  1. Well, you have to take into account that in Spain most people don't understand more than really basic English. A nerd into geeky things like me could be an exception, but in the end, I speak decently because I started to learn the language at 6 (my parents made the effort to send me to private class). A lot of people navigate through English classes at secondary and high school with no real grasp of the language, and they manage to get the pass somehow. Even universities only ask for B2 level. It's not really a bilingual country, I don't know about Latin America (but I'd guess in some countries like Argentina people care more for English). So, translating from English is not stupid for people who don't understand Japanese and don't care to learn it. And like I said there's a strong need for videogames translated into Spanish, let alone VNs.
  2. Period is the quintessential high school VN with hopefully some development for the MC. Also Yume Miru Kusuri is set in a high school, but only one route of three focuses heavily on high school environment (and it's a bullying route, if you're interested). I just remembered about A Profile, but I didn't like it that much, very overboard, forced drama.
  3. Is that the new droid appearing in Star Wars' "Rogue One"? PS: I love the part about "reasonable adults". Reasonable indeed.
  4. I now have a gaming mouse, the Netway Virus. Fancy LED lighting that is useless, but really ergonomic and comfy.
  5. The most disgusting (and stupid) thing is that you get an actual romance after raping and abusing the girls for days. Like in real life, eh? Like, I know about Stockholm Syndrome but come on.
  6. Hmph, another dating sim with stats and whatnot. I got my full allotment with Shira Oka back in 2011 and yes, I played all 12+ routes. And the story didn't even make freaking sense.
  7. You can support VN industry by buying digital. And you also support translators, even though Western localisation companies might appear to you as shitty (that's another debate).
  8. (May have appeared on the thread already) "The only thing necessary for Evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." --Edmund Burke (I first knew of it from watching "Tears of the Sun")
  9. I'm playing the Steam demo now. Since it seems to be a hyped VN. Didn't realize it was a Yuri work. The quality seems high but I find it fairly boring, I don't know if it's because of the choice of section (they drop you in the middle of the game since it's a demo).
  10. Do you recommend Va11halla and in a few words, why should I buy it?
  11. About the translation, I don't remember, but I enjoyed the game in spite of it. So it can't be that bad. And I notice cringey grammar/spelling errors. About the games, Kira Kira and Deardrops, I fully recommend them. It's true that they talk constantly about music (especially in Deardrops, that's a great insight into a band's day-by-day), but music is a topic much more accessible than gliders. Almost everyone has some taste on music. The games focus on rock music (punk in the case of KK, alternative and edgy rock in case of DD -DD's protag learns to play the guitar by doing a Nirvana cover), so if that isn't your cup of tea, the experience won't be complete. Yes, rock music permeates these characters, but in the end they're just VN characters, although very well made. You'll find some perverted scenes (such as the topless scene in KK). Nothing to fear, it's everything you can enjoy in a VN but with good quality.
  12. It is. Just you wait. To say something bad about it, the decision making is a bit clunky and unlocking the true ending pretty much needs a guide (or helping people like you'd find on Fuwa).
  13. All I know are websites accessible by browser, like MangaFox or OneManga. The browser thing is clunky though, I wish I knew of an app optimized for reading. Even though I don't enjoy manga or any kind of comic that much. So much for my "Mortadelo y Filemón" ("Clever and Smart") days.
  14. Like our Kurisu nailed it: it's a game for sadists. Those will enjoy the scenes I think. If not, you're in for a lot of boredom, at the best of cases.

    Books!

Big sci-fi sagas... - Arthur C. Clarke -everyone knows about these. - The Ender saga (Ender's Game etc...) - Battletech novels, they cover different time frames, but the Clans are always cool, and Stackpole is a good writer as far as I'm concerned. - Chung-kuo, I think, but I know very little about it. For some reason sci-fi tends to come in one-shot novels.
  16. Only if you can't dissociate from what happens in the game. Like there are quite some people who can't (or aren't comfortable with) roleplay truly evil characters.
  17. About getting it in the first place, opinions are overrated, especially those of other people that aren't you. So do what you like. About the deal, it's not that good, but you save something. Also the fig seems magnificent.
  18. I guess, and do hope, that Walküre Romanze shall come West eventually.
  19. I take it you played Euphoria already?
  20. I was scolded once for this, Jun Maeda doesn't write the Little Busters routes themselves, he just provides the scenario and overall theme. You know... the same old since Kanon, with minimal variations. Oh, just remembered - Yume Miru Kusuri has a good soundtrack, too. But the feelz are not quite achieved, not like in Little Busters. LB is so long it can tire you out though.
  21. My train of thought goes like this: > Little Busters has awesome soundtrack > Music is justice Henceforth > You've gotta play Little Busters sooner or later. Also, the feelz. A copy of 999 for DS (also playable in 3DS due to retrocompatibility) is probably expensive now. If you have a decent Android device you can play it with emulators like DraStic. If you're willing to get Little Busters, you can also make the extra effort for 999. And the Funyarinpa is justice.
  22. Wasn't 12Riven going to happen, with an official release? Damn, I followed the Lemnisca translation for YEARS (since I got into Infinity Series, roughly 2013).
  23. Since some people already put here some favourites of mine, I'll put other songs, covering "Period" and "Kira*Kira", two not well-known novels. Like you see, Period's OST is mostly upbeat, but can also be romantic:
  24. No Man's Sakura (about tsunderes you can't date) Grim Sakura (about yanderes) Sakura Souls (open for speculation) Gears of Sakura Bravely Sakura Sakura Emblem Sakura Odyssey Tales of Sakura
