What are you reading? Untranslated edition
Dergonu replied to Funnerific's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I have been reading Tokage no Shippo Kiri recently, but after doing most of Kanau's route, I had to take a break. I'm really enjoying the game, but since the last 3-4 games I played were all psychological guro titles, this is really wearing me down. There is something about the MC that is just messing with my head atm, lol. Will get around to finishing it later on though. So far it has been very good. In the meantime I felt like I needed something lighter, and I have started reading Shuffle essence+, finally. I loved Shuffle back when I read it the first time, and always wanted a Kareha and Mayumi route. Now I get to play them, yay! The new heroines seem interesting too, though they have had little screentime in the part I have played so far. Went through the common route all over again, as the new version has a few new scenes, and I'm now just starting Mayumi's route. (My favorite character in Shuffle.) Can't wait to read more. (I haven't read much, and yet she has already broken the 4th wall like 3-4 times. So great ) -
Ahh, the art... so shiny... me want... My backlog is telling me to stop, but I can't. Have to add this (That length though... RIP.)

Goodbye man, best of luck with your future endeavours. (Had to save that Inori pic. So nice ) -
Thank you. Yes, she is indeed. It is メイド (the name is literally just "maid") from my new project.

If you end up losing a fight, you can try it again, and it asks if you want to lower the difficulty if you DO lose, so you can just keep trying tbh. But yes, unless you use a 100% save file and skip the battles, you have to win them in order to progress the story. I suggest just grabbing a 100% save file so you can skip all the fights. The story is really good, and the combat can be a bit of a pain at times, as it interrupts the story. (Though it doesn't happen very often, luckily.) Sorry for the late response, didn't see the comment until now.

It's いったい written in kanji, which means something like, "what in the world?!" いたい is pain, and is written 痛い. The only difference is the った and た in hiragana, so it can be a bit tricky telling the difference without kanji.
-
That would be 一体 when spelled like that. You'd want 痛い (いたい) no double consonant on the た. The rest works. Anyways, no, the TL is not out yet sadly. We are working on it, but I can't give an ETA yet. It will be done though, so you'll get it eventually!

Get your fake meido out of this thread!!! Only one meido can be the best meido, and that is this girl: (thank you <3 )
-
Is this a challenge?
-
Well, as it so happens, Nikuniku has all 3!

Soon™. Me and Hanako are equally powerful. Our yuri love levels are both over 9000. The best girl is メイド and you know it. My least favorite VN has to be Sakura Fantasy. The art was pretty, but it still made me want to scream out loud every second of the way (until I dropped it so hard. It was a tough 5 minutes.) The worst VNs are the ones that have no moe/yuri/guro! Learn how to spam post you scrub! I have not, but I really want to. Bought the game on release, but still haven't played it. The reason... I suck.
-
Me? Finish a TL? Pfft... (But yeah, it's coming soon enough, so prepare your balls. ) Your fanfic will be written, I promise you that. Soon™. I put effort into ... ahh, who am I kidding, nope. Hmm, today is Sunday, so... never? You're stuck with me forever. Yes, for sure. Unless the mods ban me for being too awesome. Love you too Eclipsed <3 I'm not going anywhere.

It seems like everyone does these when they reach some milestone, and I kind of missed the fact that I passed 2k posts (and 1k likes, yay). My last shitpost like this was when I reached 1k posts I think, so it's been a little while. Instead of mentioning half the forum and saying why I love everyone, let's do something different. (Well, it's not really different, as everyone does these, but I haven't done an AMA before so it's different for me at least.) I have basically been here bothering you guys for a year now, so now you can ask me anything you want, (like, "can you please leave?") or whatever. It has been a fun year, (and I somehow managed to pump out 2k posts in that time, phew.) Anyways, here is to another year of shitposting! Go ahead and ask me something below, serious or not, and I'll answer. Adorable pic from Tsui Yuri, cuz why not.

A kamige utsuge? Damn, guess it's time to board the feel train. Been trying to not add more titles to the backlog until it clears up a bit, but think I'll have to make an exception for this one. How would you say the reading difficulty in the game is?
-
Just waiting for Clephas or Cerulean to show up, so that I can feel truly scrubby upon seeing their total VNs played Favorite series: Sono Hanabira ni kuchizuke o Favorite VN: Kimi e okuru, sora no hana Best VN ever read: Kimi e okuru, sora no hana, G-senjou no Maou, Grisaia no Kajitsu (can't pick just one) Least favorite VN: Sakura Fantasy......... You are better off contacting Mangagamer for help. It's their game, and they have a support email for a reason. Generally this is the norm for licensed games. (The support on their site will be better than us anyways.) (It's also in the rules.) 2. Please don't ask for support for licensed Visual Novels, if you bought the game, you can get technical support from the retailer, if not, please look for support wherever you got it, we won't be offering support for licensed Visual Novels. -
@Kenshin_sama happy birthday!

^ Anyways, I prefer mosiacs. As for the reason, honestly I have no idea. I just like it more than some half assed drawing of a schlong I guess. On that note, I wish companies like Mangagamer would make a "restore mosiacs" option for uncensored games. That way everybody gets what they want.

Well okay then. -
Welcome to the forum, nice to meet you. Your work looks really cool and unique. Can't comment much more without actually playing it, but that's my first impression based of the videos, screenshots and what not. Might give it a try soon, as it looks very interesting.
-
This looks really cool! Might give ep. 1 a try. Best of luck on your future episodes/ other work.

Planetarian. Short and beautiful. Eden*. Also quite short, maybe a bit longer than Planetarian, also a very beautiful story. If you can read untranslated VNs and you're okay with yuri, I'd also recommend Kimihane Kanojo. It's short, simple but very good. The true ending really surprised me, and the other routes were very cute and enjoyable.
-
Yeah it went a bit overboard towards the end. Rakuen is my least favorite, mainly because of that. Oslo is indeed a creep. Didn't really care for him at all.

Indeed, if you are going to learn Japanese strictly for reading VNs, learn the kana + all the grammar inside out, and you are good to go. Text hookers, which will let you look up words/kanji you don't know, and let you read furigana, (small hiragana/katakana symbols displayed above the kanji, telling you how it's read,) will make it quite simple. For instance, let's say you know what なまえ (namae=name) means, but you don't recognize 名前, you can the read the furigana spelling and kind of skip the kanji. This is not a recommended method of learning Japanese, but if you literally just want to be able to get through unTLed VNS, then it should be enough for at least easy - medium VNs.
