Visual Novel Translation Status (07/02/2018)
Foreword - Finally after one month absence (The longest waiting time so far) we have another VNTS here, and as expected both of admin Tay and Decay schedule from the last month was pretty hectic so they couldn't provide VNTS for most of the last month. So here's my VNTS Review for the last week with proper VNTS, and I hope you'll enjoy this.
Like I say before, finally we have VNTS here in which it mean that there's a lot to catch up on the main page. Although even without factoring one month absence, there's still a lot of catch up here because we got many updates and release in span of a week since my last VNTS Review. As for the title, since we have releases for both of Evenicle and Chaos Child I decided to make this week title as a parody for Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle dub name (Chronicle of the Wings), so we have 'Chronicle of Shibuya's Madness' as this week VNTS Review. For more elaboration here, the 'Chronicle' part was from Evenicle in which it was actually the acronym from 'Eve's Chronicle', and for 'Shibuya's Madness' it was come from the Chaos Child in which we have the in-game serial murder case known as 'New Generation Madness' with the crime locations was at Shibuya. With that done, welcome to this week VNTS Review and like I said at last VNTS Review as expected we have a lot of juicy updates and releases here, so overall this week is more interesting compared to the last week. So let's see what I can write for this week as well.
Sekai Project
Congratulation to Sekai in regard of their big release at this week Maitetsu for both of all age version and 18+ version, although unfortunately the later release was damaged by major mistake that Sekai made. While at the very least they still the sex scenes intact, the panty shot and the nipple was getting censored. While at the very least Sekai is slightly better than Pulltop, unfortunately it still shown of how incompetent that Sekai were because they somehow mixed the console version for 18+ version, something that should be easily prevented if Sekai did one last check before QA-ing it. As for the fix, I read that Sekai there was apparently bounded by the contract or something like that, so they can't do anything to the released VN and therefore we need to wait for a while before finally get it uncensored.
While the censorship here is quite alarming for Sekai competence there, personally I could less care if they only censoring nipple and panty shot as long the sex scenes is still intact, and I prefer that if we can talk about the story itself. As for the story itself, it'll be revolving around revitalizing old small city around the station by using the titular train which somehow managed to become the girl, even though it was mitigated by the fact that the girl is an android AI who operated the train instead of the real train. Well whatever, and if some of you decided to ignore the controversy behind Maitetsu and play it right now, have fun. For the last word here, actually I'm interested with a lot of opening in Maitetsu here, although unfortunately the good production value for that was overshadowed by the news about Sekai incompetence.
Other
We also have Venus Blood Frontier prefundia there with the base goal was at 125,000 in which it was pretty high, and if I remember the last time we have KS with base goal past 100,000 was back at Libra the Vampire Princess KS. While the number itself is quite high, at least it's justified because apparently they're on their own as this is actually Ninetales first experience to do their localization. While it's quite questionable that they managed to have KS for a game that was full of tentacle rape (Granted the sex contents were cut, but still), I hope that the KS will be successful so good luck to the KS. As for the estimated release time, it'll be at Summer 2019 later so it's gonna be a while before we finally see the release. I'll report the KS updates for Frontier if available later, and forget to say that at least we didn't have ridiculous tier that we can have a dinner with the illustrator for Frontier here (I look at you Koropukkur).
Other than Frontier KS, we have a bunch of updates from Nekonyan in which unfortunately we saw HGB will be delayed to November because lack of translator from the last month. Of course there's more update other than HGB delay and it was in regard of Sanoba release, in which they announced the estimated exact release date at October 26th later, and I'll be interested to see whether Nekonyan can fulfill this or not. We also have a plan for Fureraba complete edition release, in which Nekonyan will combined the main game and the fandisc into one package along with additional contents from Fureraba PSV version. For the release timeline, Fureraba complete edition will be released after fandisc release if you're curious about the release time, so it might be around autumn or early winter at the latest. For the last update from Nekonyan, we'll going to have two big titles from them and they'll going to announced that at August later. While for now it's still unknown what the titles are, if we following Shinku translation it might be possible that both of the projects were Astral Air and Irotoridori, and if that's true than it mean that Favorite will be added to the list of company that left Sekai.
Almost forget that we have Sprite tweeting something in regard of 'overseas transplants' for Aokana after the news said that they were in deep, but whether it'll be in regard of the dubbing of anime version of Aokana or the VN localization I'll just wait and see for now (It's good though if they localized the VN, because it's been cursed for a while). Also we have a release for this section at this week, and it was only an otome for PSV version so I'll just pass on the release (Have fun though if you have PSV for play that).
Mangagamer
Interesting to see that we have another update from Mangagamer two weeks after their last update, which mean that perhaps we'll gonna see biweekly update from them again after AX later. As for the updates roundup here, we have Son-Nyl was at almost halfway (49%) translated, Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 was at 68.3% translated and 67% edited, Tsui Yuri was finished the beta testing so it'll be enter the queue for the release, Amatarasu was at 34% edited, Maggot Bait was at 89.4% translated, Steam Prison was both fully translated and edited, and Trinoline was at 74% edited. I think that's all for Mangagamer's update roundup here.
Other than updates roundup earlier, we also have a big release from them in which it's obviously Evenicle back at June 28th. While Evenicle itself was may not as epic as Rance X (Both of those were from Alice Soft for the info), I would say that it managed to be a good standalone RPG compared to Rance. As for Evenicle, the premise was that our MC Aster was have very simple goal namely that he wants to marry both of his childhood friends only to be stopped by the rule that he can only marry one girl in the lifetime, so from there Aster search a way to become the knight in order to allow him to marry more than one female. While the premise sounds like an excuse plot for harem nukige VN thing, actually Evenicle itself is a RPG so obviously we'll going to have some gameplay and fighting there, and of course cliche JRPG story which may be nostalgic for some people. Forget to say that the character design was resembled Senran Kagura characters, and the reason was because Senran Kagura artist also did design characters for Evenicle here (At least some of girls breast didn't as big as Senran Kagura characters). Have fun for playing Evenicle if you already got that.
Fan Translation
As for this week, like Mangagamer and Sekai we also have a big release from this section. But before that let's see what update that we have for this week. For the updates, right now Eustia was at 47.36% translated, Loverable was at 77.88% TLC-ed and 39.56% edited, and Harugi's Main was at 38% translated (Bringing overall progress to 5% translated) along with the prologue was at 73% translated. Other than those three, there's Shin Koihime Musou still have some increased translated and edited line counts although the percentage is still static though (95% translated and 28% edited respectively). Before going to the big release, let me say congratulation for the release of Alice otome VN after three years of work. Here's their homepage if you want to get the patch, and as usual I'll just pass on this one since this is otome and all. Have fun though if you want to play Alice VN here, and at least it was available for PC in the first place instead of console only like most of the otome.
As for something interesting that I was talk about at the last VNTS Review, it was in regard of Chaos Child translation port patch in which it add the PS4/PSV translation into the PC version, and obviously it mean that finally we'll be able to play Chaos Child without using the console here. As for Chaos Child premise, once again it was in regard of one high school students and his female friends (With varied circumstances) who investigate the murders that eerily resembled the murders back at Chaos Head, so much that the in-game murder was dubbed as '2nd Incarnation of New Generation Madness'. Like both of Chaos Head (Chaos Child here is some sort of spiritual sequel for Chaos Head) and Steins Gate, it did have some sci-fi element and more importantly shared same setting. Get the patch from Committeeof0 homepage here (I like that Committeeof0 did their countdown at their Twitter eight days before the release), and have fun playing Chaos Child at PC there.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (06/04/2018)
Sorry for the belated VNTS Review here, and yeah it's good that we managed to have VNTS on time again. As for this week, I struggling to find the title but after did some Googling in regard of zombie anime, I decided to settled with simply parodying the zombie anime title that I find (Shikabane Hime) into 'Shikabane Office Lady' (TL Notes: Shikabane mean corpse) in which it was the profession of the woman in image header, and yes she was a zombie there (No spoiler). As for this week, well perhaps we can say that recently it's been quite lacking to said it bluntly. That said, we still have some good announcement for this week though, so let's see what I can write for this week as well.
As for this week, we have Sekai (Or rather Denpasoft which mean the VN will have H scenes obviously) announced 'I Walk Among Zombies' in which it'll depict the post apocalyptic world with our MC is immune to become zombie, while most of the population in the world is already turned into the zombies. Not quite interesting to me even with the good looking graphic and interesting premise, but what's happened behind the announcement is quite interesting. The reason is because at this week we have a user here announced that he was going to translate this, only to refuted by some members here that there's already an official project for this so obviously this VN couldn't be picked for fan translation project. I'm more convinced that Denpa here is announced this quickly in order to answer the project, because usually they would like to announced something at conventions and I think this is the first time they announced the license outside the convention.
Other than Zombie VN, we have both of Maitetsu and Starnova awaiting the approval from Steam and seeing that Steam have some controversial action that was cause by paranoia of the new law, safe to say that perhaps it'll take a while before approved - but at least it mean that those two VNs were almost ready for the release (Probably). For now I just hope that the releases would be successfully get the approval without much problem from Sekai side.
Tayutama 2 release was delayed as expected, so it's not surprising lol. No much comment on this, other than maybe I better don't much hoping that SakuraGame will have any release on time (Major translation problem in their VNs aside). We also have Neighbor was at three quarter translated, and Muv Luv Alternative 18+ patch release plan in which it'll be at sometime in this month (To me it's just a redundant release though, but if you purchase MLA from Steam and want 18+ content then good for you). From Venus Blood Frontier, we already have a date when Ninetail will launch prefundia, which is at 26th later. From Frontwing, as expected they'll have Phantom Trigger volume 5 in which it'll be depict our ninja girl Murasaki and presumably her dark past. I just hope that Frontwing will allow us to have a glimpse on Haruto's past now that they create the chapter for his childhood friend. Here's the tweet from Frontwing for the proof. For the last news, we have Tsundere Idol release in which it's just a short nukige, although considering that recently Steam was give warnings to any VN with some nudity it's quite surprising that we can still get that at Steam (Of course we can get 18+ version on Fakku as well).
From Mangagamer we have Kuroinu release, in which it's not that interesting if you're not into VNs with many hardcore sex scenes. Anyway, it was also the closing game to all of Kuroinu that Mangagamer released it beforehand, so if you want a complete Kuroinu or just want to complete it go get that from Mangagamer. However with this release came another release announcement, in which it was Mangagamer current practice that they'll announced their next release each time they release a VN. In which case it's Evenicle and the exact release date would be at 28th later, so more or less I can say that I'm looking forward to it. Also just in case some of you looking forward to Damekoi I would say that now we have Koropukkur will be released at Autumn later, then it leave Winter (Or in this case Christmas) to have Damekoi release if they still want it released at this year - although of course if they want to release it far early than may guess that I would be more than fine with that as well (I'm also looking forward to Damekoi by the way).
As of this week, we have Eustia was at 44.75% translated along with both editing and TLC progress was at 33.59%. Also after two weeks with no update because the translator was quite busy with school, finally we have Pure Pure update with current progress was at 74.41% translated for overall script while for Hinata's route it was at 89.44% translated (Still rough one for the reminder). For Harugi, right now common route for branch school was at 7% and the prologue was at 46% edited. From LxC 2, we have an update from Quof that right now he managed to finished translating Hime's route, and too bad that right now he couldn't do anything other than waiting because the image insertion is still not done yet. We also have one surprise release and it's nukige Hajimete no Okaa-san in which we have a daughter tried to woo her father after her mother dead with the result that the daughter became pregnant, and the daughter in question is still looking like underage. For the last update, we have Committee of 0 promising us that they'll deliver Chaos Child patch at this month according to their tweet. While granted that it may change, for now I think it should be good that at least we have estimation month release for Chaos Child patch, so I'm gonna keep my eyes on that.
That's all for this week, and sorry for being late here. See you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (05/27/2018)
Foreword - I'm glad that after two weeks absence we finally have proper VNTS, so here's my review for this week VNTS.
