  1. Yeah, I am fasting I think my timezone is GMT +3:00 or something, not sure...
  2. So this is how wanting to play a game for the graphics feels like...
  3. Umineko is loved by many, though I did not like it very much myself(I am too dumb to understand "the truth of Umineko").
  4. I do not think that Skype is a polite thing to do with other people around... Edit: I think this is my 200th post. Yay.
  5. Personally, I'd recommend Ever17 and Steins;Gate. Umineko is pretty damn long, actually, so pass that for now. If you are OK with something with gameplay and have a 3DS or Vita, try Zero Escape. (No matter what you do, read 999 before Virtue's Last Reward!)
  6. Weeping manly tears in a library might not be a good idea.
  7. Personally, my family is home all the time and because of that, I cannot really join. :/
  8. I'd personally thought that not many WVN's (I'll use this term from now on) really did "high school with bland MC" trope, but it seems that is not the case. Well, at least we have somewhat different VN's like Exogenesis or World End Economica. I'll be optimistic and say that this is because the WVN scene is just a fetus at this point in time.(Think of it like this: "Was Super Mario 64's graphics really spectacular?") The first step of learning pretty much anything is imitation. Let's say you are trying to learn how to play football from scratch. Just by watching a football player you won't become a world-class football player, but then again, watching matches will show you tactics and maneuvers that might help you. Looking at a guitar cover of a song does not mean that you will pick up the guitar and play it easily, but it might show you how to do that one chord you were having problems with. You won't learn Japanese just by watching loli anime, but you might learn how to correctly pronounce a word. So we are in tough times for WVN's, but that is normal. It is not easy for babies to learn how to walk and talk.
  9. I think your general idea about western VN's is that they too often try to imitate Japanese VN's and fail miserably at that(since the creators are not Japanese), and thus you are doubtful towards many Western VN's. Would you say that is correct? By the way, I think that maybe 10 years later, when there are many more Western VN developers, VN's might develop a new sub-genre: Western VN's (WVN for short.). They might have their own tropes, their own general art style, maybe a different understanding of choices and consequences, and different methods of storytelling. Maybe, one day, just like how Westerners both like RPG's and JRPG's, Japanese VN readers will both read VN's and WVN's. (Of course I am not talking about eroge and nukige, West has nothing to beat tentacle rape simulators on that front.)
  10. Fuwa helps by raising awareness, however as the population of a community increases, the overall quality might decrease. So, however unlikely it is, take this example: If CoD people grew an attraction to VN's, I do not think that would help to be honest. I'd rather let VN's stay to the few people that have managed to find them by their own means. The problem this creates is that this causes a tiiiiiiiiiiiny Western VN market. But thanks to the translators, that problem is alleviated to some degree. I'd still like VN's to be localized, just not showed to everyone in the public.
  11. Games can be one thing or another(and if they do both well, they are genuine masterpieces): 1)They can be fun. 2)They can convey a story or a message. They are equally important. And pretty much all VN's I have read managed to achieve the second one. A full list of all I have done so far: Umineko taught me how strong love, the desire for truth or revenge and perspective can be . Steins ;Gate taught me of memories and friendship. 999 told me of the morphogenetic field and how people are never what they seem, but mostly told me a great tale. VLR told me an incredible story and bent my mind with each twist, and when I finished it, it became my favorite video game of all time. FruitSim told me of... ...fruit. VN's made me find this absolutely amazing and weird community. They sparked my interest in Japanese and made me realize what a beautiful language it is, and what a unique culture it is built upon. If someone told me Japanese were actually from another planet, I would not have been surprised. VN's are pretty damn awesome.
  12. Finally I am seeing a song that I have actually heard before on Fuwa. My two favorites: damn it this is one of the most underrated songs ever. and I don't usually like "puberty rock"(sung by someone who is ~20 years old just does not fit usually), but when I do... I fall in love with it.
  13. I'd just like to point out that 999's ROM is crazily easy to find.
  14. Guess who is going to buy 999, Danganronpa and DR2 from Amazon soon with cargo as much as the actual order? >_>
  15. It means that a seller is selling the product it question via Amazon. There is still a guarantee as far as I know, though.
  16. Well, Steins; Gate torrent was taken down after the English localization on Fuwanovel if I remember correctly. Therefore, I'd say that if a VN was posted before the localization, that does not mean it can't be taken down just because of that.
  17. ***ZERO ESCAPE SPOILERS***
  18. A full one. I have my own criticisms for it myself, and I'd like to see if you have similar ones.
  19. All I can say is that 999 is under-appreciated, even in the world of VN's.
  20. TU FUI, EGO ERIS. What you are, I was. What I am, you will be.

  21. I do not know where 999 is on your list, but move it to the top. Now. Personally, my feeling about 999 and VLR is coined in this post: Why did you hate VLR? (Given that it is my favorite game and all, I want to know. Just curious.)
  22. Then, my question is this: Do you think VN's like Ace Attorney and Zero Escape are "games", then? Edit: Do you think those are games with VN elements, then? (I think your definition of VN is "a medium where there is minimal amount of any player interaction and a heavy basis on storytelling", correct me if I am wrong.)
  23. If you have a 3DS, Zero Escape and Ace Attorney series are a must play.
  24. I think, without the words and drums, would fit well into Umineko.
  25. -Usually anime-ish art style -ADV/"text-all-over-screen" label -Multiple(mostly more than 5) endings based on decisions I fail to see these in RPG's. But then again, opinions.
