Well, if you could get behind the idea of a sister x sister romance instead, SonoHana Nyuu Jene has a twincest route, which is probably one of my favorite incest romances in the VNs I have read so far. The English game isn't quite done yet, but the TL and editing is done, and it's in beta testing, so it should hopefully be out soon. (Look at my signature to see their adorableness.) Might be a bit of a tease, but Kimi e okuru, sora no hana, (which is not TLed as of yet either, but has a project going for it,) has a sister route which is really good, too. Strongly recommend that one, whenever the patch comes out.

I agree with Decay and the others that English amature voice actors are usually quite bad, but I strongly disagree with the idea that putting Japanese voices into an otherwise fully English game is a logical move. If the game is going to have an actual Japanese translation, then it does make more sense, but if not, I see absolutely no reason to do so.

Ey, welcome to the forum, nice to meet you Shuffle, it's sequel Tick! Tack! and Really? Really! are all fun, SOL, romance games. Recommend giving those a go. If you want something a bit more serious and story oriented, but still with some SOL comedy parts on the side, G-senjou no Maou is great.

This is pretty cool, it would be nice to see some Whirlpool titles TLed. Maybe this will open up for more TLs in the future.

Don't really know why you are asking me how those games are. Fairly certain I put Academy as the link in my original post. But yeah, I have not played the other two, so I have no idea how they are. I really did enjoy Academy though, so if they are somewhat similar in quality, I'd say they are pretty decent. But, if they are different and more serious, idk how they'll end up. The humor and goofy comedy was my primary attraction to Academy.

I haven't played Liberation Day, so I have no idea how that one is. I only played Sunrider Academy, which was pretty good in my opinion. It was funny, had some interesting characters, some actual length to it, good art and just overall felt like something you could compare to medium level JP VN. I also found the dating sim part of the game very entertaining, and actually challenging at higher difficulties, (though it did get very repetitive after a little bit of play time.)

I have nothing against OELVNs in general at all. If a VN is good, then that's all I need, and I don't care if it's Japanese, English or something else entierly. But, the fact of the matter is that a lot of the time, OELVNs tend to be low budget indie games that just don't live up to the quality of many JP VNs. This can be reflected in low quality art, voice acting (or simply a lack of it altogether), writing, length, character design and a whole lot more. Because of that, I would just much rather play a higher quality game. That might make me sound a bit shallow, but it really just comes down to the fact that I want to enjoy the games I play. A well written story with literal paint art will just be off-putting to me. Among the OELVNs I have played, One Thousand Lies and Sunrider are the ones that interested me the most. Sunrider actually managed to somewhat keep up with JP VNs overall quality wise, and One Thousand Lies is just quite simply brilliantly written. (And free!)

Seems like it could be interesting. The trailer doesn't give away much, but the backgrounds looks good, and the little that is said sounds intriguing. Can you say anything about what kind of genre this VN is in? Will the game be voiced? Does the player get choices through the story, or is it like a kinetic novel? Anyways, best of luck with the project.

Yeah I'm pretty used to writing as well. It's just, making the sentences up completely in Japanese wasn't as easy as in English. The way I usually write is by planning out a rough sketch with the outlines of the chapter, then fill out the details and what not as I start writing. Actually producing well-written and detailed lines in Japanese, solely based off that sketch was not that easy. I'm sure I'd get used to it by simply doing it more, though I want to get even more comfortable with the way Japanese fiction is written before I do. I still haven't read Japanese VNs for that long, while I have read English books since I was 13. Translating is easier, as you have the already formulated Japanese sentence there, and you re-write it into English. Also works very similarly the other way, from English to Japanese, though I have less experience with that.

Whoaa! I actually tried this. Conclusion: I'm not very good at writing actual Japanese fiction yet. Translating is one thing, but making up several pages worth of stuff in Japanese is not as easy. It just sounds like a child wrote it when I try, lol.

The new heroine routes, as well as the after routes are not TLed, as far as I know.) Other than that, it's hard to say. I doubt Flying Pantsu will do the fandisk, but who knows.

As a general rule of thumb, most games are playable without the 18+ content, as important story segments rarely occur during H-scenes, but do you still lose something by not playing them? Yes, absolutely. (I mean, it is literally parts of the game ripped out. No matter what the nature of this content is, the truth is that it was supposed to be there, and now it isn't. This is the reason a lot of people do not like this form of censorship, no matter what type of content it is they are missing out on.) As for this particular game, I have not played it, so I don't know how the H content affects the story, but I'd say look into getting the 18+ version, if losing parts of the game concerns you. Chances are, you won't miss out on anything extremely important, but the constant feel of possibly being left out is a rather annoying one.

Tbh, what makes me cringe is Japanese voices in OELVNs... (Unless it's actually a Japanese TL, of course.)

I-I don't have all the games in that series installed on my computer or anything... My weirdest VN finished is also a CYCLET game. Not weird in a bad way, mind you. It has to be Guro Dere, which was just so strangely unique. It used guro and humor alongside each other, as well as normal vanilla scenes with romance ontop of the crazy guro scenes. The heroines were also quite strange, a huge M vampire who loves being mutilated because she thinks pain is pleasurable, and a chuuni loli witch. It was a really weird, but hilarious read. I wish they would make a sequel.

Just going to weigh in and say that if your Japanese level is very low, then reading any of these will prove difficult. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try, but just keep that in mind. Grisaia no Meikyuu and Rakuen were two of my first untranslated VNs, and they were very difficult for me at the time. But, I really wanted to read them, (I didn't know the TLs were coming at the time, lol,) and so I pushed through. I think that motivation and a serious wish to finish the game you are reading is very important when trying to get through untranslated VNs at a low level. A few general tips I'd give you is: don't try to compare the speed in which you read the untranslated VNs in to the speed you read translated ones in. Don't think about how long it is taking you to read, but instead just enjoy the ride. Even if you literally just end up reading 10 lines one day, it's still something. Don't feel demotivated if you don't understand absolutely everything right away. Sometimes in the early stages, you will encounter certain lines you don't fully comprehend. Instead of wearing yourself out trying to understand that one line, try to think of what is happening as a whole, and use the context as well as the previous and following lines to understand it. Remember that not every single line in a VN is going to be crucial information. Even in the worst case scenario where you don't really understand the scene, you can always save there and come back later. Best of luck.
