Whoops, my bad- I had it up on Pixiv, but apparently the link from there didn't work. But I uploaded it to imgur and fixed the link in my post, so it should work now.

Based on previous posts, I decided that Rena was a safe bet for best girl. EDIT: Aaaand here's part 2. I'm adding it into this post so that I don't end up double posting. I probably got everyone's appearances wrong, but oh well, that's part of the fun, I guess. Also, since I thought the pictures on their own weren't very exciting, I added a picture of myself (VERY nondescript, so the other contestants don't know my true appearance ) and made a little logo to commemorate the contest. This is my last entry, after all, so I figured I'd have a little extra fun with it.

To be fair, it's almost impossible to find an anime with a VN backround that DOESN'T get publicized with fanservice. Especially not one with 18+ content. I mean, even the LitBus anime had a lot of fanservicey images going around, and the actual show didn't have a whole lot of it (except a few scenes from the game).

I just finished Symphonic Rain, and I don't think I've gotten angrier at a single character in a game in a long time. Grave was an actual piece of human garbage, for sure. Usually harsh characters like that redeem themselves, so I was definitely not expecting that last scene. You know it's bad when the BAD END is easier to stomach...

I don't outright dislike her, but I noticed after I started talking to more people on various sites that she is REALLY unpopular with a lot of people. Comes with being about 95% tsun, I guess.

Good news: drawing people is my specialty. Bad news: SO MUCH GUESSWORK. I wonder how people picture me?

Been a while since I shared mine...

One of the main reasons I got into VNs was because I wanted to play Higurashi (the anime was pretty much my obsession at the time). But when I finally bought and started playing it, I never managed to get past the beginning of the second arc. The same think happened recently when I tried to play Umineko- I dropped it before I could even finish the first arc. I wouldn't say I COMPLETELY hate Ryukishi, because the stories he creates tend to be great. Lucia's route in Rewrite was easily the best one, even though I initially disliked her as a character. But I can't stand his writing style. It's not the translation that's the problem, it's the fact that there is way too much description even in scenes that don't really need it. It just feels unnecessarily dragged out, and it makes it hard to sit and read it for a long time. Other than that though, I don't have any specific thoughts on writers. Unless it's a high-profile writer like Ryukishi or Jun Maeda, I sometimes don't ever find out who wrote a specific game.

Time to awaken my true abilities...

That's what I was thinking. We might as well just finish this with one last challenge, instead of waiting until the weekend.

The main problem with trying to make Japanese food (at least where I live) is getting the right ingredients. There's a lot that just isn't possible with common ingredients I have around the house at a moment's notice. But I've found a few good recipes around the internet. My favorites are omurice, which is just rice, chicken, and ketchup inside an omelet with more ketchup drizzled on top; and oyako-don,a rice bowl with chicken, eggs, and some vegetables in a soy sauce-based sauce. Tempura and fried rice are pretty quick and easy, too. There are some great recipes online as long as you do some digging.

I've seen a lot of people who've disliked them, but I actually really enjoyed the side routes in G-Senjou. Granted, the true route (as well as the featured heroine) was the best in the game, but there were some great moments in the rest of the routes. Tsubaki's route in particular had some real shining moments. So I was a bit surprised when I saw how many people complained about them. They aren't too long either, so it seems like a waste to skip them.

Recent (Japanese) Things You Have Purchased
suikashoujo replied to Tatsujin's topic in Members' Lounge
Gunslinger Girl is an all-time favorite of mine; I'm reading the manga right now after rewatching the anime last week. As for my recent purchases, I just put in orders for the Rewrite Harvest Festa LE, the Hirameki release of Day of Love, the final volumes of the Full Moon wo Sagashite and Chibi Vampire manga (both replacements for the copies I traded for my Ever17 hard copy last year), and the Magical Witch Punie-Chan DVD. I ordered them all off of Amazon from different sellers, which means I have 5 separate deliveries to look forward to in the near future. Pictures then... maybe. -
The artstyle in Harukoi Otome played a big part in making me drop it early on, but that was just because it was one of many mediocre parts of the VN. Usually I can suck it up and get over bad art in a game with a good story, though, although it can be a little distracting sometimes (I disliked the art style in Swan song, but it was still a really good VN).

This one will take some extra explaining, but oh well.

I need a top 5 for this. Interestingly enough, a lot of my favorites are for untranslated games (some of which I've played, some I haven't). 1. Rakuen no Tobira (euphoria) 2. Fractale (Dark Blue) 3. Distorted Pain (Gore screaming Show) 4. Little Busters! (Little Busters!) 5. Aka no Sora (Oni Uta) There are more, but these were the first to come to mind. Darker/more serious games almost always have the best openings, imo. (Key stuff is an exception to that rule though; I could have filled a whole list with their stuff)

Ren's Monthly Fuwanovel Activity - Cryptic Puzzle Sleuthing
suikashoujo replied to OriginalRen's topic in Members' Lounge
There are several phases- solving the anagram points you towards the next one. As for me, I'm having a pretty hard time figuring out where to go next at the stage I'm on. How obvious is it that you're done when you reach the last clue? -
Ren's Monthly Fuwanovel Activity - Cryptic Puzzle Sleuthing
suikashoujo replied to OriginalRen's topic in Members' Lounge
I've been working on this for 2-3 hours; no joke. And I STILL can't figure it out. -
See, this is the kind of topic I tend to go all out for. I cleaned off my shelf just so I could get some good pictures. I don't know why some were tilted on their side or upside down, but whatever. I download a lot too, but usually only stuff from the currently airing seasons, or shows that came out in the past few years that are either unreleased, or too new for me to afford. Most of my hard drive is dedicated to VNs.

Little Busters Ecstasy Giveaway + Treasure Hunt!
suikashoujo replied to OriginalRen's topic in Members' Lounge
I'm in. I already have the original all-ages LE, but I want to be prepared for the eventual EX release! -
I'm still 1,145 points away from getting Nico, but at the rate I've been going, I'll probably get it tomorrow, if not tonight. My main goal right now is to keep myself in the top 1,000 for the event ranking so I can idolize her at the end- I wasn't able to do that with Kotori, and I never reached the goal at all for the Umi event. ...side note, I've played so much today that I'm ranked 75 in the daily ranking. (I even hit 67 earlier today, but I've been waiting for my love gems to restore). Crazy.

VNs gave me a new way to experience the anime/manga type stories that I had already loved for a long time. They opened me up to more experiences and interests that I may have never given a second glance otherwise. And most importantly, they gave me a fun way to waste my time.

Which Visual were you most upset to see end?

You still have a ways to go. That's maybe a little over halfway through the game, iirc. -
Which Visual were you most upset to see end?

Kara no Shoujo is the best example of this for me. When I went into this game, I didn't know anything about Innocent Grey's love of cliffhangers. So needless to say, I wasn't exactly thrilled when I read the true end. In a different sense, I also wanted Muv Luv Alternative to keep going. Not because I loved it, but because I was waiting for the part that would blow me away like it did for everyone else. But it never came, and I thought, "That's it? There's nothing else?" ...I guess that counts, too.
