ef - a fairy tale of the two gets rare "AO" rating from ESRB
suikashoujo replied to partysmores's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I loved ef, and in the event that I manage to order it in time, I would love to have this. Hard copies are my weakness. -
It's better than that Happy song, that's for sure.

Maybe that's the problem, is that I'm not immersed. I know it's a favorite on these forums, but most of the characters just aren't grabbing me, which is kind of what makes or breaks a common route in most cases. For example, I loved the infamous Grisaia common route because the characters were so fun, and they all played off each other so well. But I'm not laughing at 3/4 of what happens in this game, I'm just getting bored by it. So that's why it's taking so long.

Other than the one with Yumiko in the middle of the episode, I felt like they were a lot less forced this episode than last episode. The one with Makina made sense, at least, and the rest were only visible for a second at the most. I'd be happier if they weren't there at all, but it was a slight improvement, at least.

I-is that dog girl yuri? And a scene with 3 girls at once? I would play this. I don't know anything about available tools, and even if I did, I lack the knowledge to translate it. But this looks too cute to pass up if anyone ever does it.

I decided to take a break from Hoshizora no Memoria so that I could play Killer Queen. It's been pretty entertaining so far, even though the art is, well... interesting, to say the least. It also serves as a nice break from Hoshimemo's neverending common route. Seriously, this is probably the third game I've started since beginning Hoshimemo, just because it's so hard to focus on it. People say the routes are good, though. I just hope they really are worth sitting through this monster of a common route.

This is so messed up. It's obvious that Girl-With-The-Short-Blue-Hair is best girl.

Sekai Project Official Grisaia Translation?
suikashoujo replied to douggle's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I really, REALLY want the hard copies more than anything else, but $200-300 for a collector's box set as the ONLY means of getting them? Looks like it'll be the disappointment of not getting the Steins;Gate LE times 3, for me. -_- -
I watched my last two premieres of the season today, Kiseijuu and Daitoshokan. Everything on my list has officially started now. Kiseijuu looks like it will be interesting, but Daitoshokan... well, I'll give it another episode, but it was really generic.

Watch FMP; It's one of my favorite anime of all time- I still recommend it to newcomers. Amagi episode 1 was, well, brilliant. I expected it be good as soon as I saw the name of the original creator, but I was really entertained throughout the episode. It'll definitely be staying on my watch list. Kiseijuu and Daitoshokan are the only shows I'm waiting on now. At this rate, the only show I'm even remotely considering dropping is Ushinawareta... it's gonna need a great second episode to keep me coming back. Everything else is good, though- seems my excitement for the Fall season was justified.

I've played most of Key's titles (except Air, which has been on my list for years after loving the anime, and the spinoff games), and Kanon was the weakest out of all of them. It's a good read if you want to see how they got their start, though, as it does hold a lot of the same themes that they used in later games.
-
Someone on Twitter said they heard it was pretty good, too... I'm still a little nervous, but I feel like after Ushinawareta, VN adaptations can only go up in quality. (This isn't including the UBW that everyone loves, since I'm not into Fate, but I heard that was amazing, so... it might not be the best this season, but it won't be the worst.)
-
Ushinawareta was pretty terrible, but I feel like I need to keep watching just to figure out what exactly is going on. I can't just stop watching, it's like a trainwreck that I can't take my eyes off of.

Haven't watched any of the ones being discussed so far, but the first episode of Selector Spread Wixoss was pretty good. I missed that show, and even though most of it was slow or a recap (which I needed anyways after a season away from it), there were already some interesting reveals about the end of the first season. It was a good way to ease back into the series.

For games, probably Corpse Party. I'm not scared all that easily, but that one had me unsettled while (and for a few days after) playing it.

I have the LE of the game, and it came with an artbook. I'd say about 3/4 of the pictures of Kurugaya have her showing off far more skin than usual. I think they REALLY wanted to play up the" Sexy Oneesan" type with her, which... makes sense I guess, but it's a little much in my opinion.
-
Like I said before, I considered Kurugaya's route the weakest, so I get where you're coming from completely. I don't remember her "true" end being TOO significant, but iirc, it gave it a slightly happier ending. Nothing long or groundbreaking though, just an extra scene and a CG, I think. And welcome to the best girl's route. Some really didn't like it, but besides Refrain, Komari's route was probably my favorite (and the first one I did, because I liked Komari). Hers is a bit more on the realistic side than Kurugaya's, so you might like it more, too.
-
I don't think anything this anime does could disappoint me more than that.
-
Hmm, that's true, I suppose. It really might just be that I don't remember it all that well, but when I eventually reach it in my reread, I'm sure I can appreciate that aspect of it a bit more.
-
It would be great if they could successfully cover all of the routes somehow, but if that's really not an option, I think Amane would be the best choice. My personal choice would be Sachi, but her route was kind of insignificant in the scheme of things, so I'm not getting my hopes up there.
-
I feel like Kurugaya's route was actually the least memorable for me. I can remember the specific conflicts for all of the other girls, but for some reason, I only have vague memories of Kurugaya. She was a great heroine for sure, and as I'm rereading the common route, I'm remembering how much I liked her. But her route was one of the weakest, imo. Not to say it was terrible, though, it was still a fun read. Love-Love Hunters was great.

I actually kind of like the new opening theme, and the character designs are starting to grow on me. I'm still a little nervous story-wise, but the new PV makes it look like it'll be entertaining, at the very least: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ls_uwqYP4eo