Since we have Sakura Sadist release at this week and SakuraGame announced a chunige with Norse mythology theme Fortissimo, I decided to make the title as 'Sakura Valkyrie' because we knew that usually in each of Norse mythology we should heard about the war goddess called Valkyrie, and Fortissio itself is started as the eroge with four heroines as Action Girl. Do the math. As for this week, not much happening in regard of the release here (Other than otome 7'Scarlet released by Aksys that is) but at least we still have the updates, so to me here it's just another usual week. Although there's exactly one announcement that surprising us though that we have SakuraGame announced Fortissimo, in which some people are understandably upset about the news. Let's see what I can write for this week as well.
From JAST, we have some sort of update in regard of Flowers Summer from their answer to one Twitter, in which apparently they finished with the TLC and about to do the testing. While this is good update, seeing that we deal with JAST here made me uncertain when they'll managed to deliver Flowers later. Especially when they need to do some hardcopy printing before finally release it. For the info, it was already delayed from back at January since they promised to release this at last year winter (Although if they rush the process, they could still on time for Australian winter release though lol).
As of this week, we have Eustia was at 44.04% translated. Other than Eustia, we have that finally Harugi project was added to VNTS table along with Watamasu, and for Harugi right now the branch school common route was at 4% translated with the current translated line count was at 2,032 lines. For the note in regard of Harugi, from the review that I read apparently we'll gonna have heroines that depend on which common route branch that we played. We also have Nurse Rhyme editing resume with current progress was at halfway edited after long time with no update. That's all for fan translation.
Sekai Project
Right now we have a word from Sekai that Maitetsu is back to do the QA process, although to be honest it's been there for a while beforehand. Apparently they needed to deal with the engine problem beforehand, so they forced to stall the QA for a while. Anyway now that they back on track (Pun no intended mind you) to do the QA, perhaps the release time for Maitetsu is almost near, and maybe we can get the exact date for the release at AX later if we felt overly optimistic here. As for Daybreak, apparently Sekai was need to wait for the code in order to solve the engine problem, so it'll be stalled for a while here.
For their newest announcement, Sekai decided to do their usual method to localized their announcement back at ACEN (My GF is the Mermaid) by doing Kickstarter, and right now they managed to gather 9,907 funds out of 12,000 as the target with 30 days left. While I'm not intended to play this VN unless someone bought me a Swtich, the cast there made me remember Nagisa x Kaede pair from Assassination Classroom because their seiyuu work to voicing two out of three heroines. After I read the cast, I did wonder if I should pair Ion with Petakko because of that Role Association, and more importantly Pettako's hair is also green like Kaede as well. By the way I'm surprised that the introduction managed to remember that Suzaki Aya was voiced Kaede, while unfortunately they forgot to write that Fuchigami Mai was voicing Nagisa in which he's basically the second most important character of Assassination Classroom after Koro-sensei. My Assassination Classroom rambling aside, Sekai already planned to release this by March 2019 later.
Other
So we have SakuraGame announced that they'll release Fortissimo in Chinese at Steam later. Okay not too bad I guess, although they follow up with the announcement that they'll refine the English version before finally release this. While normally this should be the good news now that we have another VN to be localized, unfortunately the mere SakuraGame name as the producer will surely made people doubt whether the VN that they translated worth to be playing or not. In case you wonder why, SakuraGame here is quite infamous with bad translation (I mean MTL level of bad), and more importantly bad public relationship skill back when Tayutama 2 was announced. As for Fortissimo itself, it's a chuuni VN that have borrow some Norse mythology element with the name like Odin, Loki, and Ragnarok, although from what I'd heard apparently it's more or less average one though compared to the like of Tokyo Babel (Don't say Dies Irae). I'd also read that apparently Lacryma here is indirectly refused NekoNyan request to localized it by not replying the request.
What I can say in regard of this is that if we based on one comment back at the thread, perhaps Lacryma themselves were pretty desperate to ask SakuraGame in order to localized Fortissimo. Considering that we knew some VNs companies in Japan goes bankrupt, I suspect that it might possible that Lacryma here is more in deep than we realized. I admit that all of these is just my conjecture here, but if we saw that back at Circus attempted to do their own OELVN Space Live back at 2017 it's quite reasonable if we think that, because it mean that back then the company was try to grab some chance to get the money. For the record here Lacryma itself is a company that formed by the joint of Circus, Broccoli, and an unknown third company (More like company with unknown release though). So I guess whatever financial problem that Circus had could be expanded to Lacryma here, and seeing that Lacryma want to expand to western market quickly, they decided to go with SakuraGame. That, and perhaps Lacryma themselves quite ignorant with SakuraGame controversy. In the end, I would like to just wait and see about this matter, and maybe I can try to read Fortissimo later to see of how chaotic the translation is lol (I admit that at least Fortissimo graphic is good looking).
Since I talked about NekoNyan earlier here, let me give the update from them first. As for their current progress, right now they managed to translated halfway of HGB, while for Sanoba they already translated 70% of it along with a quarter edited. As for my opinion here, I guess NekoNyan here put more effort to translating Sanoba instead of HGB looking from the progress, while according to their schedule they planned to release HGB first. While I admit that I'm slightly more excited to see Sanoba progress is more than HGB progress, I think it would be better if they can do more effort on translating HGB first, so that the people who wait for HGB would more looking forward to the release. It's up to NekoNyan though on whatever choice that they made in regard of their work, so I'm more or less content with this.
For the last progress, we have Frontwing announced their original VN Loca-Love. Other than we'll gonna have romance story with three girls, we still didn't have many info about this for now. Although if we look from the writer, I guess that we at least could expect some Witch Garden plot (Not that I know it lol) because the writer is also the main writer of that. The girl art here is looks too much like Shino from Coroblo, which make sense because the artist is the same one. Other than those notes, I expect that we'll know more about this VN if Frontwing decided to do their fundraising later, so let's see it later. By the way, for Loca-Love here Frontwing is already planned to release this at Autumn later.
That's all for this week, and see you next week.
PS - Fore more reason of why we have Sakura Valkyrie as the title, it was because in Fortissimo we have a character called Sakura in which if we remember Da Capo it was the main heroine name.
Beware of the spoiler above though if you interested with Fortissimo.
Visual Novel Translation Status (04/10/2018)
About the title, since we have Fureraba release back at March 30th and in this week only release we have herbalist female MC at otome VN The Bell Chime for Gold, I decided to parodying this dorama because we fure from Fureraba (TL Note: Fure mean cheer in Japanese), so we have 'Fure Fure Herbalist' as the title for this week with herbalist part is from Bell Chime - by the way the image header for this week was interestingly depicted five heroes for Bell Chime as inept adventurer party. Okay, as for this week to tell the truth it was pretty anemic in regard of fewer update, but if we think positively perhaps this week we have a break after many good releases from last two weeks (ie Tsujidou, Konosora retranslation, and Fureraba). Let's see what I can write for this week as well.
No major update from Mangagamer other than the reminder that we'll gonna have Supipara Chapter 2 released at Thursday or Friday depending on the timezone, and also we got Koropukkur successfully funded at 37,093 funded. Well too bad though that we can't get Koropukkur voiced because they still didn't have enough money gathered for that (They need to reach 80,000 fund gathered for that), but at least it should be enough for now. Also for additional note, as expected there's no backer for the most expensive pledge (At 7,500), because the reward was too exaggerated - I mean eating dinner with the illustrator was surely sounds out there, and besides I think people would be more interested to have dinner with idol singer (Although to me both of those are waste a lot of money though).
As for Sekai, other than Bell Chime, there's no interesting update from them. For Bell Chime itself, the premise was looks like a parody of the usual otome in which we have the female MC who is a herbalist work very hard in order to gain money, and after that she'll using the money to buy his boyfriend which coincidentally consist of five poor man who have a lot of debt. So more or less it's subvert very usual otome in which rather than pure love, the MC here need money to solve his love problem. Forgot to say that the heroes are not as handsome as usual otome VN heroes XD, and more importantly this is another otome VN that have sex scenes. Other than Bell Chime release, we have Nekonin 2 was in QA which mean that it's already fully translated and edited, and 2236 was already finished the QA so it's good to know that Sekai still willing to release this even though 2236 was already released for overseas by the developer themselves.
After one week with no update, we finally have another update from Newton VN with Emmy's route was at 23% translated and Haru's route was fully translated. Still no update in regard of Sakusakura though, so hopefully we'll get more on that at this month. No comment for Harem Guild other than the translation was about to be finished by April, and also the official release would be redundant) because Quof already released this back as fan translated patch. In case you're willing to wait for Tayutama 2 release, apparently it's about to be released at this month according to the Steam store (Might be just placeholder month though), but seeing that there's many issue surrounding the release (Bad translation, bad public relation, and the prequel is still untranslated) I'm not quite interested with this. We have some sort of plan for Fureraba fandisc release, in which it'll be somewhere around autumn, and they said that it'll be depend on whether Sanoba translation will coming along well or not later (NekoNyan's tweet for the proof). As for the release plan from Other section, we'll have Chuusotsu release at 24th later.
For fan translation more or less it's just usual update but before going on the updates, let me report that right now we have Motoka's route from Yosuga no Sora was at 51.62% translated - I forgot to report it last week. For the updates we have Eustia was at 38.93% translated and 26.56% edited, Higurashi Tsukiotoshi arc was at 87% translated, Musumaker was at 51.7% translated, Pure Pure Chapter 4 (Or rather I'll call it Hinata's route from now on) was at 69.72% translated and overall was at 70% translated, Shin Koihime Musou was at a quarter edited, Witch Garden was at 43% translated, and we have Harugi's (Or KaniShino's) prologue was at 41% (742 lines) translated along with 492 lines TLC-ed.
That's all for this week, and yeah we have quite belated VNTS here. See you next week, or hopefully next Monday at the latest if all goes well.
Visual Novel Translation Status (02/03/2018)
When I saw the picture of the header, suddenly I remember the scene when the same thing happened in Kajitsu as well - it was from Phantom Trigger by the way. The scene in question was titled 'Running Cadence', and in that scene Yuuji and Makina sang a song which made Amane embarrassed. In that case of the image header, I don't know though if Tohka and Rena were singing, but at least they should be running so I decided to make the title 'Running Cadence', and also I add the 'feat. Tohka and Rena' because obviously those two girls featured in the CG. Anyway, welcome to this week VNTS Review after one week of absence, and this week was quite interesting with another company enter the VN localization market with five announcements to boot. Other than that, we still have some usual updates here so let's see what I can write for this week as well.
As for fan translation, it's still usual weekly updates here. For the updates, we got Loverable was at 71.8% TLC-ed and 32.84% edited, Eustia was at 33.72% translated and 21.02% edited, Musumaker was at 47.8% translated, Witch Garden was at 37% translated, Pure Pure Chapter 4 was at 13.38% translated and overall was at 57.34% translated, and Majokoi was at 79% TLC-ed. There's also an update from LxC2 as well, in which Hina's route translation was going stable and Quof is more or less happy with that, although he afraid though that there's nothing could be done in regard of the programming, so hopefully he can find the solution in regard of the programming. For the last update here, quite unfortunate that Venus Blood Chimera translation team shut down their Patreon, but then again it's quite a grey area to ask the payment for fan translation so maybe this is for the best. Other than updates, we have another new project established with the goal of translating Tenkiame, and for the progress it's quite stable for now with common route was at 26% translated (I hope that they could go through it until the end). For Tsujidou, right now Renna's route was at 41.34% translated and overall was at 86.48% translated - looking from the current pacing I think by around April we should be able to get Renna's patch.
As for Sekai, unfortunately Fatal Twelve was delayed to March, and so does with Maitetsu - although in Maitetsu case it was stalled though, which it mean that there's no definitive time for the release. For more update, we have Nanairo was in need to waiting for the third party which hopefully it goes well for Sekai. As for their VNs that was ready for the release, not quite appealing to me except for one (Kanonana) in which I'm just a bit interested with this. They have the good news though, and it was in regard of Balder Sky which is halfway translated right now, although I don't know though if that mean that Sekai managed to translated one VN or each VN have some translated lines that the combined result was halfway of Baldr Sky lines (By the way, Baldr Sky was divided into two VNs for the info). I just hope that Sekai will improve their performance in the future, because apparently there's some discord happened between Sekai and the contributors.
