Question to script translators.
Dergonu replied to ShinRaikdou's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
I have worked a few different ways, and I prefer spreadsheets as well. Notepad is a bit messy, especially if everyone are supposed to work in the same notepad file. It's saved offline and has to be manually uploaded to like a drive for sharing, and you can't lock the actual TL field as far as I know. Spreadsheets is a nice way to keep everything neat and simple, with a field for each person. (TL, TLC, Editor etc.) You can lock the TL field for editing so that the TL itself can't be changed by mistake. It's also stored online and auto saves. So, as long as you have the formatting down then it's a great way to work. Looking up some guides on the internet on how to do it proppely is probably a good idea. As for already existing software you can use, I don't know about anything tbh. For my Tsui Yuri project, my hacker created some tools that my team could work in, which was very helpful. Though, simply making your own isn't something everyone has the ability to do of course. (It worked very similarly to spreadsheets though, and spreadsheets are free for everyone to use online if you use something like google docs, so once again: spreadsheets are awesome.) -
Hey, welcome to the forum, nice to meet you

It's uh... I don't actually get what that is. I like It though, it's funky. 6/10

Hey, welcome! Meh, when it comes to stuff like this, age hardly matters. As long as you enjoy it, that's all that should matter tbh. Hope to see you around.

What are you reading? Untranslated edition
Dergonu replied to Funnerific's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I finished ... harem vacation. (The title is just too damn long, rofl.) It was a pretty entertaining nukige overall. Nice H, actually funny humor and some pretty quirky and entertaining heroines. The CG art felt a bit inconsistent at times, but other than that I really don't have any complaints about it. Wouldn't exactly call it a masterpiece, but hey, it was a nice, short read. The best part of the game was in my opinion, Nazuna. She is just priceless; switching between being a total slob and a "brilliant" inventor, she is all over the place. Also, her speech pattern is adorable, and I enjoyed seeing a heroine with animal features that wasn't just your standard kitsune/ fox/ neko/ dog. She is a tanuki... girl? No idea what the "neko" equivalent of that would be, lol. Anyways, I have now started playing Hakoniwa Logic, at long last. Exams are making my reading speed quite slow at the moment, but I played up to the opening so far, and it's been great. The story actually interests me, and it looks like it is going to manage to balance the slice of life and the drama nicely. (The flowchart in game looks a bit scary though... I was thinking of playing this without a walkthrough, but idk... hopefully figuring out the routes in this won't be too hard, lol.) Just like in Kimisora, it looks like the heroines are going to be pretty awesome: (Sorry for the random quality and the weird edges.) I have already fallen in love with Kirika. She is quirky as hell, and it's so great. She also uses boku, and has a bunch of small details to her that I like in heroines. Going to have to uninstall this nude patch though, if it's possible. The fact that the two main heroines are naked 24/7 is a bit distracting, rofl. I didn't even think of that when I installed it -

Well if you want eroge, I don't think a lot of retailers will allow the usage of paypal, as paypal itself has a rule saying you can't buy / sell 18+ goods using their service. If paypal is your only option, I'd recommend Eden* and Lucy for steam games. (Both of these games are all-ages in their original version, so no content is lost upon playing the steam version.) Also, both games are very enjoyable. I have also heard great things about The house in fata morgana, though I have not played it myself. (Also an all-ages game originally.) Grisaia no Kajitsu is indeed a very good game, but I do not recommend the steam version of that game, as it has a lot of content removed, which will, in my opinion, ruin the experience. If you are going to play the game, you should play the Denpasoft version, or the fan patched Japanese version.
-
Yeah I get that, I hate censorship myself. Nothing was changed in the steam version, so you have nothing to fear there!
-
Tokyo Babel is all-ages, so both versions are identical.
-
It was a very entertaining game. Cool characters, good story, great action, fun humor. Pretty solid overall. I'd say go for it.
-
They do not, as this was not translated by Mangagamer. Seeing as the game released on steam is the only English version, unless you speak Japanese (or Chinese; there is a simplified Chinese patch for the 18+ game,) it will be worth it if you really do want to play it, but as you seemingly have already concluded, the game will be lacking its 18+ content. I think the decision should come down to whether or not you look at 18+ content as important or not. Sanahtlig did post this on a VNDB discussion about the game, so the 18+ content doesn't seem crucial for your understanding of the story.

