Some of you asked why anime is dying. I can point towards formulas done ad nauseam, like harem, spokon etc. If you like harem, you can pick a handful of shows and eschew the rest with full confidence. Spokon, you pick one or two series from your favourite sport and you're done. There's very little innovation in today's anime, and this has been so for quite some time. Would you believe me if I said some tropes and concepts harken back to 30 years ago? Well, that requires quite some knowledge of the medium. Problem lies in design and writing. But it's a problem of Japanese media as a whole, seeing as most anime are adapted from light novels/manga/visual novels and there's so few original anime for TV. And that problem is that fresh ideas are hard to come by and besides, lots of people copy from you when you have one. The hope lies, and pretty much has always laid, on blockbuster anime, like Fullmetal Alchemist or Steins Gate, but those happen seldom.

What's this? Looks really neat. I like the blonde girl's annoyed expression. -
I'll have to give a whirl to Neptunia, I'm intending to get Hyperdevotion Noire, possibly an entry point to the franchise as bad as it gets... but I love Fire Emblem and SRPG. I still get some good enjoyment from this kind of game, and given that there isn't a lot of them in the market, probably I'll be satisfied. Let's see how the waifu factor plays. This damn game is the reason I'm getting an extra 4 gigs of RAM for my desktop (the other is Dragon Age Inquisition, but I'm not making any promises as to whether I'll finish it or not. It's damn boring).

Grinding? Bravely Default says "hi".

Not a good introductory opus to Psycho Pass, no.

Finding motivation for reading when you just cant seem to get to it?
Okarin replied to Nuka's topic in Visual Novel Talk
"Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free - you are a pirate!" What it reads. Just do what you feel like doing. I'm a route completionist and want to try every eroge in existence that appeals to me, but especially this last winter I was very fed up with it and with unemployment, so I took a long break. But I'll be back in earnest. Best thing under the sun is mixing work with eroge sessions, like in my olden days of "Period" and "Little Busters" (some 3 years ago). -
Also, should we call you Shining Finger instead? You type faster than me.

I'll make you starve for Dr People.

You lack mad scientist's genuine brain cells. So, in short, it's impossible Kurisu falls for you.

I disagree with LB, plus I think our good Kurisu has already played it (hence, he mentions Kurugaya). Riki isn't exactly a weakling in a Shinji Ikari way; he's just a frail, insecure kid made stronger by the course of his adventure. I think Riki is at least 2 years older than Shinji (14 vs. 16) so that also counts. How can they expect that a 14 year saves the world? About the onee-san heroine, I think that the character that created that trend (but may be mistaken) was Kitsune from Love HiNa. You can give it a go and recognise a lot of the different traits that have come to be trademark in Japanese romantic comedies. No VN to speak of, I think, but you've got the animu. And well, Keitaro is pretty useless as a protag too, in a cartoonish comedic way, only not in a tragic way (unlike Shinji-kun).

She's a real celebrity... of sorts: Rin Kagamine. https://vndb.org/v2505

I also would have preferred a less grandiose mystery and drama, instead, well-done character drama (that's REALLY hard to come by in visual novels), but apparently Key jumps the gun easily and can't help but to go overboard.

You were quite the philosopher kid.

I went for Lucia in the first place, and it made me stop playing the game for quite some time. I don't want to be too harsh but I didn't really like it in the end. But in truth, I did like some aspects of it, particularly the SoL (parfait wolfing and whatnot) and second the horror/mistery. I think there are just too many things packed in Lucia's route, and the result is a dire disharmony. Good thing is that it's really a sneak peek into Rewrite's true nature (I think every route is, but I've only finished Lucia's). And said nature isn't bad per se... but I, as an adult, would prefer it addressed in a more serious, realistic way. It's astonishing the level of seriousness Evangelion attained in 1995 and that in over 20 years nothing like that has been done.

If you wanna play rock (and lots of other music) guitar is a sensible decision. Me, I'd go for the keyboard before the piano, but that's only because I listen to awesome keyboard players.
-
I don't know, 3 months seems like a short period of time to learn from scratch, but you can probably manage the basics. Piano seems far more intimidating than guitar, otherwise they are completely different (looking from outside the business). I chose the easy way though -drums, but they have the disadvantage of being the most expensive instrument comparatively. I would love to learn guitar or bass, but keyboard can be fine too and maybe it's easier, I don't know. Again, I don't know about America (if that's where you are) but in Europe you can get basic guitars for some 100 euros. Not professional level maybe, but enough to scratch the itch of playing.

Play Yuka's route and then you're done
-
Getting through the game is an ordeal. In some 6 months I've hardly done one single route. Mind numbingly boring.

Man, God really wants you to write that novel. Consider it your sacred mission. Not surprisingly it's to mock communists.

Rance as a character can be quite awesome, but requires a certain mindset to enjoy. Of course, those games are all rad and for the lulz. It's the foil to the typical otaku who can't date women to save his life. But if you're normal, you may find Rance overboard. Compare with Knights of Xentar's protag, that was mocked even by prostitutes.

I recommend Flowers' first volume, but I don't know if you'll like it. Yuri happening at a peaceful school in the middle of the forest. It's just that searching for the one who stole some library books isn't mind blowing to me (don't be afraid, that's just one small part of the game).

No you can't!! Who would write the North Korea game then? Ganbatte ne! Watch this video about Hurricane Irene while it lasts!