Other
For Newton VN, right now Lavi's route was at 80% translated and Yotsuko's route was at 45% edited. For Song of Memory, apparently PQube managed to get the license and they already planned for Nintendo Switch release at this month, although unfortunately there's still no info in regard of Steam release at least for now.
As for the mentioned Sekai contributors, it was quite interesting that both of Akerou and Chuee of Shinku Translation formed the VN localization company with the name NekoNyan. Not only that, they announced five VNs which more or less could be said as charage. As for the reason of why they did that, perhaps they have problem with Sekai as well. While this might be just my speculation (And probably is), seeing that we have 2236 was released by Japanese company itself which gave a hint that it might be the truth that Sekai facing the problem with their contributors and the Japanese company. I said this because one of NekoNyan title was Sanoba Witch, and that title is notably 8th Yuzusoft VN whose as we know was have a deal with Sekai - it's more or less like Purple Software case. That said, what I could say in regard of NekoNyan is that we better to wait and see until they have the first release in near future, and I say this because there's some anxiety in regard of both Akerou and Chuee which as we remember worked on Hoshimemo, and it have some issue in regard of the translation.
For NekoNyan announcements, other than aforementioned Sanoba Witch (At 20% translated), there's Hello Goodbye (At 10% translated), Sukiren, Melty Moment, and Furereba (Fully translated and edited, and at 70% for both of TLC and QC). As for the release plan, they're quite ambitious with the closest one was Fureraba at March later. For my opinion about the announcements itself, I interested with both of Fureraba and Sanoba even before the announcements so those two were good announcements to me, and I just hope that they'll indeed released Sanoba at autumn later because it's mean more translated Yuzusoft VN which is always a good thing. For the rest, I'd slightly interested with Hello Goodbye (HGB) and less interested with Melty Moment, and Sukiren was pretty much in the middle between those two.
While I like that they'll release those three quickly as well - HGB will be in Summer and Melty Moment in December, unfortunately they just stated 'aiming' which mean that there's no certainty for the release and therefore there might be delays in the future, also the delays can be happen to both of Sanoba and Fureraba. Speaking about Sanoba, they also have plan for physical release as well so perhaps the delay will most likely will be happened. In the end, I hope that I'm just being paranoid here and the release was indeed according with the schedule, especially Fureraba in which if the release was indeed at March later then it would be very interesting month, because there would be three big releases in one month (Fatal Twelve, Sakusakura, and Fureraba).
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
Foreword - There's no VNTS for this week as well (In three weeks straight nevertheless which is quite a worrying record), which mean that obviously both of admin Tay and Decay were quite busy in the real life. So once again I decided to make another VNTS Review here, and hope you'll enjoy this.
To tell the truth there's almost nothing interesting in regard of VNTS from last week, so what I can say is that the last week is quite plain. Although if one want to be more optimistic, we can say that the last week is like some sort of breather in which we'll gonna have a lot of release at this week, so we can say that the last week is like calm before the storm. Anyway, welcome to VNTS Review and obviously I will try to talk about last week VNTS here. For the title, since we have both of Yotsunoha demo release and Muv Luv Alternative (MLA) 18+ patch release, I decided to parodied Chinese historical film 'The Flowers of War' in which it depict the Japanese massacre of Chinese in Nanking back at 1937. The reason of the title is that because we have a war situation in MLA, and as for clovers it was from Yotsunoha which translated as 'four leaf clover'. Regardless of what I said earlier here, let's see what I can write for this time VNTS Review.
From Sekai we finally had their fourth secret project was fully translated, and while what kind of the project is still unknown one can hope that they'll reveal their secret projects at AX later, just like Mangagamer at the last year AX. By the way, congratulation for 'My GF is a Mermaid' KS in which it managed to gathered 18,757 in which it's slightly over the original goal (12,000), even though I'm still won't play this though because I didn't have Switch - just in case you look forward for the release, the estimation release month for this VN will be at March 2019 later for the reminder. Also for the reminder we'll gonna have Maitetsu at the end of this week, so keep in mind of that if you interested with dating the android AI train thing (My interest with Maitetsu is more in regard of multiple opening though).
For fan translation, we have Eustia was at 46.7% translated, Taraimawashi (Higurashi's side story) was at three quarter translated, Shin Koihime Musou was at 95% translated, Witch Garden was at 46% translated, 216 scripts file of Oreimo Shizuku were finalized, and Harugi's Main was at 23% translated with 6% TLC-ed along with the prologue was at 70% edited. I guess that's all in regard of fan translation for now, and by the way let me tell something that we'll gonna have something interesting by this week from this section as well.
We have Sol Press released Yotsunoha demo, and as for whether the translation is accurate or not unfortunately I can't comment on that lol. But just in case you need an opinion, apparently it was still quite rough (ie still not improved) according to one source so perhaps it should be approached with open minded in regard of Yotsunoha's translation. Speaking of Yotsunoha's release date here, Sol Press decided to change the release estimation to Q3 2018 in which it's obviously get delayed, and from there I can tell of how they did overestimated their capability to get released the VNs quickly. Other than Yotsunoha demo release and the delay of the full release, we already have Newton VN finished QA process and Sol Press decided to release this as soon as they got approval from Steam, and it mean that the estimation release date is obviously unpredictable more so if we remember Steam controversial action in regard of several VNs.
As for MLA 18+ patch, what I can say is that the release itself is already redundant enough if you satisfied with Amaterasu version of MLA translation (With 18+ content in the first place). While in theory it sounds good that finally we have MLA full version with new translation, actually it didn't matter as well because the sex content in MLA is very few and one of those scenes is quite divisive to boot, so perhaps it's the best that we play MLA without sex content. Regardless of that, have fun though if you're waiting for MLA with 18+ content. Oh, we also have another otome VN announcement in which it'll depict our female MC will interact with Sherlock Holmes and Arsene Lupin (Both of them were handsome lol), and it'll be released at Autumn for both of PSV and Steam (Obviously it mean that we can play this on PC) later. Not my type of VN, but it's good that translated otome VNs keep increasing I guess.
That's all for this time VNTS Review, and see you at next week VNTS Review.
Visual Novel Translation Status (07/29/2017)
For this week title, I decided to parodying Kaichou wa Maid-sama manga because this week we had Wagahigh release and there's also the matter that both of the works were have student council president characters, although in Wagahigh the president was work as manga illustrator though instead of maid. Therefore for this week we had Kaichou wa Mangaka-san for the title, and welcome to this week VNTS Review from mine. As for this week, Tay comment about Evangile W aside it was quite interesting one considering that we had the releases from Mangagamer (Evangile W), Sekai (Wagahigh), and Frontwing (Phantom Trigger Volume 3 aka Touko's Chapter). Which mean that three most active VN localization company (For now) was managed to had same release time, and almost at the same day to boot. Other than those three, of course there's still some update so let's see what update that we had for this week.
Fan Translation
As for fan translation, so far there's only usual progress for this week. For the recap here, we got Eustia was at 18.36% translated (12.04% edited and 11.85% TLC-ed), Loverable was at 82.18% translated (Nanako's route was at 69.01% translated, along with 49.87% TLC-ed and 20.82% edited for the overall Loverable), Majokoi was at 92.22% translated, Sansha Mendan was at 97.08% translated (ie almost completed), Venus Blood Chimera was halfway translated (50.3%), and in regard of Pure Pure turned out that last week progress was wrong so I'll give the new update in which right now the chapter 2 was at 19.23% translated (Overall progress was at 19.90% translated for the whole Pure Pure). As for both of Tsujidou and Tsukiyori, I'd already reported the progress from them at last VNTS so I'll report those two new updates here later.
For more updates from fan translation, we had Witch Garden was at 28% translated, Kanobito was regressing to 3% translated - yes regressing, although the reason was apparently because there's translator change, and the new translator was decided to retranslated Kanobito. Other than those two, there's Ittaku in which he was managed to translated 96% of Anzu's route, meaning that Anzu's route and most importantly Clover's Day would be finished the translation progress. Speaking about Ittaku, there's ToHeart 2 in which there's some progress although mostly it was already in finishing touch - the detail was Sasara's route was still in proofread, QC for Yuma's route was finished and twins route was in QC progress right now, and if all of those above were finished then Ittaku will do QC for Sasara's route and finally do both proofread/QC for Ruu's route. As for Koiken Otome fandisc, unfortunately there's some real life matter that was very important for Dergonu, therefore the progress would be (Sorry) slowed down a lot although he promised that he'll try to release Shiho's route patch at this year though so there's that. For the last progress from fan translation, there's Nocturnal Illusion Renewal which right now it was at 13.7% for the second pass.
That's all for fan translation at this week.
Other
Other than Phantom Trigger, actually we had otome VN release for this week. The VN was Collar x Malice, in which it'll tell us the story of how a policewoman tried to handle a brutal case with her life as the bet. Looks interesting, although too bad that I wasn't quite interested with otome and most importantly it's Vita only.
From Frontwing there's Phantom Trogger Volume Three in which it'll tell us more about Touka and her dark backstory, which just my assumption for now although knowing Grisaia it might be the truth here. As for their next plan, while they didn't say anything in regard of the continuation I would said that if Frontwing really want to keep this format then they would be needed at least two more volumes just to tell us the characters, and some additional volumes if they want to tell us the finale like Rakuen (And Haruto's backstory like Meikyuu). For now I would like to just wait and see here, and hopefully they managed to created another volumes there so they won't disappointed Phantom Trigger fans.
By the way, other than Phantom Trigger release Frontwing was also had some saying in regard of Subahibi 18+ patch. It's about the censorship, and turned out it's the only picture that was get censored so you could still 'enjoy' of how screwed up the bestiality sex scene was in form of text. As for my opinion, I see no problem with that and I think it would be easy if someone out there want to make restoration patch seeing that it was only the CG that was censored. Although I wouldn't count too much in regard of restoration patch though, for now at least.
Mangagamer
As for Evangile W, since this is only the fandisc I think it's not that interesting to me here. Although if you like the original Evangile, then I think it should be good addition if one want to look more Vincennes (The setting) and it's students. As for the premise, well I could said that it's had some epilogue from the original four routes, with the addition of five short routes for all of the side characters (Except headmistress who apparently gotten saner in Evangile W of course). Other than that, I think it'll be full of fanservice from Evangile characters. While I didn't quite interested with Evangile W, I would say have fun if you already intended to play it (Including Tay).
Oh, and Mangagamer did had another announcement in which that they'll release Marina at August 11st. Well I would say whatever to the VN because it's just short nukige with some NTR, although I won't deny the importance of nukige release for Mangagamer though especially when it's sales helped them to license more VN in the future.
Sekai Project
As for Sekai, right now they only had one update and it was Wagahigh release. As for Wagahigh, the premise was apparently the MC (Kouki) was worked at student council because of some 'deal'. Namely that the deal was that as long as Kouki joined the council, then his secret gonna be safe. For the information here, the secret that Kouki hide was actually he is a mangaka for ecchi romantic comedy manga, and therefore he need to keep his mangaka job as the secret. After that, apparently the council was also doubled as some sort of the problem solver for the students so from there Kouki and the council decided to help more students. As for my opinion, at first I admit that I dislike the girl's boob lol because it's too big lol (It's the drawing fault actually, so maybe I should say that earlier). But since I'd heard some good opinion in regard of this VN, then perhaps I would considering to play Wagahigh later.
I think that's all for this week, and see you next week.
PS - Forgot one update here, and it's from JAST which to said was quite unusual lol. Anyway the update was fot Princess X in which right now it was in beta testing, so at least JAST was in track for Autumn release (Hopefully). Here's the tweet from them in regard of that.
PPS - As promised, I'll deliver both of Tsujidou and Tsukiyori here. For Tsujidou, right now Ai's route was almost reached halway translated with the progress was at 44.58% translated and for overall progress was at 32.8% translated. While for Tsukiyori, right now it was at 8.9% translated and 4.4% edited. That's all for the additionsl progress here.
