  1. I would keep the format going, but then I would just be copy/pasting the first post, so I'll change it to fit my own rating: Muv Luv Alternative is a 6/10 game. It has great moments, yes, but overall it isn't all that impressive. IMHO it does not deserve very high a place in the hallmark of VN's.
  2. Come to think of it, I remember having another embarrassing experience back when I played Shuffle for the first time. At that point I had played visual novels, but Shuffle was the first one I played that had H-scenes, so I didn't really know how to prepare for them yet. I also didn't know that the ctrl button skipped through text quickly, so when I played Nerine's route and the H-scene came up, I just started clicking really fast and hoping that no one would notice it. Unfortunately this was when I was 13, didn't have my own laptop yet, and had to read my eroge in the living room with my family around. I'll never forget the sheer panic I felt when my little sister (who was probably 10-11 at the time) looked at the screen and asked what I was playing. Obviously I couldn't flat-out say that I as playing a game where a devil girl was giving my character a blowjob, so I had to say something about how "I didn't know the game had these kinds of scenes." I hope she doesn't remember that now...
  3. Frozen pepperoni pizza. Yum.
  4. The only two games I've ever dropped were Harukoi Otome and Hoshizora no Memoria, and both were because I found the characters to be dry, and the common routes to be way too long and boring. I've heard that Hoshimemo, at least, gets better later on, but I just didn't feel like it was worth subjecting myself to any more of the common route. Oh, I also couldn't get through Umineko. I know it's popular, but i don't like the writing style. At all. It had an interesting premise though, I'll give it that.
  5. My favorite is definitely the Kamikita Komari. Why? Well, obviously it's because she's the best Little Busters girl. That stand she's on isn't too bad either; it reminds me of the game's cover, as well as a certain scene in Refrain. What don't I like about it? nothing, besides the fact that I don't have one on my shelf. I really like the Komari Nendoroid that's available. I almost bought one for myself when I saw it at a Japanese bookstore a few months back, but sadly it was too expensive for me... And in case it wasn't already clear, I would totally buy the one you have. As for recommendations, i would have to go with this one, because you already have a bunch of Little Busters figures, so why not add a Rin to the mix? For my avatar, I would use this: And finally, my banner would be:
  6. There'seven some chocolate in there... Valentine's chocolate, maybe?
  7. Saekano is great so far- I thought it would be average at best, but it's one that I actively look forward to watching every week. On the other hand, I think I'm going to drop KanColle. I feel like I would love the show if I knew more about the game and backstory, as the genre/character designs are right up my alley. But without the necessary context, it's really hard to keep all of the shipgirls straight, which makes trying to sympathize with them kind of exhausting.
  8. It was a tough choice, but I followed the majority and went with number 6. That face
  9. I've been reading the manga at the same time as the anime so I could try and compare it, and the anime so far is a pretty faithful (albeit slightly modernized) adaptation. I won't let myself go any further than what the anime has covered, though, as I don't want to ruin any plot twists for myself.
  10. I'm in the middle of a huge Touhou phase, so here's Youmu
  11. I just sent out a Valentine for the first time since elementary school. Yaaay.
  12. I actually just finisched C;H myself. It was a pretty interesting read, for sure. Now I'm trying my hand at reading another untranslated game called Mashiro Summer. It's pretty good so far, even if I'm not quite catching 100% of all the lines being said....
  13. Alright, here are some pictures of the Rewrite set: The back of the box... The guidebook (along with an example of some of the stuff inside): The alternate covers and trading cards: And finally, the game, soundtrack CD, and Radio Drama CD: It also came with a small, green leather phone strap with "Rewrite" written on it, but it's on my bag right now, and it's so small that it's not really worth getting a picture of.
  14. I can post a picture this afternoon, I guess. Its a pretty nice set. Edit: not that it matters anyways, because I'm obviously going to be the one who wins.
  15. This is it. This is the giveaway I was born to take part in. Good thing I have lots of free time.
  16. Hmm, well there was one time where I was playing an older nukige (pretty sure it was X-Change) in my room. Being an older game, It defaulted to full screen, meaning that it was harder to just minimizing it. So when my mom came in to talk to me about something, I panicked and, forgetting that I could have just hit the escape key, slammed my laptop shut. Mom then spent about 5 minutes telling me to open it back up because she thought I was hiding something, and she didn't go away until I at least showed her my lock screen. I got away with it, but since then, I've stopped playing anything too hardcore when she's home.
  17. This is one of my favorite types of VNs, so I fully support the creation of this list. That said, I can't think of any more off the top of my head that haven't been mentioned, but I can at least second the addition of euphoria and the Corpse Party games.
  18. I don't know, the Cyclops girl is at least sort of cute (in a way), but that insect girl game is, well, not my thing. At alln. I'm convinced that they saw the success of Hatoful Boyfriend and thought, "Hey, people like gimmicky VNs, so let's put out more of them." And the sad thing is that these will probably sell more than any of their GOOD titles, thanks to YouTube Lets Plays and all that. ...or maybe I'm over thinking this, and they really were just approached by the developers. The world may never know.
  19. The only ahegao I really like (or find even remotely decent, really) is the stuff from Hamashima Shigeo in Clockup games. That may be why I don't play many nukige, because a lot of the ones that look good have awful facial expressions to go along with scenes I otherwise would have liked.
  20. I just finished reading Fight Club. I don't know what I expected going into it, but definitely wasn't that. Now I'm ready to watch the movie.
  21. So far the standouts for me are Death Parade, Saekano, and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu. The only show I've dropped so far is Yuri Kuma Arashi, because I couldn't handle all the ~symbolism~. the yuri was pretty nice though.
  22. Oh jesus, I've been eyeing that memorial box for years, but it's way too expensive for me, so my fingers are already tightly crossed. I'll be looking forward to whatever you end up doing for all of these prizes.
  23. Can't forget the bad ending where the entire boob continent turned into a giant ass. Even for a nukige, this thing was beyond shallow. I can't even imagine how awful the first one was if the sequel is supposed to be "better."
  24. Looks like someone found my favorite anime.
  25. Even as a fan of the game, I would have to agree with you.
