You are getting the facts wrong. They never said the staff was offended by the content. They said the staff was afraid of legal repercussions. Also as for Starless, the patch was not bundled with the game. A restoration patch torrent cropped up on the same day the game shipped. The same thing is probably going to happen for Shiny Days (it hasn't shipped yet).

No, JAST is not saying when the game will be released. There is no date to find so you can stop looking. For future reference, VNDB is all you need to consult. The data there is accurate >99% of the time. In this case you can see the release in the english section of releases has no date set, which means the english translation has no announced release date and it's anyone's guess as to when it will come out.

Also I just want to say that this is a good idea. And also the only reason I think so is because I've started posting content to the fuwazette and I'm the only one to do so. So it'll be just a little space just for me and no one else.

I'm thinking of writing a Shiny Days troubleshooting guide for the Fuwazette. If you guys find any solutions to some of the problems going around, I'd like to know. Right now we have the random crashing which can be resolved by being in windowed mode. We have the save issues which is resolved by either installing the game into a non-write-protected directory or running it as admin. There's the crash with the three dialog boxes after selecting a costume that some people on the JAST forums have described, which has no known fix, IIRC. Anyone have any other issues/solutions? To Sanahtlig, did you figure out if installing .net framework 3.5 made any difference? Seems like it made no difference for the full screen crash but I haven't seen anyone report about the other crash. edit: this article is going to trigger so many people who hate seeing "game" used to describe VNs

Mkilbride seems to have a major problem with actually being properly informed, and is made a series of grossly misinformed rant posts based on false information. A lot of what he has said throughout this thread has no basis in reality.

I feel like most parts of the site needs more exposure on the other parts. Right now it feels like Fuwanovel is four independent sites with nothing to do with each other, the front-page game database, the Fuwazette, the Reviews Hub, and the forums. More interconnectivity and more ways to see what's happening on one part of the site from another would be great and would encourage more people to participate in all aspects of the site. Sometimes a simple solution can work really well. Look how many more personal blog posts were being made once they enhanced the sidebar to show the last 10 (although it's back down to 5), that was a pretty immediate boost. The user blogs are a minor and unpopular section of the site, so I'd imagine that adding that level of exposure across the other sections of the site would have even stronger effects.

Also I just want to say that there aint nothin' wrong with liking Chihaya. She's awesome. Rewrite's biggest disappointment was that her route kind of sucked.

Yeah basically, the after stories in S are all continuations of the routes from 1. But the bulk of the new content in S is the stuff branching off the new start point they set up, where Yamato has yet to get into a romantic relationship with anyone.

The main starting trunk of Majikoi S starts from no route and instead creates its own start point after Chris and Yukie join the group but before (or at/during?) the first game's branch point.

I enjoy both Jun Maeda's and Tanaka Romeo's senses of humor more than almost all other VN authors, but they are pretty different. I like the change of pace because barely any VNs at all have protagonists like theirs. There are options to turn off all gameplay aspects in LB, but I can't remember if these options are disabled during your first playthrough or not. The battling system was pretty amusing at first, but kind of ceases to be so during the 2nd through 6th+ playthroughs of the common route.

I remember suggesting quite some time ago when Doddler was complaining about no one taking MG's all-ages stuff seriously because of their reputation that they just spin that stuff off into a separate brand. There is nothing wrong with having two brands for your two distinct markets, and it helps immensely when dealing with the press who is usually very averse to adult content and anyone who deals in adult content. I still think that would be a positive step for them. But I also still think that Denpasoft doesn't do enough promotion. By that, I mean they do literally no promotion at all. They make a tweet for each release and... that's it? Surely they could try harder than that. I think Dovac said they were hiring more people to handle that kind of thing but that was a while ago and there hasn't been any changes.

You know... yeah this makes sense. This is going to get a bit ranty. I don't know much about the LC, to be honest. I didn't even know it existed until months after it did exist. Every time I heard about it, it sounded like the dumbest possible thing. And it never surprises me with how little it achieved. Or is that achieves? Does it still continue to exist, impacting nothing at all? Who knows! Who cares! Not me. So you know, I'm just gonna hit Tay up on skype, ask him about maybe posting more stuff to the Fuwazette, and if he gives me the okay I'm gonna do it. Fuck bureaucracy, fuck red tape. I'm sure there were/are plenty of well-meaning people on the LC but I'd rather not sit around and talk about doing things while never actually doing them, I'd rather just do them once I decide I want to.

I think the whole fuwanovel being in decline thing is being pretty exaggerated. In my eyes, it's not much different from how it has been over the last ~17 months I've been around. But I've also never really cared about the forums games, streams, podcasts, etc. I have a pretty one-track mind when it comes to this site. I will say that I want to post more content to the main fuwanovel blog. I don't 100% know what I would be posting but I think some more front-page content would generate more traffic that could eventually bleed over to the forums. Maybe to start with something simple like basic news posts when fan patches and new VNs are released. I mean, it's better than nothing, right? I look at the front page and see nothing but our weekly VNTS posts and get a little depressed.