Visual Novel Translation Status (09/03/2016)
Since we had Sakura Space for the image header and I still not sakura-fied old Macross anime here yet, so why not make 'Super Dimensional Fortress Sakura' here as the title? Obviously the anime that I parodied was very old anime Macross (Macross setting was in space by the way) once again. As for my opinion about Sakura Space releasse, whatever.
Welcome to my VNTS Review for this week. About what happening for last few days, we had something like Chrono Clock kickstarter for hard copy was launched and Aroduc was write some sort of his tantrum blog post targeted to Sekai because Sekai was kind of refusing for using Aroduc's work for Baldr Sky localization. Of course, there's some exciting stuff like Mangagamer updates here too. So let's start my VNTS Review here.
Other
Apart from Sakura Space, we also had the update from Enigma VN which according to Conjueror was already one third (33%) translated. The premise was like there's some island which like sealed from the rest of the world which afflicted by disease called enigma. I don't know if this is Conjueror secret project according to the rumor was true or not, but what I knew is that Fruitbat was planning to release this at Winter 2016. Let's see it later if they'll fulfill their promise or not here. For more info, right now Fruitbat already opened pre-order store at Steam with 25% off for Enigma.
Fan Translation
For usual progress Tsui Yuri was had retranslating progress finished; Bishoujo Mangekyou was at halfway (50%) edited, 38% QC, and 15% proofread (Arcadeotic also tease that something interesting will happen at October 10th. What is it? Let's see it later); and for Majokoi right now we had slight translating progress from last week (0.7%, bringing total translated script was at 36.9%) and 27.2% edited. Oh, and for Kanobito translation project Mitch was planning to releasing prologue patch here.
I read about poll for sex sound effect here, and I was like 'Huh?' (For the progress of the VN in question (Kurukuru Fanatic), it was at 3% edited). For my opinion here, I think nobody will care for how should sex sound was translated there ie might as well the translator stop doing pointless poll there. As for the VN itself, the user who had yandere fetish should looking forward to this. Another progress here would be from Konosora retranslation project which right now they had Ageha route was at 90% completed after long time with no update. Speaking of the project which for long time had no update, this week we had Ushinawareta (I'll shorten it to Ushieta here) translation revived, and right now they almost finished translating Airi route (87.2% translated). They also in need for another translator who willing to translated H-Scenes, because the translator didn't want to translating H-Scenes. About the VN, looks like it'll be involving astronomy school club here. I'll try to keep my eyes on this project.
I think that's all for Fan Translation segment right now, and if Luna Translation give some updates I'll add it here later.
Sekai Project
About Aroduc's tantrum, once again I think his post here was could be use as some sort of clarification that he didn't involved in Baldr Sky localization by Sekai there. What I want to said here is that even if Aroduc was heavily involved with Sekai there, it'll still take long time here if we recall Seinarukana case here (Granted it was JAST, but still). And we didn't knew of how much of translation progress from Sekai's chosen translator there. So my stance here would be just wait and see if we talk about Baldr Sky (To be frank, I didn't care for whoever will handle Baldr Sky translation here, as long as we got it in English soon or later).
Let's leave sticky issue aside here, and we had some update from Sekai here of course. First of all, for their usual update we had Maitetsu at 26.84% translated and Tenshin Rahman was at 43.02% translated here. As for Grisaia trilogy update here, we had 80% translation for unrated Meikyuu (They also planned to release this in Autumn, after finishing technical and testing that will started at this month) and for Rakuen right now it was at 64% translated. Be glad if some reader here was Grisaia hardcore fan. And for last news here, Princess Knight released was delayed again because there was many bug to fix there (Hope it'll be fast here).
For last news, Sekai launched another Kickstarter for Chrono Clock physical edition here. While the goal here was very low, let me said congratulations here for very successful Kickstarter here (46,938 gathered right now). About the comparison to Root Double here, I agree that this Kickstarter was more successful for the first days if we both looking at Root Double Kicktraq and Chrono Clock Kicktraq (To comment about real comparison here, I'll talk about it on Chrono Clock last day for crowdfunding). For more info, they also work together with Nutaku, which apparently was quite infamous because of their heavy censorship there. Although if we thinking that at some time Nutaku announced that they will be like Steam for 18+ game only, I think it kind of make sense here (Sakura Space release was already proved that). For the release date, they promised that they release it at January 2017, although looking at the translation progress here I had slight doubt like Libra (Right now it was at 32.19% translated, and if they really want to fulfill the deadline I hope it'll include editing progress here).
Mangagamer
This week we had so many update from Mangagamer here. Let me list it one by one here, but beforehand let me apologise here because I was wrong about the release of Orc Castle from last week. The truth is that Orc Castle was released few days ago here. And about Himawari, I think it was still in testing.
First of all, Funbag Fantasy was ready for pre-order with 10% off. Get it if you big breast fan here.
Kuroinu Chapter 1 was fully translated. Whatever.
Da Capo 3 still in scripting and they about to testing the demo (I'll try to play this later).
Pygmalion 72% edited. At least I'm sure that they'll finish the editing this year (Maybe).
Fata Morgana fandisc was at 33% translated.
Suki Suki was at three quarter (75%) translated and 60% edited.
For Dal Segno, finally they show the progress here. The progres was almost half of it (46.7%) translated and 28% edited.
Anyone looking forward to naked butler here? Be glad for anyone who looking forward to that because Naked Butler was at a quarter (25%) retranslated.
Boukaku was at 10% for both of editing and trandlating progress.
Sorcery Joker was at 38% translated and 28% edited.
Nyuu Jene was almost finished with both of translating and editing progress at 98%.
Finally, Hapymaher was also at almost halfway translated (46.5%) and almost a quarter (24%) edited. This week Mangagamer was showing uncensored CGs for Hapymaher. What interest me is not the CG, but apparently they did that as some sort to response Chrono Clock Kickstarter here, which probably still had the mosaic here (Not that I care about it in first place here).
That's all for Mangagamer updates here, and looking forward to Atlanta here because Mangagamer was tease us with another new partner there (Although it was not from famous VN company though, probably).
For last word here, since admin Tay asking about new table, I think it was good here, although if I may said that you better do it at year's end if you want to cover the release for whole years here (Just my opinion). That's all for my VNTS Review, and see you next week.
PS - Forgot another progress from Mangagamer here. For Imopara 2, right now it was at 74.4% translated and 42% edited.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have Ever17 announcement along with Tokyo Psychodemic release I decided to combine both into 'Lemuria Psychodemic' with 'Lemuria' word is from Ever17 original opening title, Distant Continent of Lemuria. For this week, while we have several companies announce the exact release date which is very nice, I can't say the same thing with this week releases in which it's not really interesting compared to the upcoming one. So in a way, I suppose this week is almost plain one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
I saw that Tokyo Psychodemic has a number of negative review, and apparently it indeed has some major setback with the story is apparently not closing with the last case has very bad writing, although I only know that it also have bad release time with it was initially scheduled to be released in May's end only to be delayed to the November's end (That, and it's detective game where you search the clue to solve the case). Regardless, feel free to get the VN from Steam if you want to find out the game is really bad as the reviewers mention, or maybe you can save the money to buy some other VNs later. Mangagamer was released Steam Prison FD, and from what I see it's about the casts face the new adventure in the other countries after they overcame the difficulties in the main game, although as it turned out it's still no easy matter seeing they need to navigate the problem in the new country. Go get Steam Prison FD if you want more of Steam Prison contents, and have fun.
This week we have Taima Seiko Alice is at 80% edited, and that's all for this week fan translation update. For the several companies that announce the exact release date, we have JAST, Shiravune, and Nekonyan. For Shiravune, they'll release Yakin Byouto remake on 17th later, which to say not really interested with it even though it has Ueda Metawo as the artist for the remake version with his art looks different compared to when he work on GSS or Dead End Aegis. JAST announced they'll release Yamizome Liberator on 12th later, and once again it's a game where the MC will be possessed by a demonic entity decided to help relieve his female friend burdens who work as the magical girls by raping them after he do his best to defeat them, which to say is very unorthodox way but it really works as shown in Revenger. Last but not the least, Nekonyan announced the exact release date for the well-known Hatsuyuki Sakura, in which they'll release it at the same date as Liberator (12th), and for the info it's been written by Niijima Yuu with the VN itself is a deal more serious compared to Kakenuke or Kirikoi (Feel free to note the date if you've been waiting for more a decade to see it translated).
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review and sorry for being very late here. For this week, since we have Uchi no Koibito sudden release with the premise resemble horror movie Knock Knock (The man was live together with two girls, although in Knock Knock the girls raped the man and then ruined his life) and Tamayura Mirai release from the last week with mod Clephas mentioned that it resemble Monobeno, I'd make a parody of Monobeno updated version, Monobeno -Happy End-, by changing 'Monobeno' into 'Knock Knock', so we have 'Knock Knock -Happy End-' as the title. As for this week, we have a bunch of announcements and releases, although unfortunately none of those are quite interesting to me. If anything else, at least Mangagamer announcements have good graphic, and so to me this week is more or less an average one. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week here.
There's a new fan translation group (Shinzou Translations) that translate several short VNs, with two of those are Fukyou no Hana and Hikage no Himari. I can only say that good for the group if they manage to working on their favorite VNs, even with the VNs are the short one. We also have Dei Gratia full translation patch release, and yes by Dei Gratia I mean the VN that Lemnisca was decided to scrapped the localization plan after their KS with the base goal 57,000 dollars failed (The link to the patch). The premise is still in regard of several people who were trapped inside a closed room like in Ever17 (Which make sense considering Dei Gratia here is some sort of Ever17 tribute), and said closed room is in the sinking submarine 700 meters below the surface with the unknown threat at the depth of the ocean. Go get the translation patch if you want to play this ever since Lemnica announced the KS plan for this, and have fun.
For this week fan translation updates, we have ChuSingura is at 24.72% translated with the translated lines passed 20,000 lines mark, Tsuma Netori is at 20% edited, H2O is at 60.2% edited, Senmomo is at 98.42% edited with side stories is at 94.47% edited, and Akagoei FD is at 40.23% edited along with 24.14% QA-ed. That's all for this week fan translation updates.
While this is not VN news, may as well mention that Nekonyan will release Lorena on 26th later. Speaking of release, we have both Aksys and Cherry Kiss released Koinegau and Oppai Samurai respectively. Koinegau here is about a female MC who live in Edo era can see the black thread that will be followed by a disaster and thus be shunned by the villagers, which of course eventually lead her to have a romance with one of six handsome heroes. Go get Koinegau if you want to play it and have Switch (Because it's only available on Switch). As for Oppai Samurai, once again it's about a very famous demon slayer who've been forced to have sex with nobody, and it also has interesting description courtesy of Cherry Kiss translator. Go get Oppai Samurai if you're interested with it, and have fun.
Shiravune announced they'll release another nukige from Appetitie with the localized title Queen of the Otaku, and they already have the exact release date for it in which it'll be on July 18th later. Other that announce the new title, Shiravune released Kuroinu Redux with them had all characters in silhouette on top of cutting the contents leaving the prologue alone in Steam version, which is understandable considering Valve can be very random when it come to ban even with the game that has less explicit contents. From what I hear apparently it has new contents, although in the end it's still redundant anyway. If anything else, at least people can purchase the whole Kuroinu in cheaper price seeing that Mangagamer release it in three parts with each parts price is at 25 dollars.
Sekai manage to be predictable by announced both of Animal Trail FD and Animal Trail 2 back in Anime Central, and at least the graphic for both are good seeing that Unless Terminalia (The VN from the same company) won the Best Graphic Award back in Getchu 2022. Oh yes, Sekai already had both are fully translated and edited with them currently wating the build for both. For the other updates, Sekai also has Imuto no Seiiki was in QA which mean they manage to get the engine, and lastly we have Amairo Chocolata 2 being approved by Valve with Sekai currently doing the testing for it.
