinsou Noise here could be the most dark VN that Nekonyan licensed. Oh yes it also have VA's commentary and the translator already confirm that he'll translate it, which is good seeing that the translator rarely translate that feature. Lastly, even though I can see on how people will have problem with the ending, I still look forward to Shinsou Noise release here. That's all for my belated additional comment on Nekonyan AWA 2022 here. -
vn release Nekonyan releases Ao no Kanata Four Rhythm EXTRA2 on Steam
littleshogun replied to HataVNI's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I know that EXTRA2 here has good production value with longer scenario compared to EXTRA1 and nice opening song, but in the end it's just the fandisc with I personally prefer to see more main game release. That's also the reason why I didn't much interested with Golden Time despite that it bring what Kirikoi fans wanted, and of course has similarly good production value like EXTRA2. Anyway no much to say other than EXTRA2 should be good addition if one want more Misaki and Flying Circus on top also addressed a plot point that has been teased since the main game, and have fun. -
Well I mean at least Eiyuu Senki has good gameplay and Newton has (Surprisingly) good drama along with science talk, so it's not like the developer can't make good game even with trend 'making various famous historical figures into waifus' premise that Adamstan mentioned (Which now that I think of it I guess we should thank Fate franchise for that). As for this, well they should translate it as 'France's future empress' instead of emperor for Napoleon introduction. Also wow the artist surely known how to draw cute girls lol. Seriously speaking, I don't know what to expect from this other than we may get a moege with some politic (And history) talk for the spices, although the author may surprisingly able to write interesting story here even though I won't count on it for now.