Frontwing teases a big new project on twitter
Dergonu replied to Dergonu's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Well, the thing is that this game seems to branch off from Grisaia no Rakuen, (just read the summary,) not Kajitsu, so Makina's endings in that game shouldn't be relevant. As far as the main cast coming back in this goes, I strongly doubt it will happen. It would be cool, but it would make little sense with the ending in Rakuen. -

Dergonu replied to Dergonu's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Indeed, I'm really excited for this too, actually. At first, the idea of a sequel made me facepalm, but seeing as its not a continuation of Yuuji's story, but something else entierly, I'm super hyped. I think the volumes thing really will rub some people the wrong way, and I have to admit, I find it a bit annoying myself too, but I get why they do it from a business standpoint. As far as the all-ages thing goes, meh, who cares. If it was a censored release of an 18+ game, that would be something else, but just a game being released all-ages to begin with shouldn't annoy anyone. I mean, there is already lots of all-ages VNs out there, and based off the summary, it seems this will be a bit of a differnet story from the main Grisaia games, so sex shouldn't be so much in focus here. -
Frontwing teases a big new project on twitter
Dergonu replied to Dergonu's topic in Visual Novel Talk
It's a new title following the aftermath of the last game, as in "what happened to the world after that?" It doesn't seem to use any characters we already know, so it's not really a sequel, though it does follow the canon events in Rakuen. It's all-ages, and will be released at the same time in Japan and the rest of the world, in the form of 3 volumes. Release date "Vol.1 & Vol.2: Spring 2017 worldwide release Vol.3: Summer 2017 (tentative) Subsequent volumes are also planned for release in the future" Promo movie: -

Rakuen is the game with the most H content. Logic would say porting it would take the longest. (Though, it would be great if it is out fast, unlike the Meiykuu release, which still isn't out for the english fans in its original state.) -

I feel like Rakuen had more than enough action. (In fact, it was a bit over the top to my liking...) Grisaia no Rakuen spoilers: -

(ANSWERED) Automatically display text from ITH with Chiitrans?
Dergonu replied to Dergonu's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
Ah I see, thanks, it's working now. Well, I'll use this method when possible, and just use ITH + auto paste to clipboard + Chiitrans for other games. I prefer to always use Chiitrans to display the text itself, though what actually hooks said text really doesn't matter to me at all, as long as it's displayed propperly in Chiitrans in the end. -

The "install user hooks" is greyed out, and has a key next to it for me, so I can't click it. Any idea how to make it clickable? -
(ANSWERED) Automatically display text from ITH with Chiitrans?
Dergonu replied to Dergonu's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
It certainly does! I had no idea that option was a thing, thank you! -
Like the title asks, I'm wondering if there is a way to automatically hook the text that pops up on ITH in Chiitrans. Some games simply aren't hookable using Chiitrans, but I still prefer the lightweight and simple Chiitrans window when reading for full immersion. Does anyone know of a way where you can hook the game with ITH, but keep the Chiitrans window open and then have the ITH text displayed on there automatically? Having to go into the ITH window and highlight the new text every time in order to get it to pop up on Chiitrans is quite tedious at times. You basically have to take a short break for every line when reading like that.

As much as I love Grisaia, more after Rakuen? Pls no... (Grisaia no Rakuen spoilers.) Personally, I'd like to see a game like Pure girl or Innocent girl get TLed. As far as nukige goes, they are pretty nice. -
According to this tweet sent out today by Frontwing on twitter, they will be making a big announcement on Friday about their next project. (They also made a tweet a bit earlier today, announcing the announcement of an announcement, which I have to admit, made me chuckle.) Anyways, I have no idea what this is going to be, but do any of you guys have any speculations? (Maybe it is obvious from the picture in their tweet, idk. I personally did not recognize it.) EDIT: info on the game: It's a new title following the aftermath of the last game, as in "what happened to the world after that?"