Mangagamer announced two VNs, with the first one is the aforementioned Uchi no Koibito that Mangagamer was suddenly released on Anime Central. For the premise, this time instead of living with either his childhood friend or little sister, the MC live together with two girls who work at the cafe that the MC frequent because their home was burned down, and obviously it'll lead the MC to eventually have the romance with two girls with them occasionally do threesome. With this, now we have Uchi trilogy available in English, so go get the VN if you interested with it and have fun. The second one is Nightmare x Vampire in which it's possibly Mangagamer's secret project with the progress is fully translated and edited, and this time we have the vampire girl Rei who at first have rivalry with Setsuna (The first Nightmare series MC) before finally respect each other capabilities. Obviously, we'll going to have Rei got raped as per Nightmare series.
Mangagamer also has several updates with the most significant one is Sona-Nyl finally in testing, which if we know that it's been announced from all the way back in 2016 it mean that the wait for is is almost over. Speaking of testing, Mangagamer also mentioned that they almost ready to do the testing for Raillore. For the rest of the updates, we have Rance 03 is at 48% translated along with 29% edited, Rance X is at 56% translated along with 5% edited, Funbag Fantasy is past halfway (51%) translated along with 49% edited, and Eve of December is at 91% translated along with 8% edited.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (11/08/2024)
First of all, Nasu still not released the expansion of the FGO with the name 'The Origin' despite that it would be cool for the player to play the story based on the original Fate, But instead it's because we have Fate/Stay Night remastered released, so I just add 'The Origin' in which it's also what Sunrise called the remake version of the very first Gundam (Gundam: The Origin). Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week we have several releases with the biggest one is obviously Fate/Stay Night Remaster. Other than that, we have Sekai gave us several updates with the notable one being Harukuru's update, and also two more Escude VNs announced by two different publishers. Overall while in theory this should be the exciting week, I feel that it's more or less an above average one. With that done, let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
For the Escude VNs which I just mentioned, there's Houkago Education announced by JAST and Sennagi announced by DL Site with both VNs have a number of sex scenes. For Houkago Education, we have one student of the all boys school was somehow manage to getting close into seven teachers thanks to said students attending the remedial lessons from those teacher, and before you wonder if Escude suddenly make BL VNs all of the seven teachers are girls. So basically you'll going to have date with the teachers, who despite the staffs obviously design them like usual high school students heroines are quite competent in many fields. Speaking of JAST, they just announced they'll release one of their title from AX (Seira) on 24th later. For Sennagi, actually it has been announced for a while, and I can only mention it as 'Beat Blade Haruka with Narika's VA voicing the main (And single) heroine and all of Noroi's cadres are cute girls'. The premise is no much different from Haruka, with Himeka was engage in sexual ritual as the way to obtain the power to fight the demon, and thus Himeka and the MC Souma do a lot of sex in order to save the world from the demons.
Cherry Kiss released their nukige in which it's about the MC who want to have sex with his mother's best friend, and no much to say other than the MC will get his wish fulfilled along with it's the first VN from Orcsoft that Cherry Kiss published after all of their previous nukige are from Miel. Go get the VN if you want to play some nukige in case you like the art (Personally it's not quite appealing to me, but to each of their own), and have fun. Frontwing released Revue Starlight VN, and from what I remember about the anime it's about the female students who doing very dramatic play backed up with very dramatic story (Like Lupercalia) along with the anime has some GL subtext. I would say that I didn't have very high opinion on the VN which adapt the story from the other media, although at least the original writer involved in the VN writing, so there's that. Go get the VN if you want to see more Revue Starlight franchise, and have fun.
Sekai just gave us several updates, with those updates are Sheol was in review by Valve (Good luck to that), Chiisana Kanojo is fully translated along with 65% edited, Wagahigh FD is at a quarter translated, Amairo Chocolata 3 is fully translated along with 15% edited, and last but not the least we finally have Harukuru in QA which mean Sekai finally got the engine from the developer so hopefully we'll see its release in the near future. We also have Shiravune announced Criminal Border Part 3 which has the story goes even darker, and it'll be release sometimes in this year. For fan translation updates, we have Akagoei 3 is at 89.22% edited, Majikoi Ryouken After is fully edited, and Ushieta is fully translated with the translator will be focusing on the image editing work.
Lastly we have Fate/Stay Night release in which it's arguably the biggest release. I said arguably because technically speaking it has almost complete feature, such as voices and upgraded graphics. Granted the sex scenes are not in the Steam version, but it didn't matter anyway. It also has bugs, although it quickly taken over of after it goes viral. That said, technically speaking it's redundant release, because we already have it since 2008 courtesy of Mirror Moon. Granted some people mention on how Mirror Moon translation didn't really capture on the beauty of the prose that Nasu want to convey, but at least Mirror Moon provided the translation patch to anyone else who just want to read the story and didn't care much about the prose. For the story, it's about Shiro who has hero complex was dragged into the battle royale between the mages with each mages can summon their familiars (Servants) with Shiro somehow summoned Saber who said to be the strongest Servants. Go get Fate/Stay Night if you've been waiting for it (And spamming Mangagamer's survey with it) or want to see the other translation of the prose, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
So anyone else think that Saya no Uta Steam trailer soundtrack is more fitting as techno song in which it's fitting for dance instead of a trailer for horror VN even with it available in the VN soundtrack? I do (Hence the title for this week VNTS Review) and I felt that it make the trailer is quite narm instead of being scary, so much that I felt that it's very funny. I know that it's the remix of the old trailer song, but it's not like they couldn't use the old song from the trailer there. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review and since apparently Decay was still busy and thus no VNTS, I'll make a review without VNTS here. As for this week, well actually I didn't quite like that there's many delay here, although if the circumstances are very severe I guess it can't really be helped here. If anything, at least there's still some updates and the releases. Anyway let's see what I can write for this week here.
As for Saya no Uta remake, other than unfitting trailer song I would say that the release itself is quite redundant because we already have this released twice (And I'm sure that JAST wouldn't change the translation here). While granted it's a HD one, I think most of the people couldn't be able to tell the difference if they use the older laptop (To me the older version is still enough). If anything, at least now that it's available at Steam so if the people prefer Steam to buy the VN then they can buy it from there. Otherwise we can treat this as another redundant release from JAST and wait for JAST to fulfill their promise in regard of their more interesting releases (ie Sumaga, Kimikoi, and Flowers Autumn), which is quite difficult to fulfill if there are many other circumstances such as the problem in the hardcopy factory if they still insist to releases the new releases alongside the hardcopy and thus inevitably delay the releases.
From fan translation here, we have Eustia was at 37.99% translated with Eustia's chapter was at 23.22% translated. Other than usual Eustia's update we have Miotsukushi Omote was at 6% translated and more importantly we have Watamasu was fully translated, although it would still take some time before the release though because the editing and QC progress was still at 0% (I assume that the team would certainly take care of that as well).
To be honest I didn't really like when Sekai announced the release date only to have them delay it for a week here (From 10th to 16th), and that case is happened at Nine 2. And not to mention the reason is quite hard to accept there, in that apparently because we have Comiket. I know that the developer probably attend Comiket, but I think Sekai here is really need to pay attention to that event beforehand before announce the release date, so that the people who already anticipate the release at that date didn't really need to be disappointed to see the release being delayed. I guess there's nothing will change if I rant here, so let's just say that it's good that Sekai here also have Zombie VN 2 release. While granted it's still serial VN and that the premise is still a post apocalypse world where the zombies roam around, at least now that I take a look at it the graphic is really looking good here. So go get the Zombie VN 2 from Denpasoft if you've been looking forward to it for a while (There's no Steam release here), and have fun.
Almost forget to inform that Steam apparently was going berserk again by removing Loca Love from their store, but apparently the reasons is because it did have rank Adult Only and yet the setting was at the high school. I know that the reason here is quite flimsy, although knowing Valve was quite dislike VNs with school setting that have sex scenes safe to say that it might be what Valve have for the reasoning. In any case, let's see whether they still can release Loca Love 2 at this month or not and hopefully they'll be able to find a new store to sell it.
Speaking about store, we have poor Mangagamer struggle with their busted deal in regard of the payment processor. I don't really know though on how that work for them, other than it's obviously very inconvenience for them that so much they need to delay Haretaka release which to say was quite a downer. There's a lot to speculate in regard of the busted payment processor here, and more importantly the last time it's happen is back at 2016 in that it also force Mangagamer to delay Haruka release for a month. In any case, for now I just hope that Mangagamer will find a solution for their problem and released Haretaka afterward, and possibly not to let this happen again in the future.
Forced Haretaka release delay aside, at least we have a lot of updates from Mangagamer here. As for the updates, we have Uchikano was at 87% translated along with 11% edited, Funbag Fantasy 2 finished the testing, Sona-Nyl was at 20% edited, Sideboob 2 was about to enter the testing, Magic and Slash was at 58% edited, image editing for Escalayer was finished, Mugen Renkan was at 86% translated and 64% edited, 01 was at quarter edited, 02 was at 93% translated and WanNyan was at 70% edited. That's all for Mangagamer's updates here.
As for Aokana, it's too bad though that it's also delayed as well although seeing that they got almost 1,200 backers they probably need some time to prepare the Backerkit (At least a month). There's also the matter that Aokana was in review at Steam, which would be took some time seeing that they deleted HGB and more recently Loca Love 2 so it's possible that they would tightening the review process (I just hope that the review process will be going well). So in any case, for now we can at least expect September's end release to be safw. Like Mangagamer, Nekonyan here also have some updates in that they have Aokana was fully translated along with 90% edited, Hello Lady was at 80% translated along with 65% edited, Makeover was at halfway translated and edited, and Senren Banka was at 35% translated and edited. Also like both of Mangagamer and Sekai, Nekonyan here also have secret projects and this time they add two more. For the progress, we have the engine for the 1st project was worked on by the developer, 2nd was at a quarter translated and edited, and 3rd was at 7% translated and edited.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and sorry for being late here. See you next week.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have Select Oblige along with Shuuen no Virche fandisc, I decided to make a parody of Select Oblige opening song, Path to Glory, by changing "Glory" into "Recoil" because Shuuen no Virce fandisc full title is Shuuen no Virche -EpiC:lycoris- which remind me of Lycoris Recoil anime, so we have "Path to Recoil" as the title. For this week, the biggest news to me are in regard of Select Oblige release (Despite some shortcoming) and Sousaku Kanojo trial translation patch released, so it's more interesting compared to what we have at the last week. Overall, I can say this week is almost interesting one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it below.
I knew Mangagamer have Dead Days released back in October 31st in which I forgot to wrote about it last week, although seeing Shiravune also already have the exact release date for Nemurenu (Another Clockup VN) at December 10th later, I figure that I'll talk about it now. For Dead Days itself, it's about a group of people who supposed to be dead woke up in a strange place with they must play a game if they want to survive. However, the game is not easy seeing they need to hunt the specters in order to eliminate it, and more importantly they need to face their own raging libido (So there will be a lot of sex scenes) along with the feeling of dread for battle and running out borrowed time. So in essence it's more like The World Ends With You, just with a lot of sex and being written by Silverio trilogy writer. Once again it's not my taste, but people may been waiting for this, so feel free to get it if you're the one who waiting for this.
Aksys released Shuuen no Virche fandisc with it depict the after stories for the heroes route, and apparently it's quite long with several ending are quite happy compared to the one in the main game. What I can say is that there's no Steam version of it, so you can only play this if you have Switch. Still feel free to get it if you have Switch and want to read more Shuuen no Virche. For fan translation updates, we have Taima Seiko Alice is at 85% translated, and Sousaku Kanojo trial translation patch was released with it only cover two chapters of the full game. That said, it's still quite substantial, seeing the two chapters alone is consist around five hours of gameplay. Feel free to get Sousaku Kanojo trial if you want to see the translation before Shinzou release the full patch at the next year, and have fun.
