Aaeru, you and the others did. This was a loooong time ago when we first started. Remember this?: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8367/8475590082_79dbef5ff7_o.jpg ; ) You found the wallpaper from th. whatever show this was, and left that message. The only creative interpretation was Vax's and Steve's responses

Thanks. That means a lot : ). These walkthroughs take a huge chunk of time, so positive feedback is really great. Frankly, all three of the walkthroughs (in my humble opinion) look and work really well. I'm using Ryoji's Clannad walkthrough right now. Fantastic.

Ah... so it's Rewrite and Dark Souls that have kept you so busy, huh? Good to see you : ) -- some of us were worried Aaeru had sold you off to pay the bills..

Whoa, seriously, be careful zhurai. Mecha-Kitty's no laughing matter. Mecha-Kitty is a big deal. A big deal.

Fate/Stay Night The Holy Grail War. That hellish, great ritual that offers the ultimate prize for the one who claims it: a wish. There are two conditions to participate: one must be a magus (magic user), and one must be chosen by the Holy Grail to participate. There are seven chosen Masters, and seven classes of Servants. Only one master may seize the grail. This is the story of a boy who wanted to be a superhero. It's the story of three warring families. It's the story of an ultimate prize and ultimate sacrifice. What is the cutest image you have ever seen? (including girls ;))

Look at this guy, throwing around internet cash like it was nothing. We should ask HIM to pay Mecha-Kitty's bills... -
I have a sick fascination with reviews. That's all I can say

I'll second this. It's a heartstring-tugger. Fantastic show.

Girls und Panzer. What a thing. I started watching it on crunchyroll this weekend while being deliriously ill. I actually kinda like it. The character voices and "The Great Escape"-esque music are what fascinate me and bring me back. Does anybody know what the critics say about it? Any of you watching?

*Fake Pride Mode - Active* Not only have I made visual novels, I even posted one on Fuwanovel. Bam. Boom. Sheblam. *Fake Pride Mode - Inactive* (For the record, the one I posted was a one-man, 6-hour production... so not at all indicative of the other projects ). I love writing. Like the other comments here, I've written short stories, novels, poetry and essays for a long time. A big part of my medical school application, actually, is about a poem that won a recent contest and the lessons I learned starting a poetry group at my university. I'd imagine that the type of people who are drawn to visual novels (beyond mindless sex games) are creative people. That's probably one of my favorite parts of this forum: seeing art, music, stories, etc. created by each other. (Yes, Ryoji! Post it!) (but, you know, not too much, right? Don't want to risk voiding first publication rights)

Phew... I was worried that Aaeru sold Steve to pay for her...

Holy flip! Where'd we get the money to hire Mecha-Kitty?!?!?!?!!!

Not sure if "Theorycraft" implies what I'm going to say, but this was the original premise of FSN! It was only after producers questioned the appeal of a female protagonist that the roles were reversed, and we ended up with a female Saber. : ) PS: I'll be posting a walkthrough for FSN tonight. Any feedback is appreciated! PPS: And I'll be back to this topic. I freakin' love FSN.

Everyone, please give a round of applause to our resident Demon Lord. Good show.

Yeah, I think that's a great plan. Collaboration is often the best way to go about doing these things. When the walkthrough is all polished and pretty, it'll just need to be cleanly reposted and moved to the right forum.

Wow, impressive list! Glad to have you : ). Have a favorite among them?

So, this comes from experience: you're at the most dangerous point! You've learned a handful of Kanji, had some ups and downs, and now comes a "off-and-on" period. It's your life and your choice, but I'd say more than 95% of people will drop kanji if they do what you're thinking of doing. Here's what I'd suggest: if it's a busy time of life, scale back to something crazy small like 5 kanji a day + reviews. Whatever you do, don't stop learning them! Any breaks make it easier to not come back. Just a suggestion. Good luck : ) EDIT: Yeah, sorry, that post came out wrong. What I was trying to get across was that when life gets busy, Japanese is almost always the first thing that I, and others I've seen, let slip. If it gets to that point, scale back, and be sure to rely on all of us here in the forums. We've got your back, and will cheer you on. : )

Yeah... I had that vibe, too last night. If anybody wants to make a suggestion, I'm all ears. "Everything Else"?

Okay, that does it as far as moving stuff around goes. If anyone sees a topic (of their own, or otherwise) that they believe should be moved to a different location, please PM me! Thanks! Night! PS: Also, if one of the forums comes up as "Completely Unread", meaning all of the topics are coming up as unread, you can click the "Mark Forum as Read" link on the right-hand side of the forum page to clear your slate. (Just make sure to read through the last couple posts so you don't miss anything)

Most of the shuffling is now done. All that's left is moving topics between Anime/Mange and General discussion. I realize that this will disrupt previous links to posts. We're really sorry for this, but it's a necessary evil to upgrade to this newer, much cleaner forum organization!
-
Forum shuffling is now done. I'll be going through and moving topics to their new homes starting in 5 minutes.
-
** NOTE ** The forum organization will be changed to a new layout in 15 minutes. Please prepare for this change by not posting/replying until the change has been finalized. Besides forum reorganization, topics will also be moved around into the appropriate forums. We're sorry for any trouble this causes, and will post an update in this topic when work has been completed.

Welcome! Glad to have you, and good luck! What's about to come next isn't meant to dissuade you, or discourage you from the plan you've set forth. It is, however, advise that comes from learning Russian and now Kanji. The key to learning a language is steady, consistent effort. For me, it would have been VERY difficult to "absorb" huge quantities of a language during the weekends, with nothing in-between. On top of that, reviews for ~300 kanji take over an hour, and learning each set of 50 kanji takes ~30 minutes. There's also something to be said about "brain burnout", and the physiological limits of learning in a single 24-hour period. Here's my advise: try it out, but have a plan B. Just like with learning an instrument, it's easiest to eat an elephant one bite at a time, instead of all at once. It may seem like a few months is a heartache-long period to learn the kanji/kana, but it's not. Life goes fast. Taking 10-15 (25) (50?) a day will get you there a lot faster than you'd expect, and you're a lot less likely to get burned out. I learned the first half(ish) of RTK at a pace of 100/day, and the reviews really buried me. Like I said -- this is not meant to suffocate your enthusiasm : ). What it is is the accumulated knowledge of learning to fluency one language, and starting on another. Now that that's out, if you're really going to try and work according to the plan you've laid out, you'll need a ton of support. I'm here for you, the other people taking the challenge are, too (Ryoji's another great choice for support).

... and oh how that plot device blew me away...

Welcome to the forums, Luch! I'll join my voice with Ryoji's and say that any friend of Steve's is a friend of ours! Before I go any further, please hear my plea: Steve refuses to play Katawa Shoujo. He doesn't know what he's missing. Would you join with me and harp on him until he succumbs to the greatness that is KS? In any case... glad to have you : ). Have a favorite game? PS Oh, dear. Oh lol. Oh dear.