Hikari Field manage to release Select Oblige on time, which is quite nice, although unfortunately it has bad translation, or as some people say unedited translation. While admittedly it's just three months old VN which mean the translator would have at most three months to deliver the translation (Usually the whole translation process would take more than three months), it's too bad the end product to be like that. Still, at least it's quite an improvement compared to when they tried to translate Tayutama 2, which itself is quite questionable decision because they just skip the prequel. Translation issue aside, in Select Oblige we have Nagi who live in a slum receive a ticket to enroll a very prestigious school, and so Nagi being poor person need to deal with the discrimination in the school before coming out of the top. I knew that Select Oblige didn't have good reception like Hamidashi, but seeing Sekai didn't have the best track record on holding its license it's nice to have Select Oblige in English even with its translation issue (Feel free to get it if you want to), and if anything else at least the character designs are quite nice courtesy of Yuzuna Hiyo who was designed several heroines in minori VNs before their bankruptcy.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
As for this week VNTS Review, because we have Heaven Burns Red released with the main artist is Yuugen who is one of the artist of Atelier Mysterious tetralogy, I made title as 'Atelier Ruka" The Alchemist of Mysterious Heaven' with Ruka as the MC of Heaven Burns Red (And female) and Heaven is from the title (Duh). As for this week, while we didn't have the release with the bad translation like when we have Select Oblige (I seriously hope Hikari Field will improve their translation if they want to do more in the future), I can't say this week is interesting seeing we only have Cherry Kiss nukige with admittedly interesting premise. Granted there's aforementioned Heaven Burns Red release, although it was gacha game which mean the game is still ongoing and I generally avoid it. Still, may as well talk about it later. Overall, this week is below average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
In Heaven Burns Red, we have the world was overrun by hostile creature called Cancer (Which to say is quite on the nose) that can't be harmed by conventional weapon leaving half of the Earth was razed. Overtime, the humanity developed a weapon that can damage the hostile creature called Seraphim with said weapon can only be fully mastered by the human who lack Y chromosome (Female), which is why all of the Seraph wielder are all girl. One of such girl, Ruka is the one who like to throw herself to fight Cancer. While the gameplay is like usual gacha game with you'll pulled a ticket in order to get the new girl, apparently the story is noted to be quite good courtesy of Jun Maeda. Well if anything else, at least it's good that KEY didn't just make their own franchise into gacha game like Type Moon and Frontwing did even though they still add Angel Beats characters (For now), and feel free to get Heaven Burns Red if you're interested with it.
We have Cherry Kiss nukge released with the English title Magical Gyarus Milk Me for Mana, and it show the premise of the game enough. Or if you want some description, in here we have the MC house was somehow become the hang out place for three big breasted gyaru who like to talk some stuff from the anime such as 'power spot' or 'magical energy'. One day, the MC was run an errand for the trio before he was attacked by a monster, and then the trio of magical girl come to fighting it. Long story short, the MC was somehow manage to help the magical girl won the battle, and in the next day the trio gyaru revealed they're the magical girl trio with the MC have the power to powered up the magical girl through sex (Of course). Go get the nukige if you interested with it, and have fun.
This week we have Sakura no Uta is at 33% translated, with Abend is at 88% translated, both Olympia (Rin's route) and Pica Pica (Makoto's route) are at 2% translated, and A Nice Derangement of Epitaphs (Shizuku's route) is at 33% translated. For the rest of fan translation updates, we have Chaos Head Love Chu Chu was fully translated, Majikoi A Plus Disk is at 20.62% translated, Taima Seko Alice is almost fully translated at 95% translated, and Sousaku Kanojo is at 21% edited. That's all for this week fan translation updates.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have Since Memories released with the artist did design the characters for Aquatope anime (Which to say I immediately recognize her art), I made the parody of Aquatope full title, The Aquatope on White Sand, with I changed 'on White Sand' into 'Starry Sky' with it from Since Memories English full title, so we have 'The Aquatope on Starry Sky' as the title. For this week, well there's less updates compared to the last week, with one of the interesting highlight is Hikari Field decided to localized newest Madosoft VN, Select Oblige, into English. Other than that, there's obvious Since Memories release and a few updates from Sekai. Overall, this week is kind of an average one, and let's see what I can write about it.
For this week, we only have one fan translation updates, and said update is in regard of QA work for Akagoei 3 in which currently it's at 22.37% done. Nekonyan also has some interesting progress for one of their project, in which they already start the QA work for Hatsusaku (Hopefully it mean they already done with the porting work of it). Speaking of Nekonyan, their usual partner Hikari Field decided to localized newest Madosoft VN, Select Oblige, into English by themselves. While usually they take care of Chinese localization for Nekonyan VNs, they did plan two English releases in the past with one of those is Tayutama 2 (Which infamously had bad translation in the trial). As we can see, it should be obvious they still not released Tayutama 2 in English yet, although seeing now they have exact release date for it (November 8th) hopefully this time they manage to deliver the English release, which if Hikari Field manage to do it then they're automatically better compared to Sekai when it come to localize Madosoft VN. Speaking of Sekai, we have some updates with Nekopara 5 is in translation, Wagahigh FD is at 45% translated, and Amairo Chocolate 3 is fully edited with Sekai now starting the programming work for it.
Lastly, after many years of not localizing their charage series VN Memories Off, Mages finally localized Since Memories in English with said VN is the part of Memories Off series. For Memories Off itself, it's the long runner series of charage from KID before it change to Mages after KID's bankruptcy, and for the info in Western KID is more famous for Infinity Trilogy even with Never7 has charage element from Memories Off. For Since Memories, it's about Jun'ya who still feel guilty about his older brother death suddenly told by a mysterious girl that he should be the one who die. Some times after, Jun'ya took a project to renovate the house of his childhood friend Chihaya who happen to be a high class lady. Seeing Jun'ya didn't have knowledge to renovate high class house, he'll obviously need some helps and of course he need to get out of his depression stage to ask for help. Go get Since Memories if you're curious about the first translated Memories Off series, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (10/09/2023)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have both H2O and Anonymous Code release I decided to change 'Sand' from H2O full title (H2O -Footprints in the Sand-) into 'Code', so we have 'Footprints in the Code' as the title. As for this week, I can say that it's an interesting one, especially with the fan translation has several releases. Other than that, we also have Anonymous Code in that it's the newest entry of Science Adventure series. Other than those two releases, we also have several release announcements. Anyway, let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
Craftwork delayed their Geminism release to November 24th with their reason is they want to make the work in perfect condition or something like that. Sekai announced they'll release something on 22nd later, although it's just their little sister succubus nukige. Well, at least their backlog is decreased again. Shiravune announced that they got the license for Criminal Border after posting the very obvious hint with the picture of Meryl (One of Criminal Border heroine). For the info Criminal Border is the serial VN from Purple Software with the core staffs are the one who work on Nine, although unfortunately Tsubasu is not working with them but instead they work with the new artist (Not the usual Purple Software artist), so I can only say that I need to get used to the art in that I keep thinking so ever since Purple Software reveal it. Oh yes they already have the exact release date for the 1st part, and it'll be on November 14th later.
We have a surprise release of the translation patch for the VN Gensou Rougoku no Kaleidoscope in which it's Ryukishi07 VN with the Itaru Hinoue as the artist (Her art is not as bad as Koropokkur), and this time Ryukishi try to write four girls got trapped in a death game. The game master give two choice to the girls, in which they'll either see everyone or one of them dead. The other thing that I know is that it's quite underrated and it's only for console (PSV and Switch), so feel free to try the VN if you have the console and want to read more Ryukishi's work. For the updates, we have Tsuma Netori is at halfway edited, Haruka no Sora Kozue's route is at halfway translated along with the overall VN is past three quarter (77%) translated and TLC-ed, 1629 out of 2499 script files for Fate/Extra CCC are edited, and Akagoei 3 is at 52.04% translated. As for Majikoi A-5, it's the last part of Majikoi A and with this now Majikoi A is fully translated so good for Majikoi fans.
I did mention that we would have H2O release in this month, although I didn't know if the translator would release it in last Friday. H2O is the VN from way back in 2006 with the anime adaptation available, and for the premise we have Takuma who is blind ever since his mother death move the rural village in order to allow himself to move onfrom his mother's death. In the village, he met the rude Hayame, the kind Hinata, and the mysterious Otoha, and Takuma somehow has his blindness gradually recovered the more he interact with the three heroines. Oh yes, the patch also translate the fandisc (Root after and another) with said fandisc add some more contents, such as the route for some side characters with one of said character is a trap (Interestingly enough the MC for the trap route is female, which to say is quite unique), and most prominently the some sort trial of Sakura no Uta that SCA-JI would have a lot of problem finishing it until 2015. Anyway get H2O if you want to play old VN from Makura which should be good as long you didn't expect another Subahibi or Sakura no Uta, and have fun.
Lastly we have Anonymous Code released, and said work is the sixth game of Science Adventure series in which it had go through rewriting six times. It should also be mentioned that other than console it also available for PC, so at least you can play it if you have PC but didn't have the console. Oh yes it also has English dub, and from what I hear it's definitely far better than Taisho Alice dub lol (Although to be fair Somnium duology English dub are quite good). For the premise we have the world in 2037 still reeling after the disaster called Sad Morning in 2036, and one of the people who live in such world is Pollon who is well known hacker and has imaginary fiancee with the name Aizaki Momo. One day after his prank goes wrong, he find a girl with animal costume who has the same name as his imaginary fiancee was in problem. Seeing that Pollon is like to help someone, he decided to help Momo even though it may risk his life, if not for the gadget that allow him to do Save and Load (So yeah there'll be some Fourth Wall Break here) that he somehow gained. Go get Anonymous Code if you want the newest Science Adventure, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (17/09/2023)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title because we have the update from Ginharu in regard of Yuzuki's route along with H2O release that also has the initial SCA-JI version of Sakura no Uta, I made a parody of the anime Yume-iro Patissiere by changing 'Yume' into 'Sakura' so we have 'Sakura-iro Patissiere' which sounds like Sakura-iro Dreamer VN lol. Oh yes, for the patissiere part it's because Yuzuki's dream to be the great patissiere in order to be like her late father who is a pastry chef (Patissiere mean female pastry chef). As for this week, while we have a number of announcements and releases, I can only say those are quite small, with the biggest update to me is obviously in regard of Ginharu. Overall, this week is an average one and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
Sekai has several updates, with the most prominent one is they delayed Usonatsu release because they need to finishing its QA work in which currently is at 30% done. Other than Usonatsu delay, we also have both of Animal Trail (The FD and 2nd game) are apparently just starting the QA work and Nie no Hakoniwa is at halfway edited. Speaking of Nie no Hakoniwa, apparently this VN is bigger than what the illustrator (Sayori) usually work, although whether it'll be true or not we'll see. Frontwing finally have the release date for Ginka, and said date will be on October 26th later. Cherry Kiss is about to release yet another nukige with married women working on cafe to help their husband pay the debt, and they'll release it on 22nd later.
Succulent decided to localize two of their own VN, and from what I see the company specialty is short 18+ Otome VN. The first VN is Tsuki no Onna, Kawa no Tenshi, Kami Meku Toki (Or Tsuki no Onna for short) with the story is the female MC met a handsome serial killer and have the romance (By the way the MC breast is very big so much that it can rival the heroine in Milk Factory). The second is Hime no Rakuen with the MC being dominant against the two heroes, or in other word it's otome VN with femdom which is very rare. Both are still not have the release date, so let's just wait and see.
We have two releases from fan translation. The first one is yet another small VN from Shinzou Translation with the translated title is The Saddest Smile in the World that has the premise a pachinko addict encounter a girl in the part who want some sweets, and some times after that both started to know each other. For the second release it's Shiina Mahou no Himitsu or in English it should be Shiima Mahou Secret. The premise of the VN goes like we have the MC who live in a rent apartment with the titular Shiina Mahou as the landlady, and one day the MC find out her deepest secret. Namely that she's a doujin author who specialized in drawing erotic manga, which of course embarrassed her very much. Of course, the MC didn't really mad at her work but instead he support Mahou's secret job, and from there both of the MC and Mahou will do a lot of sex in the name of material research.
For the rest of fan translation updates, we have Tsuma Netori is at 55% edited, ChuSingura is at 31.54% translated, past three quarter of Fate/Extra CCC (2035 out of 2499 script files) are edited, and Akagoei FD is at 53.51% translated. Last but not the least, Yuzuki's route of Ginharu finally saw QA progress (Or in their word 'under QA'), which mean that at least we already have it fully edited, so at least this should be the last step before finally we have Yuzuki's patch released. Realistically speaking we may have it released in 2024, although I hope that Daybreak can release Yuzuki's patch around Christmas just like Mizuha's patch. Speaking of Mizuha's route, Daybreak already released the update for Mizuha's patch so you can download the update if you didn't like the rough experience of reading her route.
That's all for what I can say in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (09/10/2022)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have H2O new translation project announced along with Chaos Head Noah released, I'd make a parody of H2O full title 'Footprint in the Sand' (Also the other name of the Footprints poem) by changing 'Sand' into 'Delusion', so we have 'Footprints in the Delusion' for the title (For the info, delusion here is the main theme of Chaos Head and obviously it's still apply in Noah). For this week while I can see this is an active one seeing that we have a number of releases along with the new project announced, unfortunately the circumstance behind the released VNs here can't make me think that this is an exciting week, so instead overall I can only say that this is just an above average week. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
As you can see Valve decided to revoke the ban for Chaos Head Noah for some reasons, and as the result we have this released on PC as well which mean we finally have the definitive version of Chaos Head in PC. But just because it's finally released didn't mean that the problem is resolved, because turned out that there's a lot of mistranslation that can reduce the immersion or something like that, and so obviously the fans has the right to be wary about it. Of course though that our Committee of Zero here is willing to fix all of the mistakes in Noah, and so with Valve revoke the ban of Noah they can put the focus on fixing those mistakes with the planned release estimation will be within this month. As for the premise, well it's more or less Chaos Head with the addition of the routes for the heroines that add more to the setting. Go get Noah if you've been holding out playing Chaos Head since 2009 (Or perhaps wait a bit longer for the patch), and have fun.
We finally have updates from Mangagamer, but before going to that we have Cherry Kiss did release the isekai nukige with two goddess as the heroines, so you can get it if you like the VN that has the premise the MC has sex with two goddess of the other world and have fun. For Mangagamer's update, the most notable one is that we have Rance IX was finished the testing and right now they working on the post-testing scripting of it. Nightmare x Sisters here is also entering post-testing scripting, so perhaps both of it and IX are almost ready for the release. We also have Mangagamer prepared both of Lkyt and Raillore testing, Hentai Public Service was in testing, Sona-Nyl bonus content was 95% integrated, Funbag Fantasy 2 is at 33% translated along with 32% edited, and Rance X translation progress was regressed to 47% which turned out is because the translator find out some hidden new lines along with he decided to use different way to count the progress (The translator's tweet for more info).
From fan translation, we have Chronos is at 55% translated, Yosuga no Sora is at 64% TLC-ed along with past a quarter (27%) edited, Senmomo is at 73.49% edited with Chapter 5 is at 85.01% edited, ChuSingura is at 13.46% translated, and Eustia is at 98.52% in programming with Licia's chapter is at 92.13% in programming. As for H2O new translation project, it's established by Imaimo translation team and currently it's been at 22.1% translated with Hayami's route is at 45.1% translated. For the info H2O is the old Makura VN with Makura itself is the company behind Subahibi developer, which mean obviously SCA-JI involved in H2O development. The team will use the complete version that included the side story Root After and Another (So the complete version here is more or less like Hello Lady Complete Edition (Duh)), although I still call it as H2O for simplicity sake.
Lastly we have Harugi patch released, although instead of full translation patch we only have 4 out of 6 routes are translated with the remaining two routes are untranslated. While I understand that why the translator didn't want to do it seeing that the remaining two routes are quite average according to the translator along with the difficulty to recruit the translator to translated the remaining two routes, in the end I can only say that I understand if some people feel regret toward the rest of two untranslated routes even with the circumstances aside. Anyway for the premise we have our MC Tsukasa as the teacher who got the job to teach in the high class school, although turned out that the school that Tsukasa teach is the branch school with the location is in the remote area along with the students that isolated from the rest of the world for some reasons. Go get Harugi translation patch if you want more Pulltop VN that still has the sex scenes and didn't mind that it's partially translated, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week I think I can say that it's still an active one like last week with two (Short) VNs being released by Aniplex back at 19th. Other than Aniplex VNs, we also have some updates from both fan translation and Sekai along with two sudden VNs releases. Overall while I did say that this week is still an active one, it's slightly less compared to the last week. Anyway let's see what I can write for this week, and I'll explain the title at PS later.
Once again we have Irotoridori update from Sol Press, in that we have that was at almost finished with 98% translated along with 87% edited. We also have Sekai did announced their four new secret projects, although looking back when their secret project could be not available for English at first like Amairo Chocolata or might be one on non-VN I wouldn't trust the projects until they reveal it (For the record their third secret project was at 60% translated). For the remaining updates from Sekai, we have Nine Episode 3 was at 40% translated, Amairo Chocolata was fully edited, Kimagure was at 40% translated, and Island Diary was fully edited. I'll just hope that they'll reveal the secret projects at AX Lite latter (If they decided to attend it), and that's all for Sekai's update.
From fan translation we have Eustia was 90.31% translated with side stories was at 37.13% translated, new fragments from Matsuribayashi PS3 version was fully translated, 6,637 out of 43,896 lines from Pure x Connect was edited, Taimainin Yukikaze 2 was at 70% translated, and Kud Wafter all age was at 71.4% translated. We also have a sort of update from Tsurezure in that Irru did say that they still working on it, albeit not like before because each of the members did being busy. More importantly Irru did say that his goal is to release Momiji's patch by this month (June), so let's see if we'll be able to see it released or not at 30th later.
For the aforementioned sudden releases, we have both of Kirakira Star Idol Project Nagisa and Palais de Reine. I don't know much about Kirakira Star Idol Project Nagisa other than it's a VN with the setting of idol industry where the MC is the idol manager, although I know that Palais de Reine developer itself is KOGADO. As for Palais de Reine, while we have female MC we won't have another GL VN like Nurse Love duology or Yumeutsutsu, but instead we'll going to have the female MC having a romance with one of several male love interests (Apparently the number of love interests is seven). Yes Palais de Reine itself is an otome VN, and in this case we also have the goal to gain the trust from all of the people in her kingdom seeing that she's basically still not prepared to rule the kingdom and yet she must do it seeing that her older brother is missing and her father is already passed away. Not quite interesting to me as of now, but if you like otome VN with the focus of building the kingom then you can get it at Steam and have fun.
Like I say earlier, we have Aniplex decided to enter VN market and back at 19th they released both of their first two VNs. Seeing that Sony recently being infamous for the excessive censorship and that Aniplex is a part of Sony, we should know well that there's no way that those two VNs will contain sex scenes even in the original version, so you shouldn't worry about the censorship. I'll try to talk about Adabana first, in that it's the 6th Liar-soft VNs to be translated after Inganock, Sharnoth, Forest, Gahkthun, and Yurirei. For the premise, we have a pair of mysterious male warrior Kurofude and an amnesiac girl Shirohime who trapped in the realm called Adabana. Together they'll travelling through the Japanese folktales in that some of those did have distortion and their task is to fix the distortion, and from there hopefully they'll be able to solve the mysteries that surrounds them. If you interested with dabana thanks to Liar-soft usual art, you can get it from Steam and have fun (Although apparently Sony did block this on Europe for some reason).
About ATRI, I know that the writer is Kono Asta who did write two Pulltop's VNs that was released for overseas censored (Konosora and Miagete), SCA-JI also work at this, and that the developer of this VN is Frontwing. While I admitted that I'm interested with whether Frontwing will work together with SCA-JI (And Makura) again to localize Sakura no Uta or not, actually ATRI itself did have some interesting concept in that the setting is basically a drowned Earth with only a small part of land was habitable. Although our focus obviously wouldn't talk about the drowned Earth much though, but rather we'll going to have our MC Natsuki who somehow find a robot girl in underwater laboratory who was apparently a relic from the past. The robot girl itself has a name, and the name is Atri. From there Atri decided to serve Natsuki as a way of returning the favor for salvaged her from underwater. In any case, you can get ATRI from Seam if you interested with it and have fun, and at least Aniplex here didn't block ATRI for Europe unlike Adabana.
That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.
PS - For this week title, I parodied SmPC movie and that I changed 'SmPC' with 'Adabana' and 'picture book' with 'Japanese folktales', because both works are basically have the characters getting lost in the chaotic story and it's up to the characters to fix the problem.
Welcome to this week VNTS Review. As for the title, because we have both of Meiji Tokyo Renka and Melty Amethyst released with the MC of the former is like Miaka of Curious Play when it come to appetite, I combined both so we have 'Amethyst Play' as the title. As for this week, well let's just be blunt that it's a very plain week, although on the other hand we have Meiji Tokyo Renka release in which it's otome VN so at least there's good news to anyone else who want to play otome VN, especially if you didn't have Switch because the publisher also released the Steam version of it. Other than that, we also have PQube announced the exact release date for SINce Memories. Anyway, let's see what I can write in regard of this week even though there's no much happen.
For Melty Amethyst, it's more or less small scale of otome VN with the MC Hotaru came into Tokyo because she admire her older sister with Hotaru got a part time job at the convenience store. One day, she met her new workmate who is quite handsome and yet quite rude. Obviously Hotaru will eventually get closer to the new workmate and the romance would be bloomed between them. As for Meiji Tokyo Renka, obviously it has more production value compared to Melty Amethyst. For the premise, we have the female MC Mei who like to eat somehow slipped into past Japan, specifically Meiji era, and obviously Mei will met a number of handsome man. From there, Mei will try her best to find the way to go back to her time while at the same time she'll have the romance with the handsome men. Go get Meiji Tokyo Renka if you're interested with it, and have fun.
Cherry Kiss announced their another nukige, and this time the title of the nukige is Big Bobbie Boss Blackmail with they will release it on next Friday (In 11th) later. In case you want to now the premise, it's about the MC who tried to do his best to rescue his big breasted boss from her less passionate marriage through a lot of sex, so basically this is more or less NTR VN. Also like I say beforehand, PQube just announced the exact release date for the first localized Memories Off games, SINce Memories, and the date is on 23rd later so feel free to note the date if you want to try one of Memories Off VN.
For fan translation, first of all we finally have Shin Koihime Musou updates, with the most recent one is now we have it was at 73% edited. For the rest of the updates, we have Taima Seiko Alice proofread is now 60% done and Ushieta is at 28% edited. That's all for this week fan translation updates.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Welcome to this week VNTS review, and for the title because we finally have Hime no Rakuen available on Steam along with Fakku released Forbidden Wards, I decided to combine both into 'The Ward of Paradise' with 'Paradise' come from Hime no Rakuen with 'Rakuen' mean 'Paraside'. Anyway, this week is quite something if we see it from Mangagamer updates alone, in which it's been a while with the last one is in last May. Other than Mangagamer's updates, we also have the notable Sakura no Uta updates. Overall, this week is another average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
Turned out we have Hime no Rakuen available in English as simultaneous release back in August 23rd, although I just wait until the Steam release for it back at last Friday. Also as it turned out, the translator use MTL in order to do the translation work. That said, I'll still mention the premise a bit, in which we'll have the female MC who is also the princess in the warmongering empire Canaria is the victim of her empire's political play with her driven out because her mother is the prostitute and was killed. One day, she saw a handsome prisoner of war, and she asked her father to give her the prisoner. From there, Canaria start to play with the handsome prisoner, with Canaria dominate the prisoner. While it use MTL, it's still interesting to see rare nukige otome VN available in English, let alone the one that has female domination, so feel free to try the VN if you didn't mind the MTL and want to try the unique otome. Oh yes Fakku released Forbidden Wards in which it's the nukige set in the hospital, and turned out there's some interesting plot with the amnesiac MC was kidnapped with he start to plot his escape. Go get the nukige if you're interested with it, and have fun.
For Mangagamer's updates, the most notable one is Rance X is finally fully translated, although it's still not over yet because the editing work is still at 5% done and will take some times to be done. We also have Luckydog is now fully translated and edited after there's no visible progress for years, Eve of December is fully edited, RGD was fully retranslated and 70% edited, Funbag Fantasy 4 is at 89% translated along with 86% edited, Rance 03 is at 88% translated along with 79% edited, Sleepless Midsummer is at 77% translated and three quarter edited, and Battle Scarred Homunculus along with both Ixseal and Sex Open World are already fully translated and edited. Several of their updates are also including the testing, in which they already finished the testing for both Battle Scarred Homunculus and Eve of December with they started testing work for Sex Open World. Lastly Mangagamer announced the exact date for their next release, Dead Days, in which they'll release it in Halloween Days (October 31st).
This week we have Akagoei 3 is at 21.16% in QA and Taima Seiko Alice is at 70% edited. That said, this week fan translation highlight is obviously on Sakura no Uta update, in which the translator manages to translated the halfway of Chapter 2, Abend, and that big jump on the progress bring the overall Sakura no Uta translation progress is now at 20% done.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (22/09/2024)
For the title, I decided to combined several words from the VN, with 'Sacrifical' from Nie no Machi (Translation Note: Nie mean sacrifice), 'Saint' from Sheol full title (Happy Saint Sheol), and 'Maiden' from Ever Maiden so we have 'Sacrifical Saint and the Queen of the Maidens' as the title, which is the parody of the anime Sacrifical Princess and the King of the Beasts with I changed 'King' into 'Queen'. Anyway, from what I can see this week is more interesting compared to the last week. Obviously there's still some usual updates, with the most notable one is in regard of Sakura no Uta which is always welcome. Aside of that, there's also some talk about the unfortunate situation surrounding Sheol release. Overall this week is an average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
Like I say beforehand we have Sheol released by Sekai in last Wednesday, although turned out there's some controversy. Namely turned out the developer decided to remove the some contents for overseas release, which obviously the fans will not going it slide. As for the reasons why, let's just say it started from the creepy fans who is too scared of playing the VN with disturbing contents find the courage to do criminal stuff by doxxed the location of the director's house, which lead the developer decided to just removed the contents for the sake of their safety. Fortunately, some fans started the effort to restore the removed contents, so good luck to them. For the premise, it's about the trainee who keep saw the nightmare where he always saw, and in his workplace he encounter the girl who looks similar to the angel in his dream. I saw one of the CG sample in VNDB, and let's just say it's quite disturbing all right, although it's still not justify the crime that the fans did to the director. Censorship and disturbing contents aside, I have no much to say other than feel free to try Sheol if you interested and didn't mind the censorship.
We also have Nie no Machi release, and the first things that I can say it's BL VN. The VN itself is about the MC Hisora who work on several part-time jobs as physical laborer. One day, he saw a man in morning outfit drop a bouquet with Hisora tried his best to return the bouquet. However, in the midst of his search Hisora was ended in the other world with one of the resident mention it as the world which distant from death, and it was shown with some man can still talk even without his head. Obviously with he stranded in the strange world, he'll do his best to return to his world. Well, at least it had Steam version, so you didn't need to buy console (Switch) if you want to play it. Go get the VN if you want to play it, and have fun.
Frontwing did announce their new VNs, and one of those is Kanade with them also planned to release it in English simultaneously. No much to known here other than it's yet another white haired girl heroine, it's written by Lilja writer (And thus euphoria writer as well), and it'll be released sometimes in 2025. Honestly I would like to see them experimenting with GL like what they did with Lilja, although it seems they decided to be focused on the single heroine which make sense seeing their Atri is quite successful so much it got anime adaptation. Nekonyan unfortunately need to delay their Sakura Celebration release, and the reasons is because they need to taking care of some leftover bugs together with the developer. In exchange though, we finally have the exact release date for Kakenuke with it will be released on October 18th later so feel free to note the date if you've been waiting for it.
For fan translation, we have Akagoei 3 is at 20.63% in QA, Majikoi A Plus Disk is at 15.6% translated along with 2.66% edited, Taima Seiko Alice is at 65% edited, and most importantly we have Sakura no Uta Fruhlingsbeginns chapter is now fully translated which bring the overall progress is at 12% translated with the editing work is just started (At 2% done as of now). Last but not the least, we have Shinzou announce their next project, Sousaku Kanojo. Admittedly it's not really surprising with they've been working on it in Spanish with it's been fully translated, but it's still nice to finally see they announce the English version of it, so good luck to them. From what I see, the artist is the one who work on Sharin and G-Senjou. For the premise, it's about the MC Toshiki who used to wrote the light novel suffer writers block with his childhood friend Aisha ghosting him. One day when he's on his first step to move on, suddenly he saw Aisha in front of him. For the progress, no much happen for the English version besides the assets work with it is 35% done. Oh yes, I should mention that Sousaku Kanojo English version is not Shinzou's secret project, because said project is the official translation.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (01/09/2024)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and because we have Lunaria Steam released along with Sleepless Nocturne announced, I decided to combine both words so we have 'Moonchild Nocturne' as the title with the 'Moonchild' word is from Lunaria full title (Lunaria -Virtualized Moonchild-). For this week, other than the already mentioned Lunaria Steam version release and Tsui no Sora release, we also have sprite released Everlasting Flowers which turned out to be not full GL VN as people expected, Cherry Kiss announced yet another nukige, and also JAST was announced the release time for Mojika. Overall, this week is quite an average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it.
Once again Cherry Kiss announced yet another nukige, and said nukige is called Hypnosis Idol: Greatest Tits with the premise is the MC find out on how to have sex with his favorite idols. Said method is by using hypnosis, so the MC will do the hypnosis to his favorite idol group with all four of its member will have sex with the MC. Not the biggest announcement to me, but if you interested with it then you can wait until Cherry Kiss release it on Friday. We also have Lunaria Steam version release, and the premise is still the same with genius virtual online gamer Tabito encounter AI avatar Lunar-Q on the abandoned server which located in the moon, and Lunar-Q express her wish to see the Earth with Tabito tried his best to fulfill her wish. For comparison with Tsui no Stella, Lunaria is far lighter even though there are some dramatic turn in the story, which make sense seeing Lunaria is more like love story. Go get Lunaria Steam version if you've been waiting for it, and have fun.
This week we also have some news in regard of the exact release date for two VNs (Forbidden Ward and Hime no Rakuen), with both will be released on 27th later. For fan translation, we have Akagoei 3 was fully finished its editing work and currently it's been in QA work with the latest progress the QA work for it is 18.06% done, and Taima Seiko Alice is at 60% edited. Also like I say beforehand we have Sakura no Uta translation project was started with it was at 8% translated, and for more elaboration the prologue was already fully translated with the first chapter, Fruhlingsbeginns past halfway (52%) translated.
Oh yes, I did mention JAST is about to release Monika, and according to their site they'll release it in February next year. There's still no exact release date as of now, but at least it shouldn't be long wait if people have been looking forward to Mojika.
Lastly, we have Everlasting Flowers in which it had some problematic launch, and obviously the problem is not really the VN is more focused on the friendship between two girls instead of full romance. But instead it's because sprite decided to add DRM that force the player to play the game online, which obviously won't be good in case people played on Steam deck or have the internet connection cut off, although thankfully sprite add the patch which remove the requirement to be online. That said, unfortunately sprite still didn't add Music Mode, in which they've been doing so since Aokana (Which Nekonyan ported the game so they can add Music Mode). For the premise, it's about the broken girl Mina get the invitation to live in the seaside lounge for the summer, and in there she met Ran who is the opposite of her. While sprite did some mistakes, at least they prove they can do good job on art with it was said to be the high point of the VN. Go get Everlasting Flowers if you've been waiting for it, and have fun.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (18/08/2024)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for the title I made the parody of Zombie Police by changing 'Police' into 'Sword Princess' with the latter is from the title for one of Yamizome Liberator heroine (Ichika), so we have 'Zombie Sword Princess'. By the way, Ichika's setting is her father is the higher up in Japanese police department. Anyway as for this week, well it looks interesting. By interesting I mean the updates is very scarce and I have no much to say other than it's very plain week, which sort of make sense seeing we'll going to have some active week incoming so perhaps we can treat this week as a breather. That said, we still have some updates, and so let's see what I can write about this week.
Actually the aforementioned Zombie Police was released on the last week, only that I decided to talk about it on this week. The VN itself is about the MC Tamura Yasu who is a detective formed a detective duo with the girl detective Kabane Akemi with Akemi peculiar body would help the investigation a lot. Akemi's peculiar body is zombie for some reasons, and thus she's the titular Zombie Police because both are working on the police. For what I can see, apparently the game will have similar gameplay like Ace Attorney (And by extension Ouka Sabaki), namely you'll doing investigation in the crime scene in order to collect testimonies and evidences before doing some deductions. No much to say other than the game is available on Steam and didn't have sex scene in the first place (So no need to ask for uncensor patch), and feel free to get the VN if you want some VN with detective works.
For this week updates, first of all we have Akagoei 3 is now past 90% mark edited with it currently at 91.38% edited. Next, we have Idea Factory announced the exact release date for Date A Live Ren Dystopia, and said date will be on September 5th later. Visual Arts is finally announced the exact release date for Lunaria PC version, and according to Steam they'll release it on 30th later so you can note the date if you want to get it from Steam (The link to the store). As it turned out JAST has been working on Yamizome Liberator with the latest progress is they've been finishing with the QA work, and now they working on fixing the remaining bugs. Lastly we have a fan group translate One fanfic VN which is made by Alcot (Or rather their precursor), Stay -Fragments of Memories-. From what I can see, it tell the additional stories for three of One heroines, Mizuka, Akane, and Misaki, so it may worth to get if you're fans of those three, although beware of the main game spoiler if you play it.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
Visual Novel Translation Status (21/07/2024)
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title because we have magical girl nukige Angel Tear I parodied the magical girl anime with explicit contents, Gushing Over Magical Girl, by changing 'Magical Girl' with 'Angel Tear', and it should be noted both works are have magical girl having sex. For this week, let's just say that overall this week is another plain one even though it has Angel Tear which supposed to be quite interesting if only for the magical girl nukige that is rarely translated. Other than Angel Tear release, we also have Sekai manage to release Nekonin ExHeart Spin. Oh yes, we also have Nekonyan revealed they have another three secret projects, which make it five new secret projects. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week.
Once again we have Angel Tear released, and it's magical girl nukige about Yuuri who is an ordinary high school girl suddenly recruited as the magical girl Angel Tear. As per magical girl stuffs, of course Angel Tear job is revolving around fighting the demon in order to protect humanity, and as the super heroine she obviously has some people who've been gushing over her. Obviously the demon need to be intelligent in order to fight the Angel Tear, and so the demon decided to laid the trap after Angel Tear let her guard down because she was ran out of energy. Seeing Angel Tear has very nice body, the demons make full use of her body by contaminate the men around her with the only way to save them is with sex. Thus began what would be Angel Tear's big problem, because she also need to serve the man who've been gushing over her sexually with some of them lying about being hypnotized. Go get Angel Tear if you want some magical girl nukige, and have fun.
Cherry Kiss announced their next nukige in which it's not from their usual partner (Miel) but instead it's from Orcsoft, and I can only say it's about the MC who want to have sex with his mother's best friend for the obvious reason. That, and it'll be released on August 9th later. PQube released Ryuusei Fantasia, and I can only understand it's otome game about the male idol with the female MC became the producer. At least it's nice PQube made it available on PC unlike Aksys and Idea Factory who only made their otome game available only on console, so get the game if you want the otome version of Idolmaster. Sekai manage to release Nekonin ExHeart Spin, and I admit it has nice art despite I would like to see them localize longer Whirlpool VNs if possible. For the VN, it's about the new MC of Nekonin Kikumaru who just lost his grandfather suddenly visited by a cat-earred ninja girl during the wake. Afterwards, the ninja introduce herself as Touka and mention her task to protect Kikumaru. From there, Kikumaru's life start to get a bit turbulent, especially with her sister turned out to be tanuki-earred ninja. Go get Nekonin if you want more catgirl, and have fun.
For fan translation updates, we have Taima Seiko Alice is at 40% edited, Akagoei 3 is at 87.94% edited, Ushieta is at 86.5% translated with Yui 1 is at 88.6% translated, and Karenai Sekai is at 24% edited. Lastly we have Nekonyan revealed their three other secret projects on their Discord (No progress report on those new secrets though), which mean we have potential five new title announcements from Nekonyan at Otakon later, although whether the announcements will be interesting or not we'll see.
That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
